As Solar put it...I believe it is also of a personal preference in conjunction with the other stuff said here. It is complicated, even if we were built that way from the start. The mentality is what determines it in the end. It isn't just men, but women as well in some cases.

As with other species it cant be generalized.
Guess what theres more then one kind of penguin and they dont all behave the same!.
Hell theres some kinds that cannibalize. :/

humans are quite different from animals
not all of us do the same thing so there can't be a solid rule for males
however, cheating is a huge problem in relationships. women make it hard not to cheat
when your girlfriend is being a huge b***h, getting mad at you for no reason, hitting you, stuff like that... when that happens, guys don't wanna dump the girl but they want something new so they resort to cheating.
cheating for no reason though is just wrong
the same could go for women

Saying "cheating for no reason is wrong" implies that cheating with a reason is right... which isn't true.

My friends all have guy problems so I don't know and my mom got divorced over an unfaithful spouse soooo who knows but I know that there are some happy relationships so who knows? I think it depends on the person...

I guess its true alot of males do cheat but I think it varies so maybe theres like 1 in like 50 that are most likely not to cheat sweatdrop

CH0Z0 If that's true then why do so many women cheat? Men look to get as many children as possible. But women will always aim to have the best children. Thus if a guy finds anything, he'll shoot at it. But with a woman, it's only if there's a greater bonus for it.

Well the documentary I watched said women vary between wanting a masculine partner and a feminine one depending on when they are in their monthly cycle. Ergo, natural logic dictates you marry the feminine one and sleep with the masculine one when it's "that time". Is good thing humans don't always listen to natural logic.

Double standards and sexism regarding the superiority of men has only recently started to be regarded as wrong, especially in the United States of America where equal rights for women have been established (though not fully actualized).
That being said, there was a time where a man could cheat on his wife without being wrong.
That time has long been over and cheating is a taboo, whether it is the man or the woman who has cheated.
I would never cheat on my girl/boyfriend/spouse. In fact, I could hardly comprehend being in an "open relationship" and free to date more than one person at a time. If I were to date someone, I wouldn't try to pursue feelings elsewhere.
If you're dating someone and you want to date someone else, break up with the person you're dating. It's a pretty crappy way to end a relationship, but hey, it's better than cheating and getting caught.
I honestly believed humans were designed to evolve to make their own decisions. Basic animal genetics can suck it.

Women outnumber us 3:1. Nuff said. So numbers say for every three women, they've prolly been with the same man. Imagine what China is like considering they have a ******** of 1.5+ billion people living together. They also have laws that you have to file with the courts to have children. Marriages are chosen by the families, etc. etc. etc. Social lifestyles are different everywhere. Whether men abandon their mates or vice versa and abandon their young.
