Rayne smiled and said, "I am Rayne. I am your daddies friend." She tickled him a little more and then flipped him back over on his belly. "You looked so cute I thought I would give you a little tickle. And don't think I don't know you are back there little ones."
San and Sly sighed and went back to laying down out of the tickling tails way. They watched her warily.

Kuhn put his nose in the air. "Alright. Just don't try anything funny." He walked over to his sister and brother, his tiny feathered tail pointing straight up.

Rayne raised one eyebrow and looked at the little haughty Nova. She laughed a sound so loud in the echoing den that she knocked both Sly and San on their butts.

Kuhn sat near San and Sly, grooming his longish ears and keeping one eye on Rayne. He yawned... he was still young, so he was already worn out even though they hadn't been up for that long. "I wish dad would bring our food already." He said, his tiny stomach growling.

With those words a wet and unhappy looking Wulfe walked through the den entrance with four big fish in his mouth. He let the fish fall out of his mouth, they made a wet squishing noise as they hit the floor.
"Thanks for handling the kits Rayne. I trust they weren't too much of a handful!" He looked pointedly at Sly. Sly gave him a look and said, "I didn't do nothin'!" Sly then set upon and began eating one half of a fish, sharing it with his sister San.
Wulfe pushed one slightly smaller fish towards Kuhn. And said, "Dig in little one!"
Then he looked at Rayne and said, "Care to join us...?
"I would love to Wulfe but I have places to be for right now. But I will drop in later and visit." She wandered out after giving Kuhn one last tickle with her tail.

Kuhn stuck his tongue out when Rayne was turned away. He'd show her one day when he was big and strong! He looked at the fish. He hadn't had anything like it yet. His mom had fed him bird, but solid food was still kind of new. He took a hesitant bite, and then realized... it was delicious! So he dug into it like Sly and San.

Wulfe watched as his little kits cleaned the meat off the small prickly bones of the fish. He was watching them eat to make sure they didn't get hurt on the bones, and he was ignoring his fish other than that first scant bite.
"Does it taste good little ones...? I am sorry I took so long, I didn't know if I should feed you fruit or fish! That is almost all we have down here near the lake!"
"Where you all good for Rayne...?" San and Sly nodded yes. Then he looked at Kuhn...?

Kuhn's eyes shifted downwards. "I was good." He replied. Of course, he hadn't done anything wrong! She had been the one tickling him!

"I believe you Kuhn! I wasn't mad. I was just wondering...?" He liked Kuhn on the head and said, "I am glad that you were a good boy!" Wulfe sighed. It was so hard to keep children happy. He was hoping that Carmen was happy. He was caring for their kits very well.

Kuhn finished the last bite of his fish and stood up, stretching. He was completely exhausted now and his belly was full. 'Maybe a little nap wouldn't hurt...' He thought to himself, circling around and curling up in a warm corner. His tiny jaws opened to let out a soft yawn.

Wulfe watched his little Kuhn wander to the corner. Soon after San and Sly followed. Creating a little knot of a warm bundle.
Wulfe smiled and padded over to them. He licked all three on the head and then curled up to sleep around all three of them. He was a happy father. All three of them turned out so well. He smiled in his sleep.
It was the first time he had smiled in over 3 years.

When Kuhn woke up a little later, the sun was still in the sky and there was a while before it got dark. He nudged his father. "Hey dad. Daaaad." He said, pawing at him. "Can I go outside and explore?"

Wulfe woke slowly and cracked on eye to see his son pawing him. He yawned and looked outside. He sighed and said, "Sure... Why not... But I have to come with you and so does your brother and sister."

Kuhn fluffed up a little. He was old enough to go out by himself! But he didn't say that out loud, letting out a sigh. "Fine." He nudged Sly and San. "Com'on you slowpokes!'

Wulfe sighed... He could see it in Kuhn's eyes. Wanting to explore on his own... Silly kit... "Listen son... There are dangers to our world... There are big scaly lizards named Skeptos, and big mean birds called Orus that eat us... Just like we eat the fish..." He looked at his son hoping he understood and stayed close.
San and Sly got up deliberately slow and walked out together. Catching up with little Kuhn. Wulfe followed closely behind them.
