This weird new development wasn’t going to stop Vyn from going to her friend’s Halloween party. Now that the excruciating pains and aches had dimmed she would leave the house and she would see Lucia. Ethan might not like it and he could fret and advise her against it as much as she wanted but in the end, whether he gave her a lift or not she was leaving the penthouse and going round Lucia’s for a good Halloween party; she’d had enough of being cooped up in the sterile flat. Luckily, her guardian had seen the unusual determination in her dark eyes and had reluctantly caved into her demands, but that didn’t stop him from giving her one last lecture as they pulled up to the spookily decorated house. “Now Vyn, you know I’m not overly happy about this-“ A sigh of annoyance cut him off and his brows twitched in frustration as his raevan’s developing insolence. “But I want you to promise me that if anything goes awry you’ll phone me so I can pick you up. That means if things get rough or you feel odd... Understand?” He glanced in the mirror to check that his charge was paying attention in the backseat.
Vyn stared back, arms crossed huffily over her chest with a leering pumpkin where her lap would be. “Yes, yes. You said that when we were leaving... May I get out now?” She retorted, stunning bold for the normally quiet shadow. Taken aback he nodded and quick as a flash the frei was reaching for the handle and letting herself out before he could change his mind. A gnawing sense of worry resided in his stomach but Ethan tried to suppress it as he waved goodbye out of the window. It was good that she was getting more confident and actually wanted to socialise; sure, a little politeness wouldn’t go amiss but he put it down to being cranky after being ill. Plus her cheeks could be a source of irritation to the rose... He couldn’t do any more now that she was floating up the path to the doorway...
Halloween was another of the events in the human calendar that baffled Vyn, however, unlike Christmas and Valentine’s day the slightly morbid feel to the festivities appealed more to the girl’s gothic look. For the party she had rushed together an outfit but it had come off quite well despite the fact it had been a rather last minute affair. Perched on top of her messy wine red hair was a witches hat decorated with spindly web patterns and she had invested in a long sleeved black corset top for the event too. Though she was most proud of what she had done with her face. She had put a lot of effort into her makeup; red eye shadow heavily placed around her black eyes, perfectly emphasising (in all the right ways) the rose petals that were peeling from her cheeks.
It would be interesting to see how other raevans that she had met previously reacted to her peculiar peeling skin, though she wouldn’t have to wait long as it appeared as though two familiar faces had also just arrived. Sevilin and Melisande. Smiling she approached them, an autumnal wind carrying the newly developed fragrance of roses towards them and announcing her presence before she could speak.
“Hello, Meli, Sevilin...”

YES! She had captured her prey. Now was the time to kill. It was time for the kiss of death. All she had to do was wrap her mouth around the bunny’s to keep it from breathing and she would have her meal. Lucia’s eyes narrowed as she pushed LuLu’s arms down to the floor. Opening her mouth, the cat bent to press her lips around the weakling’s mouth.
As a knocking came from the door, a low growl escaped her lips. Lifting herself up, she was determined to give whoever was interrupting her meal a piece of her mind. Who would DARE stop her from finishing off her prey?! Spinning around and completely ignoring the other raevans she had already let into the foyer Lucia grabbed the door handle, turned it sharply and violently threw open the front door. ”What the fu--- AHHH!” she yowled and hissed at the door rebounded on its hinges and banged into her side. Lucia winced and cowered slightly as she lifted up a wounded elbow, her other hand grabbing it and rubbing. ”WHY THE HELL IS IT CALLED A FUNNY BONEEEEE!!!” Pouting slightly, Lucia’s eyes went round as she saw who was standing at her door. ”Pasha! Sevilin! Vyn! Girls, our costumes are all so pretty!” she purred. Both the pain in her elbow that was shooting up to her shoulder and down to her wrist, and the friends she was so happy to see at her door made her forget about her prey completely. ”We all look so beautiful!”
Lucia moved out of the doorway to let them in giving each a kiss on the cheek as they entered.
Yuurei smiled and nodded at Josh’s statement. ”It’s kind of a family tradition, but if you’ll excuse me I think there are a number of people here to whom I should probably introduce myself. Enjoy yourself, please!” Picking up her glass of dark red wine, the blonde walked through the study, decorated with tons of rubber animals (spiders, rats, snakes) and made to look like a haunted room: complete with moving paintings, flashing lights, and an occasional ghost. Opening the door that lead from the study to the foyer, her eyes opened wide with how full it was. ”Hello everyone!!! I’m Yuurei and welcome! Please continue into the house! There are plenty more decorations to see!” she called out, trying to raise her voice above the murmur of people talking. How did Lucia manage to get so many people here…and how many still had to show up?

