Lerena nods. "It's my Amazon deck." she explained. "I believe in combat, speaking figuratively of course. I think some things in life are meant to be fought. Anyway, what's your name? I am Lerena." Lerena said, introducing herself and putting her deck back up. He seemed calmer now, but she sure wasn't. She was still slightly embarrassed that she was talking to someone like him. Sure, he was nice, but she didn't have very good social skills. She was shy around most people.

"Oh? My name... Well Im Hikari... Hikari Kage" pauses for a second then "I know the owner of this store, solomn... (I know its yugis grandpas name, but this is a different person) hes a nice person, lets me hang here..." Voice strictens and grows a bit more serious yet there is a sense of fear in it "Would you like to come up to the roof with me? I mean... Its breezy up there, but its quite the place to hang.. Solomn told me I can bring anyone up there as long as they are friends.." grows silent for a bit then speaks again "Thing is.. I don't have a lot of friends here.."

"I'm Lerena Leigh Helena." said Lerena with a smile. "I'm from America." she added. She sensed fear in his voice, but did he just call her a friend? "I don't have any friends at all. You're the closest to a friend I have so far and we haven't known each other long. I'm glad someone wants to speak with me. Normally people are frightened of me because of the way I act in the classroom." Lerena explained. "You know the store owner? That's really awesome. I'll come up to the roof with you. I have an assignment in English class. I have to write an essay on a topic of my choice. The thing is, I'm not sure what to write about. My first thought was to write something on my ideal guy, but I'm not sure I want to do that. I want to pick something more creative. I'll use that as a last resort though."

As they headed up the stairs. "Well that sounds like a good idea, maybe you can talk about life being different from America here in Japan?" As they reach the roof, Hikari grows silent. He wasn't going to be alone for once on top of that roof. He wasn't sure if he liked that, or not. He was so used to being alone. Gaining realization of Lerena, spoke again. "So what do you think? Its beautiful up here.. even at this low height... Just to watch the people go by and life going on.."

"I prefer not to talk about my life in America." she said abruptly. Things were so much calmer and so much happier here. Why would she want to bring up bad memories? The teacher wouldn't believe what she went through anyway. "I might do the report on my ideal man anyway. It's so much easier. I know he doesn't exist, but at least I can have fun talking about him." she said. She thought about his question. "I suppose it is. I prefer being up on the roof and doing something besides watching people go by." Lerena mentioned.

Growing curious. "Like what?" Sitting down on the edge of the roof. "Because all i see is many stories trapped inside a human prison" gazing down at the passing pedestrians. "Everyone has a story, a past, a life changing situation and own sorrows and joys, anger and happiness." Looks over at Lerena, "why don't you join me on this edge." when seeing that she was a bit shy. "Or you could just stay there." Looks back at the pedestrians below, couple of duels was going on couple blocks away, the holograms hum and the fight could be slightly heard. It then occured to him that he had just done something today that he never thought he could. He had made a friend. 'sorta' he thought.

"I'll join you." she said. She joined him sitting down on the edge of the roof. "I like to write on rooftops. My biggest dream is to become a writer." she explained. "I want to tell my story and I want everyone to know." Lerena said. "That's an interesting point of view. Unfortunately, the only story I know is my own." She thought about the type of man she wanted to find. Would she be able to find him? It was ridiculous being so picky when she barely knew what she wanted in life. The only thing she knew was definitely set in stone was her future career. She looked up at the cloudy sky and wondered what life decided for her in the coming years. There were duels not too far away and she could see move after move being played. All she saw was a life of combat in duels. To her, she fought more emotional struggles than anything else. There were some mental struggles as well as spiritual ones. But she rarely had physical struggles. At least, not since that day.

"Are you alright" Hikari said after looking at Lerena. She seemed a bit uneasy. Then continued "Duels seem to be going on around here all the time, so you better get used to them.. hey maybe one day we can even play a simple card match. Just for fun though." Smiles at the thought that he was talking to someone other than just himself. Then realizing that she hadn't responded asked again. "Are you okay? you don't look so well."

