Eh, putting this technique up for checking since it seemed that I failed to add it to the clan technique under under Hanabira's name... My bad... sweatdrop

Great Long Ranged Technique [Dai-Kyori Nagai no jutsu]
The user concentrates chakra to their eyes, focusing them for viewing long distances. As long as there are no obsticles obstacles blocking their view, the user will be able to see an opponent far far away. While also concentrating chakra to their eyes, they also are concentrating chakra to their hands. As their hands hold the arrow, their bow and their eyes pinpoint their the target. The user will release their arrow infused in wind chakra to fly steadily towards the target.
CP Cost: 60 per arrow
Damage: + Chakra Mod to Normal Long Bow Damage
Requirements: Detect 40, Ranged 40, Control 30, Ninjutsu 10
Special: Can shoot a target in another 'nearby' thread/distant area. + Sneak Attack to roll/damage if hitting target in other thread/distant area.

Clan Name: Orochi
Join Status: Open
Owner: Lithlius Nailo
Members: Seshiro - Chunin (Lithlius), Shisei - Genin (Katz)
Affinity: Wind, Secondary Earth
History: Said to be the children of the Gorgons, the Orochi clan has mysterious origins. No record explains exactly where they came from but as far as the clan has shown they originate from wild lands. Their home became the Swamps of Rice Country where a great Temple was hidden. They established a tribal way of life centered on the adoration of the seven headed snake O-Kagashi and seven elders that looked over the clan. From the swamplands the clan began to spy and use others in order to bring up their ranks and skills to someday take over the Rice Country. However, those plans were destroyed...
A great battle with the Ninja of Shimagakure took place in their homeland after exchange of information and spying done by both sides. The clan was destroyed in their homeland, but at a large price to Shimagakure as well. Their Kage was turned to stone with no hopes in reviving him. Very few survivors of the clan remain and those who do live are on the run. It is said that some of the survivors know the truth of the Orochi Clan origin and are hoping to journey to their homeland. Those who don't know the truth of their past are in search for those clan members that do.
Limit Description: The people of this clan are born with a genetic mutation in their DNA making them appear with serpentine characteristics. The mutation remains as a recessive gene in a dormant stage throughout the life of an Orochi not expressing itself naturally. The mutation makes all members appear with white skin and slit yellow eyes similar to those of a snake. Members of the clan have found a way to trigger the gene out of dormancy. Once a year a ritual trial is performed of those who come of age. Taking the venom extracts from a white snake only known to be native to Rice Country a special vaccine is created. This vaccine can be a great blessing or a death penalty. Those fortunate will have their recessive gene triggered and manifest. This manifestation further alters the genetic code of the individual, maximizing their abilities and immunity to snake venom. Those unfortunate die.
Stage One
All Orochi are born into this stage. The minimal traits of the genetic mutation are shown in this stage. That being serpentine yellow eyes and very pale skin. In this stage they also have an unparallel ability to strike and evade at this stage. Similar to how a snake strikes. Unfortunately such freakish features make other people and animals restless around clan members.
Requirements: None

Physical Description:
- Snake like yellow eyes
- Pale ivory skin
- Dreadlocks
In Game Stats:
1 per 5 character levels to Agility
-1 per 5 character levels to Charisma
Stage Two
When an individual comes of age they may take the venom ritual to become a true Orochi warrior. It activates the dormant cells of the individual allowing a full manifestation of their appearance and abilities. Teeth of the individual grow into poisonous fangs with a forked tongue, making them even more terrifying to behold than before. In certain parts of the body, muscle mass increases. This unfortunately leads to the loss of their agile movements as seen in the first stage, but it leads to a new advantage. Similar to pythons and constrictors, the newly gained muscle mass is perfect for crushing victims. This forced mutation has also rearranged brain cells giving the clan a new insight and understanding to genjutsu. Unfortunately genetic alteration is double edged sword. While granting new aptitudes it leaves the body more susceptible to environmental factors that do not fit with the individual.
Requirements: Level 10

