Varun did not want to get on the bus. Even with a pretty girl attached to his arm (and boy, the kitten was certainly attached now!), the leviathan was still not convinced this was a good idea. He eyed her speculatively and gave a small shrug of his shoulders. He did not want to. But she wanted to. It was quite the conundrum, honestly.
Heaving a small sigh, he tipped his head and weighed his options for what seemed the hundredth time. Finally, he decided, he would leave it up to her.
"Do you want company?"

Var was actually too wussy to go on the bus? Wow. No wonder he got beat up so badly by Rivener. The cat raised one thin eyebrow, but just smiled and replied, "I'm fine if you don't want to come." She wouldn't throw it in his face how much of a wuss he was. She would just laugh about it later.
Lucia smiled, and shook her head slightly, mirth in her eyes. Either way, she was going to the cemetery in Barton without him. Having him accompany her on the bus wasn't important. "You can stay here and find a pool in this town!" She smiled sweetly, trying to tell Varun not to worry about her.
The driver of the bus honked his horn indicating that if Lucia was coming, she needed to get on the bus now. Floating towards the bus the cat turned and waved at her friend. "Maybe next time we can see each other more!" Floating up the steps she waved her fingers, "Byeeee!"

It was a good thing Varun did not have the ability to read thoughts. The thought the black cat thought the leviathan was wussy would have sent the aquatic Frei into a tizzy of proving his courage and strength. However, the fact of the matter was, Lucia was a very draining presence to be around. She was very pretty, and the redhead certainly appreciated this for all it was worth, but pretty is as pretty does. He found her just as high maintenance as himself, not that he'd ever admit to being high maintenance, or he thought she was equally so.
Be that as it may, Lucia's company wore him down. The virus had already been doing a good job of that and Varun could feel his energy dwindling. It seemed that she was going on the bus without him, whether he actually wanted to accompany her or not, so the leviathan simply waved and nodded his head. "Good bye," he replied, sighing softly as he looked around. Now he needed to find his way home.
