Genji clapped his hands over his mouth at the sight of the slaughtered rabbit. A horror gripped his chest, and he felt chilled. However, he could not let that small incident muck his training, but it stop him from being the first to try. He did not want to be the first student to kill a bunny if it came down to that.

(one of my characters traits was to see stuff at subatomic level therefore he was quite good with reaitsu manipulations as I mentioned in profile. Therefore I kind of want to play the characters profile and considering its a low Kido wondering if the 1 posting is enough.)

Kinsetsu proceeded to grab the chain and begin the Kido. He concencrated the reaitsu energy at the fingertips linked to the chain. He could feel the warmth of the energy as it formed at his fingertips. Feeling the appropriate power and manipulation was formed he proceeded to yell out Hado 11 Bound Lightning The energy in its motion shot through the chains and towards the creature behind the rock.

He was less hesitant to kill so he had not used much power with the shot but he knew he had performed it correctly. The animal let off a soft cry meaning the attack had done the desired effect. He only hope Yamoto would understand he knew the Hado without forcing him to fully demonstrate it by killing the creature.

"Captain Yamoto, I hope this is the desired effect you were looking for."

Patrick grabbed the little creature, swinging it around in one hand and occasionally poking it, to see how it would react. Biting him with it's great teeth Patrick didn't flinch nor scream in pain but rather took a look at it.

Deciding now that it wasn't worth keeping alive Patrick chained up the small rabbit and begun to focus, charging their Reiatsu into the chain with a feeling of malice, it wasn't a particularly good idea considering this was their first time with the spell.

"Hado Eleven, Bound Lightning." A blast of electrical power ran through the chain, it was rather too violent to be strictly classified as a Bound Lightning and killed the poor creature outright. All that was left was a steaming and melted pile of flesh and guts which slipped out the chain making a sickening thump.

Inside Patrick's Zanpakto the sound of a face meeting a palm could be heard.

Genji was still groping himself nervously. The other shinigami, too, felt for the rabbits, yet they were able to suck it up and practice the kido. At one point or another Genji would have to do it too. He took a chained rabbit. It was precious with fur as white as a fine pearl. Its nose winkled cutely.

How can I do this? Genji thought. Genji shot his eyes tightly. He forced the reiatsu into into his gripping fingers in a concentrated and orderly haste. This is one way. "Hado #11 Bound Lightning!"

Genji's heart shut off for a few seconds to block the rabbit's scream from scratching at his emotions. It was a losing battle. The rabbit screamed as the energy torched it. It died instantly. Genji's eyes whinced open. Though he was success, he felt awful.

Tso had mixed feelings about the kidou. She was happy she got it to work but upset that it took her twice to do it. Something wasn't right when she tried it the first time. Maybe her focus was off because of her feelings toward killing the bunny. Being a Kitsune made it twice as hard for her to kill an animal. She had to focus in order to master the kidou.

Walking over to the group of bunnies Tso knew that she was going to get some mean looks from the other Shinigami's for what she was about to do. Bending over she grabbed another bunny and stormed back to where she was standing before. Putting the bunny on the ground Tso focused and could feel her spiritual energy rise. The warmth returned to her body and hand as it has done so many times before. Tso yelled out, "Hado #11 .... Bound Lightning!" The heat wave over took Tso's body and raced down her arm to her finger tip again. Leaping from her finger and onto the chain the bunny shook just like the other one did and then feel to its side. Smoke could be seen coming from it and the chains. Tso smiled knowing that she had mastered the kidou.

"You shouldn't exercise such cruelty against the helpless, Patrick. It's a poor show of character and it makes you look weak."

As if out of nowhere, the Captain of squad eight appeared behind his subordinate, arms folded across his chest with a look of sheer disgust on his face. Being an acomplished kido expert, Tansen had agreed to assist Captain Shiboo in training the selected shinigami. Choosing to observe them first however, he had casted a cloaking kido upon himself so that he could get a look at the students he would be teaching in peace. What he had seen from his subordinate both shocked and disgusted him, and he wanted him to know it.

"...We'll talk about this later."

Leaving Patrick behind him, Tansen walked over to where Yamoto was and gave a nod in his direction to acknowlege the fellow Captain before clearing his throat and adressing the other shinigami present.