Physical Description
- Stage One Description
- Small venomous fangs
- Strong Claw like nails
In Game Stats
+ Character levels to Grapple
+ Character level to Intimidate
+ Character level to Genjutsu
- Character level to Persuade
- Character level to Fortitude
- Character levels to ???
- Immune to clan poisons and all poisons made from snakes.
Special Abilities for Stage Two:
Skin Shed Healing
The clan can go into a hibernation state where they can shed their skin thus healing any skin wound they have. This ability can only be used once per day and they must not be disturbed during shedding. They also can not defend themselves while in hibernation. However, the moment they are bothered, they will wake and the healing process will be incomplete.
The user can hide during battle do use this ability, however if the user is disturbed, the healing process is incomplete.
Undisturbed for 3 posts.
Special: +50% Heal HP
Poisonous Bite
By using a grapple attack, an Orochi clan member may bite a victim with their fangs and poison them. The effect of the poison will be those of the Orochi clan poison. The poison will stay in their system until they use an antidote or have the poison removed by a medical shinobi.
Initial Damage: 1 to 10 + Chakra Mod + 1 per 10 ranks Fortitude
Continuous Damage: -10 Hp per post
Special: You must make a successful Grapple roll before biting on your next Grapple roll.
Amount of Poison available: 1 bite per 5 Character Levels.

NPC: (No Stats, only Bio.)
-Orochi Sachiriku[NPC]-Dead?
-Orochi Oboro[NPC]-Dead

Lith, we're stuck on balancing out your clan. Here's the deal. You have bonuses in two attacking skills; Genjutsu and Grapple. You have to a negative to a major attacking skill; Ninjutsu, Fuinjutsu or Control.

Pick one. Control does go hand in hand with Genjutsu. So, it really doesn't make sense to have a negative to control, especially since most your clan techniques are genjutsu. We just need to figure out the bonuses so we can build your techniques towards the make-up of your clan.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 13, 2009 3:54 pm

Well Taking into consideration what you just said I guess the obvious choice would be FuinJutsu since the clan has some Ninjutsus in the jutsus list as well!

Ok then so far so good. Hit me with the other stuff!

Uchiha Clan In-Game Bonuses:

Stage One
The user receives their first tomoe and their eyes turn red. This stage can only be reached when the user encounters their first life threatening situation. The Sharingan will only react to the user's physical reactions. All bonuses received from the sharingan also count as a handicap to the user when the sharingan is not activated. Meaning if your sharingan is not activated, all Bonuses will count against you.
Requirement: Threatening situation.
Cp Cost: 3 + 1 per maintaining post
Activation Bonuses:
+/- Character Level to Detect
+/- Character Level to Persuade
+/- Character Level to Lie

Stage Two
The user is able to mimic techniques. They must meet the requirements of the jutsu in order to return it back. A second tomoe emerges in the eye.
Requirement: Threatening situation or during battle with someone of nearly equal ability in which you need the stage to win.
Cp Cost: 5 + 3 per maintaining post
+/- Character Level to Spy
+/- Character Level to Sneak Attack
+/- Character level to Escape

Stage Three
The user is now able to use a special genjutsu which strikes fear into even the strongest of shinobi. It makes it seem as though the user is predicting the actions of his opponent, but the user is just messing with the target's mind. A third tomoe appears in the eye.
Requirement: Near death situation or during battle with someone of noticeably greater ability in which you need the stage to win.
Cp Cost: 10 + 5 per maintaining post
+/- Character Level to Dodge
+/- Character Level to Sense
+/- Character Level to Intimidate

Stage Four (Mangekyo Sharingan)
The last known stage of the sharingan is a dangerous one. The user of the Mangekyo will learn that the chakra that changes the eyes becomes sinister and begins doing damage to the body. The user is able to chose whether he wants to go into Stage Four or Three now when he activates the sharingan. After using Mangekyo so many times, the user will begin to go blind without the sharingan.
Requirements: Loss/Murder of a loved one.
Cp Cost: 20 + 10 per holding Post
+/- Character Level to Ninjutsu
+/- Character Level to Genjutsu
-(x2) Character Level to all Sharingan abilities until next day after use.