"...Vyn!!" It took Melisande a moment to recognize her old friend. "Ooh, look at you! Your costume is so very interesting!" Still holding Sevvie's hand, Pasha dropped into a queenly curtsy, free hand spreading the ruffles of her short white dress. Something sweet carried on the wind, and Meli tilted her head, eyes closing a bit as she sniffed. "Mm, and you smell good, too!"
She gave the rose Frei a one armed hug, and jumped a bit as the door banged open. Letting go of Sevvie's hand for the first time, Melisande jumped, both hands clutched against her stomach. "OH!" Heart racing, Pasha tried to calm herself, but such a surprise when she was already nervous was hard to overcome.
As soon as she realized it was Lucia on the other side of the door, her fright turned to relief. "Ooh, Lucia! You scared me!!" She accepted the kiss on the cheek as they all drifted in, and returned the gesture with one of her own. "And we DO look beautiful! You most of all!" Aki had told her to always extend kindness to the host, and Pasha was glad to do so.
"Thank you so much for inviting us!" She pressed her gift into Lucia's hand, a single chocolate in the shape of a fish, wrapped in cellophane and tied with an orange ribbon. Drifting farther to the side, making lots of room for Sevvie and Vyn, Pasha took a moment to look around the room. Not only were the decorations amazing, but there were other Raevans here! Ones she had never met!
Pasha paused for a moment as Yuurei made her introduction, and waved back with the fingers of one hand. Although it was a general introduction, the muse took it as an opportunity to introduce herself as well. "It's good to meet you, Yuurei!" Melisande used a bit of her vocal training to project, her clear and sweet voice ringing. "I'm Melisande! Hello!" She looked meekly at the other Raevans, the flowers at her temples tightly budded. "Hello!"
There were so many of them...and one was on the floor! It seemed like an interesting party already!!

HO'GOD! A BEAST--no, just another Reavan. Jeez, on a day like this, sneaking up on people should be outlawed. Thankfully, Melisande piped up before Sevilin could make a fool of himself again. "Oh, hi Vyn!" The sea nymph greeted, his nose unconsciously twitching as his smile pulled at the red band-aid that covered the bridge of his nose. "You look very...." Eh, what's the word? We`rika used it all the time. "Sexy! Right?" He looked back at Melisande innocently, not too keen on the implications of that word. "Right!"
A nice voice entered the group when the door behind them opened and a familiar black Raevan beckoned them in. Ah, it was ohhh what was her name? Well Pasha answered his question. Lucia. He smiled nervously at the frei, knowing how much of an a** he had been to her at the pool party. "Hi! Th-Thanks for inviting us. It's... nice to see you again!" He ventured, hoping there was no hard feelings between them.
He followed his golden haired friend and curtsied to the one human he'd seen so far. "Hi! I'm Sevilin!" If Yuurei had been under any suspicion of his gender, his boyish voice certainly sealed the deal.

