Raina grimaced as the snakes poisonous fangs bit into Branimir again. She knew this was the end of the show for her beloved canine companion and she grabbed his ball, tossing it and drawing him inside before he hit the disgusting ground of the field.
Branimir had been so busy fighting to stay concious and ignore the burning sensation that had been steadily spreading through his body that he missed his chance to avoid the snake's attack and as the fangs sunk in he fought against the darkness that was seeping into his vision. Just as he was about to collapse he felt the beam from his ball surround him and he allowed himself to be returned to it's safe confines where he could begin to recover.
Raina frowned as she clipped the ball back to her belt "Good try buddy." she murmured quietly before she grasped another ball and tossed it "Amaryllis, give it everything you've got!" she cried as the ball opened and revealed a very fierce looking raichu.
Amaryllis landed on the battlefield and immediately set to surveying her surroundings which could be summed up as disgusting, vile and repulsive. After making note of any possible advantages she might have on this field she turned her focus onto her opponent. A snake... wonderful. The pristine raichu shuddered at the thought of it's fangs but she immediately set to looking for a way to get around it's defense.

((We have to roll to see who goes first this time, just lettin ya know. ^.^))
Lumin had recovered from being upset, "Good job, Impasto, but don't let your guard down, we're not done yet!" He clenched his fist, if Impasto went down, then it was Pastel up, and, to be honest, he wasn't looking forward to letting the little Eevee take charge of the battle.
Impasto nodded, not really feeling up to being jaunty at the moment. He took a deep breath, and lowered his gaze at the Raichu, {Your companion was a valiant fighter, do well by him and fight with honor.}

"Alright, Impasto, use Poison Jab."
Impasto nodded, {Let the duel commence, whether it be to live or die, we will allow our fates what may!} he launched himself at his opponent, attempting to aim for a good spot. He was well aware that he was probably just paving the way for Pastel, but he would truly be Mercutio, and little Pastel, Romeo.

Raina was quick to react when she heard the other trainer's command "Dodge it Amaryllis, then use Thunderwave!" she called but her excitement turned to dissapointment when the snake's fangs sunk into her raichu despite the attempts to avoid them.
Amaryllis had leapt backward upon hearing Raina's command but she didn't move far enough and as the fangs sunk into her shoulder she grimaced "I will bring upon your downfall. You'd best be on guard." she muttered to her opponent as the air in the stadium began to feel charged with electricity, when she was sure she had enough power the raichu released it in a giant shockwave.

Impasto was flattened himself to the ground, preventing the electricity from doing too much damage. He reared back, {It is you that will soon suffer defeat. I will ensure it.} He listened for his trainers command, not daring to make a preemptive more again, or Lumin might do something drastic.. like taking away his soap operas... that would be bad....
Lumin nodded, Impasto had done good to dodge the Thunder Wave, "Now, Impasto, use Acid." He had to lower the defenses so that, should Impasto fall, Pastel could have at least a slight advantage.
Impasto nodded, {En garde!} He spit a stream of acidic poison at the Raichu, aiming to eat away at her defenses.

Raina sighed with exasperation when the thunder wave attack missed. She just couldn't get any luck at all lately could she? While she had been contemplating her next move the snake used it's next attack and before Amaryllis could dodge it the acid hit her, covering her in nasty stinging fluid that had soon enough been shook off but the effect remained. This was definately not good. "Ammy, try Thunderwave again!" Raina called knowing her only shot lay with paralyzing the snake so they could get hits in without him retaliating.
Amaryllis huffed angrily as the snake avoided her attack. "Look here mister, I refuse to lose to a serpent, that would be you, so you'll just have to set your ego aside and deal with losing!" Just as she finished speaking the acidic fluids hit her and her eyes widened in shock before she began shaking herself like a dog that just got out of water, sending most of the fluid flying off of her and landing on the buildings and ground around her she narrowed her eyes. "That is no way to treat a lady!" she bit out before she unleashed the electricity she had been storing up.

Impasto repeated his grounding strategy, {Nay, fair lady, it is not. But it is also unladylike to battle. Shall you surrender? I would-}
"Impasto, stop flirting, and pay attention. Use Earthquake."
Impasto nodded, {Right, sorry.} He turned back to Amaryllis, {I do hope you forgive me, fair lady.} He raised up and slammed the ground, making it shake, shattering another window, and causing part of the collapsed building to fall.

Raina did her own human approximation of a growl as the snake set the earth to shaking again and she struggled once more to remain on her feet. Can't he knock it off? Honestly! I don't want to look like an idiot and fall on my face! she thought bitterly as she refocused on the battle. Amaryllis was not faring well and Raina was starting to accept the fact that this was a battle she could not win but she would keep fighting till the end anyway, she never backed down from a challenge. "Amaryllis, give thunderwave one more shot girl." she commanded and then watched as her precious raichu gave the battle everything she had even though she was getting pummelled relentlessly.
As the earth shook Amaryllis crouched down low so she wouldn't fall over and she jumped when the building collapsed. Things were not going well at all and she couldn't seem to hit that darned snake. "I will not surrender, it is my duty to protect the woman who saved my life and I will serve her loyally no matter what." she stated before she charged up electricity one more time before releasing it, this time she was lower to the ground which meant it would be harder for the snake to duck beneath her shockwave.

Impasto was distracted, as Lumin had figured he's be, and had not, for reasons only known to him (presumably known to him, at least), not expected the Raichu to use Thunder Wave... which was about like being shocked that he had used Earthquake. He was finding it difficult to move his mouth anymore, but he never found it impossible to create the need to insert his proverbial foot in his mouth, {Oh, never fear, fair lady, I have no doubt about your loyalty, it is simply that it pains me to fight such a beauty.}
Lumin sighed as the snake took the jolt, he covered his face, as he knew exactly why the big serpent hadn't dodged. The idiot was, if nothing else, a dramatic egotist. He may not have thought that he was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but he was pretty sure that the ladies thought he was. It was at times like this that Lumin worried what would happen if they ever went up against some crazed wild Pokemon that happened to be a pretty female....

A startled gasp was emitted from Raina as she watched the attack actually make contact with the arbok. Wow! You mean I actually get to have a chance now? That's so nice of the kamis... she thought to herself, the voice in her head sounding somewhat bitter. "Ammy, use mud-slap!" she commanded knowing that it was their only chance.
As the snake became paralyzed the raichu grinned from ear to ear. "I wouldn't worry about the opponent so much if I were you, it affects your concentration." she said just before she slapped her tail into one of the holes that Branimir had dug up earlier, sending debris and moistened dirt flying at the strange arbok.

Impasto closed his eyes and mouth before the trash hit, but it didn't help him in the way of getting hit by it. It would still make him smell worse than anything he could think of at the moment.. no.. he could think of quite a few things, but none of them would be pleasant. Ah well, such was life, {Are you positive you would not like to surrender? It would help my conscience to-}
"Impasto, stop flirting. I don't think it's getting you anywhere, and you're embarrassing yourself." Lumin knew the big snake well enough to have guessed what he had said, but he had no idea the response, just the voice tones and body language.. and grinning as she slapped mud in his face was not positive body language, as far as he knew.

Raina smiled as the mud-slap hit it's target. "Good job Ammy, now try it again." she called while thinking that maybe, just maybe she could redeem them and not lose by quite so much.
Amaryllis quirked an eyebrow at the snake as he spoke, did he honestly think she would surrender? Pathetic. Narrowing her eyes she followed Raina's command, adding more force behind it this time as she sent the mud and debris flying at the snake. "Maybe you should listen to your trainer. He seems to know what he's talking about." she retorted with a sassy tone.
