Tallulah scrambled to keep someone from sitting on the package of Oreos, and then held them out for the newly arrived girl with the bag of chips, who she thought she recognized from school, but wasn't sure. Outside of swim team and model UN, she didn't know many of the underclassmen. "Want one?" she asked, and then added, "I don't think half the people here were actually invited. Go ahead! I don't think Pavel minds."
She turned to the short boy beside her with the multicolored hair and far too many hair clips. "Do you mind, Pavel?" she asked, and something overhead caught her eye. Tallulah looked up just in time to see a meteor streak through the darkened sky.
"Guys, guys, it's starting!"

In a matter of moments, their party had expanded exponentially. Everyone seemed excited for the stars, and there were so many potential new friends! He waved to each of them in turn, happily watching as everyone made themselves comfortable. He was glad he'd brought his big blanket off of his bed again.
"Hi Serah, hi..." Oh, she hadn't said her name. "Well. Just hi! Yay, so many people are here! My name is Pasha, by the way, and these are all of my friends. And some of my new friends." It seemed all the same to him, as long as she received his greeting. He couldn't help feeling that Serah seemed familiar somehow, but he didn't know anybody by that name...shrugging it off, he gave an exuberant display of a thumbs-up.
"I don't mind at all! We can have more people to spot the shooting stars once they happen. And then we can all fight over who gets to wish on them." He laughed at his own very pathetic joke. "Not really. Probably no fighting. I think we can all wish on all of them, if we wanted to!"
Apparently, one of the wishes just couldn't wait - only seconds after Tallulah announced the first shooting star of the night, he was busy wishing on the second.
Dear star: I wanna be best friends with Audrey forever.

"Hi Zac. Nice to meet you. I love your pajamas by the way!" Serah smiled, giving him a thumbs-up for his attire. She turned towards the other people, freezing as she saw Pasha. "..Hey there, nice to meet you!" Oh s**t. While Serah kept a smile pasted on her face, she recognized Pasha immediately. It was a shame she couldn't talk to him about that meeting since her identity was a secret. but oh well, no helping it.
She settled on the blanket, glancing back at the two males with a chuckle. "Everyone's free use for a pillow. I dont think there's a rule against it~" She winked, suddenly distracted by the news of a shooting star.
I wish life stays as fun as it is now. Her eyes followed the shining movement, clutching her bunny tighter.

Zac blushed more deeply and gave a murmured thank you about the compliment to his PJ's, though he still looked like he was considering pulling the hood down over his face as far as he could for some reason.
But the mention of stars turned his gaze heavenward.
// I wish... // god what did he wish... respect? it had to be earned... trust? Friends? What?

"Beth!!"
Demy never moved from his spot (like hell he was giving up prime 'seating area' on Z's lap), but he raised an arm to wave at the girl. Beth was pretty cool in his book afterall, so it was nice to see her again. He made a gesture, beckoning her to come sit beside him and Z.
"See man, -she- gets the idea."
At this he gestured to Serah, keeping his grin focused right up at his blushing friend.
"Besides, you're comfortable. You wouldn't kick me off when I'm comfortable now would you?"
Whatever else he had been about to say was quickly forgotten at the mention of the shooting stars. Gaze focused away from Z long enough to make his own wish.
"I wish...."
The first two words spoken, Demy managed to keep the rest to himself.
...to make Z proud...
Sure, he had -tons- of other silly wishes he could have made. But that one was important to him! His friend always tried to make plans, always tried to push him forward (hey, the whole band thing had been Z's idea!). He owed it to the shorter boy to make him proud.

Everyone had gone quiet, making their own wishes, and Tallulah found herself contemplating the sky as well. What did she want? She thought about wishing about colleges or grades but it all felt silly and self-centered. Wishing for world peace was, of course, pushing it, but you couldn't waste a meteor shower on little wishes about exams and universities.
She looked up, watching for meteors, and thought she'd hit upon something. She didn't think it was too big or too small. No, this was a Just Right wish. A Goldilocks wish.
I wish we all remember how to be as happy as we are now.