This is what it currently is. The most significant balancing factors are that Uchiha shinobi who don't have their Sharingan activated receive a -lvl penalty to every stat that the Sharingan effects (believe me, this is a nasty penalty). Below, I've listed a few of the skill bonuses that I could see taken out.

Stage One:
+/- Character Level to Persuade
+/- Character Level to Lie
(Especially since we've taken those stats out and replaced them with beguile anyway)

Stage Two:
+/- Character Level to Sneak Attack (This one is very powerful. It makes sense for Sharingan users to receive a bonus to it, but it's super strong, so to be fair, it could possibly be removed.)
+/- Character level to Escape (Including this one never really made sense to me.)

Stage Three:
+/- Character Level to Intimidate (Maaaaybe this one. I know that I've seen the Sharingan actually intimidate people in the anime, so it makes sense to keep it, but if it is viewed as overpowered, it can be removed.)

Mangekyo:
+/- Character Level to Ninjutsu (It makes sense to leave it in the clan, but the Mangekyo will already lead to the unlocking of two-three awesome jutsu, so if we take it out because it's overpowered, that would be okay.)

In my opinion those are the ones that could be removed. I think that the ones that I left out should obviously stay in the clan's bonuses, because they define what the Sharingan actually does.

In addition to the stat changes, I believe that the Copying technique should be altered to allow it to copy elemental ninjutsu that isn't within the user's affinity. It is sort of pointless to limit it to their own affinity.

It does seem like a nasty penalty, but how many times out of training would a sharingan user fight without their sharingan activated? While the penalty is great, a sharingan user always has the option of changing their penalty into a bonus. If one were to train directly in chakra like the character, Tenmoki Aya, a person theoretically could have no penalties when it is to their advantage.

One thing I like about the Sharingan eye in this format, something I can't really do with the Hyuuga is its possibility of build up. I would say maybe instead of so many bonuses and penalties immediately maybe make stage 1 only have one penalty and negative. Stage 2 have the bonus and penalty from the previous plus 1 more. Ex:

Stage 1
+ Character Level to Detect
- Character Level to Beguile

Stage 2
+ Character Level to Detect
+ Character Level to Spy
- Character Level to Beguile
- Character Level to Fuuin

This is just an example.

I could see the clan more with Spy than Sneak Attack. Sneak Attack seems to be something more physical or mental to a person and not done by the eye, but we can discuss that one more.

To some degree I can see Escape in terms of evading a grapple although that may also have to do with physical prowess and not the eye.

Leave Intimidate for the Mangekyo as that is the scariest form of the Sharingan. Since the Uchiha are a genjutsu based clan take out the Ninjutsu bonus. The Genjutsu one can stay.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 18, 2010 10:11 pm

I think the Mangekyo would only ever be used to get to one of the elite Uchiha jutsu, so unlocking Intimidation at that stage makes it sort of pointless. I've seen a Stage Three Sharingan intimidate a member of ANBU's Root, so I'm convinced that Stage Three is plenty scary enough.

Okay, so this is what I have added so far, let me know what you think, Katz.

Stage 1
+ Character Level to Detect
- Character Level to Beguile

Stage 2
+ Character Level to Detect
+ Character Level to Sense
- Character Level to Beguile
- Character Level to Fuuin

Stage 3
+ Character Level to Sense
+ Character Level to Detect
+ Character Level to Dodge
+ Character Level to Intimidate
- Character Level to Beguile
- Character Level to Fuuin
- Character Level to ???
- Character Level to ???

Mangekyo
+ Character Level to Sense
+ Character Level to Detect
+ Character Level to Dodge
+ Character Level to Intimidate
+ Character Level to Genjutsu
- Character Level to Beguile
- Character Level to Fuuin
- Character Level to ???
- Character Level to ???
Special: Character receives -x2 level to all skills for the remainder of the roleplaying day after the Mangekyo has been deactivated.

I've had a few thoughts about what the two ??? negatives could be. I was thinking Hide and Focus, because I haven't often seen an Uchiha hiding, and they seem to work alone quite a bit, so it would make sense if they had trouble with teamwork. These are two major skills to give penalties to, keep that in mind.