LuLu winced slightly as Lucia drew closer. The rabbit's ears shuddered in alarm. Of course, Lucia was a familiar person. A sweet raevan. Nevertheless, the bunny felt on edge when the sleek feline frei had begun to loom over her. Red lips hovering just over her own rosy tinged mouth. LuLu did not enjoy being so close, especially since she was the one being pressed into the flooring. The wood gave a soft groan as Lucia shifted. LuLu took in a sharp breath of air.
A knock sounded at the entrance to the house.
Suddenly, the pressure one the rabbit's chest was gone and she was relieved from her duty as Lucia's next scratching post. LuLu got up from her compromising position on the floor to examine just what had stolen away Lucia's attention. Her eyes were met by two lovely female raevans; an entrancing swirl of blond and red. The bunny's eyes were caught up in their delicate outfits and flawless demeanor. It was a sight to behold. LuLu would never admit to the slight flutter of jealously she felt well up in her chest.
Then her lavender eyes focused on something... blue. An almost inaudible growl escaped her lips.
Sevilin.
Josh chose the perfect moment to make his way back into the main room of the house. He noticed an agitated LuLu, denoted be her steadily fluffing fur, standing in the center of the room and a perfectly harmless Sevilin meandering through the entrance way. The boy interviewed quickly. He took his raevan by either shoulder and spun her away from the siren. "Go get punch Lu, ok? Do not come back til you do. I am a thirsty man!" He chided her nervously. His best attempt at a distraction.
The raevan barely had time to react before she was shoved in front of swirling bowl of red liquid. She sighed before she carefully took a cup from the table and began to scoop a well measured amount of juice into the container. In the back of her mind she began to question her guardian's sanity again.
It had been a while since she had done that.

Ahh! There were so many girls!
One moment ago, Lucia was on top of LuLu in some strange dance, and only one moment later, three more Raevans had arrived! And they were all- No, wait. Varun narrowed his eyes at the other aquatic Raevan and quivered his fins. No, no, that one was a male. A most...peculiar looking male, but the Leviathan was fairly certain that voice was of a male. The redhead scowled and floated a bit closer to the newcomers. Why, pray tell, did this one get all the attention, exactly?
Huffing softly to himself, Varun floated over to the other fishy Raevan and folded his arms over his chest. "Have not seen you before. Heard, yes." Tariel had told him there were other fishy Raevans. "Like Varun, yes? Only not." The Leviathan splayed his headfins as though it were an explanation. Only they were not entirely similar, because, well, he was better!
As though an after thought, he nodded to the rose Frei, whom he'd met breifly, and to the blond. "Hello, Vyn, and...?" He hadn't caught her name!

Oh my goodness. What was that? That thing coming towards him. Oh my--it was a red HIM! His hair... was sooooooo ... no! No it wasn't pretty! Was it? YES, YES IT WAS! It was soo sleek and perfectly straight like his. And those fins! But this frei was much more masculine than he. His jaw was sharp and strong. So were his arms and posture. Ow, his chest stung with the pains of jealousy.
Tightening his cherry-red lips into a polite smile, Sevilin curtsied like a good royal monarch. "You've heard of me, eh? I hope all good things..." His grin was sickly sweet and pinched the band-aid on his nose. "Yes, we do look.... very similar..." Okay, okay be nice! Sevilin didn't know him yet. he could be a really nice guy, it wasn't his fault he was so pretty. Easy, Sevvie. "Varun, is that your name? I'm Sevilin, it's nice to meet you! What are you supposed to be? you look very.... big and intimidating....."