Lerena snickered. "My family always asks me if I'm okay. I get lost in thought sometimes, but I'm fine." she explained. "I don't duel, but I wouldn't mind trying it out. I was just thinking about what to put down in my essay." Lerena said. "I don't mind watching duels. They're interesting." It was easy for her to get lost in thought and simply think about things. This didn't mean she was depressed or anything.

"Well here" Hikari started, "Let me show you." Swung his legs back around and pulled out his deck of cards and sat down on the floor, taking out a small cloth from his jacket pocket and set it down, indicating that he wanted lerena to sit down. "Don't worry.. I won't bite, Its just a friendly game of duel monsters."

((They're just talking and nothing's happening. Something more interesting needs to occur. For example, an explosion. Also, can we skip past the duel and just say who wins? We can decide the winner using dice.))
Lerena pulled out her deck. "I don't make a very friendly duelist." she joked with a mischievous smirk. "We can duel then. I'm familiar with the rules. If I wasn't, I couldn't put together a very good deck." she pointed out. It was interesting beginning a duel with her deck. It was just for show, but dueling was something to pass the time. She did hope something more interesting would happen later. Perhaps a murder attempt or a robbery. Maybe even an explosion.

(well usually when it comes to a yugioh rp, dueling is what makes things interesting, you can do something yourself, you know =P)
It wasn't long until the duel ended, With Lerena the winner, but as Hikari insists, was only because he was helping her learn how to play. "Well, that wasn't so bad. was it?" It wasn't until then that something strange happened, the skys darkened, life grew gray, and monsters emerged from the ground. "Re...Red eyes, black dragon?" Hikari stuttered as a life size red eyes flew up only revealing the barrage of monsters arriving throughout the city. "Wha? Whats going on?"

((Believe it or not, I've had an interesting YGO RP with no dueling in it. Dueling is time-consuming. We have imaginations. All we need to do is use them. Also, nice idea.))
"I have no idea, but this is interesting." Lerena remarked with a smirk. "I wonder what's going on myself though." she said. She had no weapons on her right now and they likely wouldn't work on the monsters. Would duel disks work? She didn't have one though, because she didn't duel. The only duel she had was against Hikari and she only won it thanks to him. He helped her with strategies and the like. Even though she knew the rules, the game was still complex. "Does the store owner have duel disks?" she asked. "We can use them to summon our defenses until we figure out what's going on."

"Wha...a..." Still shocked from the change in scenery. "Oh yea!?" Remembering that Solomn had stored a couple of duel disks in case anyone wanted to buy. 'I don't think he would mind if we borrowed two'. Running downstairs the store was just as dark as the outside. "Whats going on here?" the room was silent though, besides the roars and destruction of the outside, it appeared as if everyone was frozen in time. Hikari would have to put this out of his mind and go back later, something weird was happening and Lerenas idea was the best yet. Grabbing two duel disks, throwing the boxes aside and placing one on his arm and tossing one to Lerena, "place this on." As doing so with his own deck, the meter read 4000. "hmmmm, this is strange, usually lifepoints don't appear unless a duel is in place." Getting ready to go outside as Lerena places the duel disk on. "Be careful, this is very strange."

Lerena slipped on her duel disk and saw her life point meter go up to 4,000. The only thing she could do was smirk as she watched it. She slipped her deck inside the duel disk. "Don't worry. I know. I'm very interested to see what's going on." she answered him. "I hope your friend doesn't mind if we borrow these. It's for self-defense purposes. He should understand." Everyone seemed frozen except for the two of them. For what purpose was this the case? If her life points ran out, she would die. At least, that's how she figured it went. She always did want to go on an adventure with some hot guy. Was it shallow of her? Perhaps so, but she was still a teenager. She walked over to the exit and pushed open the doors. As she started going up the stairs, she saw more monsters entering the city. Even if this was interesting, she wanted to know what was going on. Who was capable of doing all this? "Alright. Any ideas on who would do this?" she asked. "Why are we the only ones still able to move?"