For stage 2 Focus was put instead. Having both detect and sense at the same time is usually a whopper. That and if they're that focused on tracking the opponent, they've probably lost focus on some of the outer things around. That and of course there's the team thing.

Stage 3 I put in Athletics to go with it. Even though the clan seems to be athletic the higher up in sharingan abilities they move, the less they seem to move around and focus on that ability. Their ability to read the opponent's movements allows them to use the least amount of energy to evade, but I don't see them as making them in most physically fit shape then. Ex: How Lee was able to get around Sasuke during the chuunin exams based on his physical fitness. You can leave Intimidate.

Stage 4 is about the same as stage 3. They've excelled highly in Genjutsu, but I don't see anything too amazing with their Taijutsu or athletics at this point. Also doesn't the user start losing their sight after unlocking the Mangekyo? Wouldn't that mean they should get a penalty in Detect also. The penalty to all skills covers use of their techniques, but I believe their eyesight is always going bad the moment it is unlocked. That should be something to consider.

Zu and I had agreed that the roleplayer would be responsible for making their character become blind over time if they used the Mangekyo too much. This is why the clan was very difficult for anyone to get into, and the Mangekyo is extremely hard to unlock. I've been in the guild for years and Sukotto still doesn't have it. I suppose that we could be more strict about its use, but I don't think that we should penalize people who unlock the Mangekyo, but don't even use it.

I'll agree with the Athletics thing, as Sasuke's fight with Lee clearly makes the argument that you stated.

Also, I suppose you're right about Taijutsu.

Question: Do these negatives happen only when the eye is activated or are they constant?

Now we need to figure out how to be fair about causing blindness when it comes to using the Mangekyo. I suggest that every time a person uses it, the penalty lasts longer and longer. Example: Every time it's used, the character will have -x2 lvl to all of their skills for an additional day, meaning they will stack. The first use will result in -2x for one day, the second for two days, the third for three days, and so on.

The positives and negatives only occur when the Sharingan is activated. If not activated the user has no positives or negatives. That is how I was picturing it.

We can go with stacking of additional days for the Mangekyo for now. It may have to change cause sometimes a day rp time can be a very long time and I don't know how much patience people with have with penalties for a while. It can stay so though. Anything else?

Two things. When the Mangekyo is unlocked, should the Uchiha have to train to use the special clan jutsu, or should they just automatically unlock it?

Finally, can we have the copying technique copy any non-kekkai genkai ninjutsu, genjutsu, or taijutsu, as long as the requirements are met? The copier will have to pay double the costs. I suppose that an argument against this would be that everyone can learn more affinities eventually, so the Uchiha would eventually be able to copy stuff beyond their own affinity.

On a side note, there is an Uchiha kekkai genkai technique named "Mirror Heaven and Earth Technique" that allows them to copy and then reverse a genjutsu back on the original user. They could be forced to learn that in order to copy genjutsu.

1. Have the Uchiha train to learn the mangekyo jutsu, but you can have the requirements small and not make it a requirement to activate the mangekyo to learn the mangekyou jutsu. For instance, by the time the Uchiha is able to activate the Mangekyo sharingan the requirements could already be met. They just have to go through a three step training to learn the jutsu like other jutsu.

2. Copying Technique
In order to copy a technique, the user must be attacked by it in battle. The user's of the sharingan then have that technique in their arsenal. However, they do not fully understand it and therefore expel more chakra than necessary to perform it. Sharingan users can only copy techniques that they fit the requirements for. They must have the skills to use it. Sharingan users can not clan only techniques.
Cp Cost: 2x the Cp cost of the technique being copied.
Requirement: Stage 3 Sharingan, Intelligence 30, 20 Ninjutsu, 20 Taijutsu, 20 Genjutsu
Note: All copied techniques take 2x the Cp cost for the player to use. Taijutsu techniques cost the max damage range of the technique. This is in effect until the technique is properly learned and all requirements are fulfilled.

How's that look?

3. I was avoiding this technique due to it is the one that basically killed genjutsu users in the anime and manga. Although we could balance out if ya really want to use it. If you just want to use it to copy genjutsu there's no need to. Just go with the copy technique for that. If you want to use it like how it is in the manga and show then we'll have to balance it out.