"Nice to meet you all, I'm Captain Tsurugi of squad eight, and I'll be your fellow instructor during this training. It looks like all of you have gotten the hang of this kido for the most part, so I'll take over for a little bit and teach you the next spell. Now then..."

Placing his left arm outward in front of him, the shinigami Captain's eyes slowly changed from emerald green to electric blue as he manipulated the reiatsu through his body. At first there was a perfect sphere of emerald green reiatsu, which slowly twisted itself into a large circular frame. Finally, the inside of the frame slowly filled itself up with even more reiatsu which then began to swirl at high speed, completing the kido, which was revealed to be a powerful looking shield.

"Bakudo number Thirty Nine, Enkosen [Arc Shield]. Instead of most Bakudo spells which are designed for immobolizing enemies, this one creates a powerful shield from the caster's reiatsu to protect them from enemy attacks. It's at a slightly higher level then what you're all used to, but I'm teaching it to you all first because it's going to be one of the most important spells that you'll learn today.

As you all saw just now, I performed the kido at a slower speed so that you could observe it. There are three crucial steps. First of all, you need to shape the frame of the shield with your reiatsu. Make sure that it's good and sturdy before moving on. Next, fill the inside of the shield with your reiatsu to make the base, this is the easy part. Finally, you need to add a rotation to the reiatsu in the center in order to add power to it. This will take great concentration, but I'm sure you can all do it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask either myself or Captain Shiboo."

The shield in front of him dissapearing, Tansen once again folded his arms across his chest as he waited for the shinigami to make their attempts at the shielding kido. He was a bit worried that there may have been too big of a gap in level compared to the last kido, but was determined to stick with his decision. Letting out a small sigh, the young captain decided to have a little more faith in his students and turned to Yamoto with a small smirk on his face.

"I hope they at least do better than I did when I made my first attempt at it."

Tso watched Captain Tsurugi-San work the kidou and smiled. This kidou was going to make her focus more which is what she needed plus, she wouldn't have to hurt another animal in the process.

Tso watched Captain Tsurugi-San and then walked a good distance away from the others so as not to harm anyone if the kidou goes south on her. Tso puts her right hand out with her palm facing up and closes her eyes. Focusing her reiatsu she can start to feel the warmth it produces throughout her body build up first in her chest and then making its way down to her right hand. When Tso opens her eyes the color of them changed to a deep crimson red and the sphere which is now floating in her right hand is the same color. The sphere seems to change size from small to medium every couple of seconds. That is because Tso is trying to control the amount of reiatsu used to make it.

After a few minutes the sphere seems to stay at a smaller size. Tso then says, "Bakudo #39 ..... Enkosen ... Arc Shield" Tso's makes the frame of the shield. It's not very big but, big enough to cover her height. Filling the shield from the base begins which as per Captain Tsurugi-San said, it seemed easy and it was. The shield filled from the base up with Tso's reiatsu pretty fast which kind of shocked Tso. Once that was done all she needed was to add the rotation to the reiatsu in the center in order to add the power to it which wasn't going to be easy. Tso was beginning to feel drained from using so much of her reiatsu on the spell. Taking it one step at a time instead of running with the spell at full force was draining to her but the best way to learn the spell before running full force with it.

The center of the shield begins to fill with Tso's reiatsu, first slowly and then faster and faster until Tso looses control of it and it overfills causing an explosion sending her flying back a good 20 feet to the hard ground. Laying their breathing heavy but unhurt, Tso slowly sits up and smiles .....

Sejiro was excited to learn the new bakudo even if it was a defensive spell. Anything will make me stronger, he told himself. Sejiro took note of the explanation given to everyone by the new captain. It seemed easy enough to accomplish but as he found out earlier, with the first hado, looks can be deceiving. Brushing out all disbelief and doubt, Sejiro closed his eyes and slowly raised his right arm, extending his hand into a stop motion. Gathering reiatsu from his body, he focused most of the flow into his arm. "Bakudo #39, Enkosen!", he shouted. A dark blue sphere began to appear in front of him growing and shrinking in size due to Sejiro's lack of control. He focused more, clinching his teeth and frowning his face as if to force it into a success. The sphere dispersed into tiny particles and disappeared. Sejiro let out a sigh, I must not use force, he thought to himself, flow like the ocean Sejiro and you will complete this.
