Starpelt noted that Jet was staring at her pelt for a brief moment before looking elsewhere. It was normal for many to wonder about her pelt. The stars on her pelt were natural, for the most part, but somewhere along the way she had gotten some dye splashed in a few places that had remained permanent, but that was so long ago that even she didn't remember which markings she'd been born with and which were dyes.
She decided not to comment about his lack of comments about the last subject, it had most likely been just small talk anyway, and it was always possible that he wasn't sure where he stood in terms of the subject. "That's fine, you can lead.", she said, getting up.

"If you say so," Jet said, smiling once more. He waited for her to stand before taking another step, turning and starting towards the foliage. "This way."
He guided her through the field, farther from the den his family was sleeping in, for fear of rousing them. The land bare of trees except for the few they had left behind, and the air was much colder without the plants to block the wind. "It should be warmer where we're going," he reassured her as his breath starting coming out in mists once more. "There's like... a roof. And stuff."
Soon, they reached an outcropping of rock, which looked large enough to house a few Varg comfortably, and although he desired the warmth he knew he'd feel once he had gone in, he paused by the entrace, nosing around the entryway to see if another had claimed the space -- after all, he was sure he and his companion were not the only two to seek shelter. But thankfully, it was empty, and a detour to find another shelter wasn't required.
"This should be good enough," he said, looking over at Starpelt with a cheerful smile, waiting politely for her to go in first.

Starpelt caught wind of the scent of other vargs as they entered the field, it wasn't unnatural for many to take shelter in the same area as long as they didn't get in each others' way of course. She noticed that Jet was walking away from the other scents, it was possible that he knew them and didn't want to disturb or he could just simply not know them.
She involuntarily shivered at the change in temperature because of their lack of foliage, but she felt that she could trust Jet, so she decided against commenting on it and followed after him. "A roof and stuff, huh, it sounds fun.", she commented with a small chuckle as they continued their walking.
He must've had a good grip of the territory fore she was certain that she would've never had found the shelter without a guide leading her to it. Jet took a precautionary sniff of the area, and she did the same too, slightly, she knew that he was on the lookout for other vargs, but she was wondering if there was any prey to be found in the shallow outcropping of rocks. "You're right, it really is warm in here.", she said with mild surprise as she padded in, taking his invitation.

Jet followed in after her, tail swaying softly from side to side from the happiness he felt in the warmth. He sat on the earthen floor, eyes taking in the wall of stone, and a nostalgic feeling came about him. Although Starpelt didn't know it, this was where he had first met Loopy, and two of his siblings, Heret and Balin, and where he had decided to join them, too, to be a part of the large family he loved now.
At the thought, he turned to her, and asked, "Do you have a family to go back to?" before he could think better of it. He realized only after it had already left his lips that it probably would have been best to start off on another subject -- many Varg had been killed recently, due to Man. They had taken a keen interest in the pelts of Varg nowadays, and he shuddered at the thought of seeing a Varg without fur or skin, merely a lump of flesh (humans were, after all, well known for their wastefullness), rotting on the earth.
"Do you like frogs?" he asked suddenly, trying to make up for his question earlier by providing a change of subject she could use if she was uncomfortable with answering his previous question.
