A scrambling and scratching as the girl before her hauled herself up a mangled tree. Vyn’s teeth gnashed together in frustration, why was Lulu making her escape so easily? She willed her rune to support her, but it only produced the faintest of flickers in response to her command whilst the rabbit’s fluttered into life and began to carry her away from her. Vyn’s dark eyes glanced upwards, the sun was clouded. That was why her rune was so unresponsive – if her skin could soak up the blessings of the firey ball in the sky then she could stand a chance of catching up with the girl, but no, the weather had conspired against her and now she was stranded until the darkened sky came clear and she could recharge.
Cursing, though her foul thoughts were not conveyed in words – language had long fled now, Vyn lashed out once more taking out her frustrations on anything she could reach. Now that she had crawled past the bush that consisted of the fallen leaves on the floor. Raging her woody nails ploughed into the earth and shredded the bright mix of leaves. Hissing she took handfuls of the crisp foliage, scrunching in her powerful grip. They were mocking her, oranges and yellows mimicking the fallen red of her own petals.
Potent tears rolled down her cheeks as she continued this frenzied destruction of the environment around her. She couldn’t stop – she had to take over this whole area now. It was a war; every plant, every animal was the enemy. However, her body wouldn’t allow her war of destructive attrition to persist... Slowly and surely the rose’s limbs drooped, falling limply to the damp ground. Her eyes rolled backwards painfully. Finally some peace was granted to her turmoil filled mind as she fainted.
