"But don't you see Rael?" his voice became a little higher now. "Imagine how our power, our influence would grow if we allied with them! I do agree that they are corrupted beings, but we are Pure, are we not? If we are Pure, they can be Pure to." Sabidan stopped. He realized he made a huge mistake. He undermined Raels authority. He gritted his teeth and prepared for the worst.

Time stopped. Rael paused in his search for weaknesses. Barbarians at the gate, delays in his purification experiment, everything seems to stop and even a few of the other soldiers pause. Some awaiting orders, three closer ones managed to pick up Sabidan's words. Turning slowly, the King faces his general, face impassive and cold. Though he does not scream, it might be better if he did. Instead, there is rage . . . cold, disappointed and disgusted rage all mixed in hushed tones.
"Take a glass of the purest water. It is the clearest and most uncorrupted material known in the world. Add to it a singular drop of dye, tinges of vitae from some unknown taint. No longer is the water pure, no longer pristene and whole. You want to cloud our light with shadows? Purity does not purify by osmosis. They will not be made worthy by our company! Perhaps you are intrigued by their servant? Perhaps it is your skull you wish them to treat as a tool, a TOY!" Rael's wings now shine brightly, Brilliant as the sun on a clear day. Fury burning in his veins, outrage fueling him onward. Demons are horrid, but even they are preferable to humans because they are not corrupted, they act as they are meant to. Humans pretend to be allies, to revere peace, and then augment their bodies into abominations ready to strike down purity for having the gall to exist?!
And here is the proof . . . only a few words, and now Sabidan is turning. "Decide just whom you serve. The light, or the humans. You speak of power, of hope. Eons have I watched as humans struggled to not self-destruct. Now they are on the verge of extinction, and you wish to hold a soiree? Tell me, Sabidan: You wish to 'mingle' with the humans? Tell them your name. Tell them your title. Tell them exactly who and what you are and see how long your skull remains free of their wretched technology! How pure will you be as their newest scout drone, powered by shame and electricity?" His face distorted in rage, he turns upon his soldiers, and insistently orders them to their posts and moves towards the portal.
He cannot wait much longer. He cannot stand the stench of corruption and failure much longer. His fists clenched and knuckles white, it is all Rael can do to keep from assaulting his dearest friend.

Sabidan looked down at the ground. Maybe where he was standing used to be a luscious forest, a playground. Maybe someones house. Now all that was here was dirt and charred flames. Bones.
He considered Raels words. Perhaps this spot would have been the same, even if they have not had had this war at all. Perhaps this area would have been the same due to human technology. He remembered seeing their "Nuclear Bombs." He remembered reading about how they used one in a place called "Hiroshima." Maybe, if the war had not had happened, in coming time, they would have destroyed each other.
Humans were brilliant. They had the power to build that technology. Humans were nice. Humans were compassionate. But Humans were evil. They all were. From the purest child to the holiest priest, they were all tainted.
Still, to Sabidan, the pros outweighed the cons, but Rael was right. They would taint us, just how they tainted themselves. He looked back towards the Skull, which was now out of sight and followed Rael.

Degial looked up at the sky, eyes squinting at the sun. He wrinkled his nose at the stench of blood now overwhelming him. With biting disgust, he ignored it, turning instead to Enami and smiled.
He pointed to the high point of a hill, "A temple, perhaps, there. Of white marble." It would be a strategic location, both overlooking the plains around it and displaying its magnificent beauty to all who cared to look. He raised a hand and the hill reappeared in a glowing white orb. Yet, instead of being barren, the hill had a large pantheon on top of it, with white columns carved in the doric style. Degial opened his arms and the orb expanded, now including the grounds of the hill. Instead of barren sands and dirt, it was a lush green, with a large fountain of a celestial maiden pouring water in front. To the sides, there was a carefully laid garden, reminiscent of the tranquility of Sarra. Various flowers grew, clipped and neat, along the lines of cobblestone pathways. Sparse trees grew to the side, small and tidy. Soft music played, ostensibly coming from the plants themselves.
The design was simple and tranquil, easily visible across the land. Its simplicity was its attraction, something so innocently pure that there surely would not be another on the planet. It was also open, so that anyone wishing to bask in the calm serenity of the garden could do so. Degial knew that the moment they stepped into the garden, their hearts would be purified by the very voice of the angels.
"What do you think?" He asked, voice soft like the very music that emitted from the glowing orb. He turned again to the hill, envisioning a reality that would soon be created by the divine.

Em gazed at the orb wistfully, her eyes glimmering with joy and peacefulness, she almost forgot she was surrounded by such a morbid wasteland. Her hand reached out, almost touching the illusion, wishing that she could somehow be transferred into that world.
"I think," she finally replied, "I think that if we create it like this, completely open to its surroundings, one of two things could happen. It would either shrink at the evil and corruption around it, and the surrounding area would only bring it to waste..." she paused, looking around her. "Or.... or it would brighten so eloquently, so beautifully, and blossom even more, and expand. It could... I don't know.... it could even cause the world to become.... beautiful again."
She looked around her, imagining all of the changes that would be made. "Yes..." The hills no longer being dark and burnt, the forests that would expand around them, the world becoming populated again, not just by humans, but by creatures. Innocence, purity, happiness, all taking the place of hatred, greed, and malice... The changes were overwhelming at best, but tempting. So tempting, that she knew she couldn't resist.
Her eyes widened with anticipation of the new Eden, her wings stretched out behind her slowly, and she smiled peacefully. "Yes, it is possible," she replied softly.

((there aren't any plants on the hill yet, all you see is an orb with the hill in the midst of it, but instead of it being charred and barren, it's lush with greens and flowers, a fountain in the midst, along with a marble temple... a scrying orb, if you will. sorry for the confusion... sweatdrop ))

Degial slowly let the orb fade until it disappeared. Then, he turned and smiled at Enami, "With the angel's guiding hand, I'm sure we will succeed." His voice was filled with reassuring confidence he wasn't sure he had. However, Degial's smile was infectious and his voice smooth. With a great flutter of his wing, he took to the sky, holding Em so that she flew with him. They landed on the top of the hill together, overlooking the fields around them. "It will be the starting point of a new world." Degial stated simply, unsure whether humanity would survive to see it or not.

Em sighed happily, leaning back on Degial and raising her hands slightly, causing vines to grow around them and play at their feet. She knew they wouldn't live long, but it was good to actually see the green sprout from the ground. It gave her a sparkle more of hope, of that this was actually possible. She crossed her arms in front of her chest, holding herself and watching the the vines twist and turn. She then leaned her head back on his chest, eyes half closed, smiling.
What a beautiful place, she couldn't help thinking. I'm sure there are some beautiful fertilizers we could bring here, they'll make the soil good as new in a tick. Her mind whirred frantically with ideas, her smile widening. I could plant frazzle trees, and toosa plants, things this world can only dream of. Not to mention the sea grass, and my lullaby flowers, and... All at once, she realized she was happily cuddled up into the arms of her Archangel captain behind her. "O-Oh!" she exclaimed, jumping several feet away and eyes popping open. She spun around, then dropped to her knees, head bowed down. "I-I'm so sorry, Captain!"