A smile tugged at the rose’s lips as Sevilin deemed her sexy; yes, the boy had to glance at his companion for confirmation of the statement but Vyn was pleased none the less. Lucia loved to call good things sexy which meant that she must look pretty good. That, combined with Meli’s compliment on how she smelled made her beam and she returned the compliments eagerly. “You both look wonderful too. A matching pair..” She drifted closer to them and lightly tapped the heart painted onto the nymph’s lips, surprising even herself with how forward the movement was. When she withdrew the heart remained unsmudged but the faintest imprint remained on her finger. “Very pretty Sevilin, did you do it yourself?” She asked curiously before the door snapped open and all three of them jumped as Lucia yowled about her wounded elbow.
Vyn frowned at the fuss the cat was making but her slight annoyance at the high pitched moans quickly evaporated when Lucia said that they looked pretty and gave each of them a peck, however the brush of the kitten’s face against hers dislodged the first petal of the evening and Vyn blushed slightly as it fell serenely to the floor. “Sorry about that. They’re pretty but a nuisance...” She explained, lightly touching her cheeks brimming with petals. “They developed the other day, but other than falling off occasionally they don’t do much.”
Rather than lingering on the possibly awkward issue she took the cat’s hand in a friendly gesture and followed the other guests further into the room. A few familiar faces appeared before the shadow and she cast a casual eye over Varun, whom was now engaged in conversation with Sevilin. On their first meeting the red head had been as fiery as his hair... Vyn would greet him later. Next face she recognised drew a nasty tightening in her chest. Domevlo. Despite coming to terms with Gage’s death and rebirth the sight of her best friend’s face reanimated was a bitter medicine for the rose to swallow, so rather than greeting him she engaged in further conversation with her feline friend.
“I have the necklace with me.” She stated, using her free hand to cup the jewellery that rested as per usual on her bust. It went well with nearly everything the frei wore and as a result she had only taken it off for bed since being given it. “We were going to swap it after we arranged to meet up and you gave me the balloon message, but I was ill..” She paused, let go of Lucia’s hand, and unclasped the hook. “It’s your turn now.”

Varun watched the other aquatic with raised eyebrows, every other statement driving said eyebrows up higher and higher until they nearly disappeared in his hairline. "Samurai. For Kinsey," the redhead explained quickly, patting the armor on his chest. This Sevlin? Sevilin? He couldn't be too bad, not if he noticed how impressive Varun was right away. Preening a little, the seasonal Raevan tipped his head and gave the older Frei an appraising look.
"Sevilin?" he asked, pointing at the other Frei. He nodded, trying to force his meaning across without having to use words he had yet to learn. "...what...what are Sevilin supposed to be?" he asked, calling upon the phrase he'd just heard. The redhead wrinkled his nose, hopping he'd used the string of words correctly. While words were all well and good, roping them together seemed to be giving the Leviathan a run for his money.

"Ah, no!" He shouted to Vyn, waving his hands wildly. "Aki helped me with the costume, and Melisande's. She's very handy with costumes! We`rika isn't at all..."
"Oooo a samurai..." Okay, he could see it now: topknot, the particular armor. Yeah, samurai worked for him. Sevilin would look retarded if he tried to pull that off. He remembered how silly he looked last year as a sea monster. Everyone thought he was a soggy cucumber. But whatever. He had found exactly what he was good at now. Looking cute, not scary.
"I am the Red Queen! Like the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland? Yeah..." He ran his hands down the round shape of his decorated dress, hoping Varun caught just how awesome he looked. "Is this your first Halloween, Varun?" He assumed from the level of this red frei's grammar and syntax he couldn't be very old. Probably hadn't completed a full year yet.

Tariel floated up the stairs to the front door, Kali waiting on the sidewalk behind her. The golden armor was gone, replaced with a teal sea-shell bikini top. Almost-transparent gloves gave Tari fins and scales along her forearms. Peeking out from her dark hair were translucent conch-shell ears. The girl had been desperate to come as a fish, after learning about the dressup portion of Halloween, but had allowed her mama to talk her into being a mermaid instead. Almost the same thing (and still fishy), but more magical. Tari couldn't argue with that logic. "You remember the rules?" Kali asked, as Tari reached up to knock on the door. Tari nodded. "No touch boobs. No let others touch boobs. No removing top. No kissing. No leaving party-house, not even with Raevans or other Raevan-mamas. Mama will pick Tari up in few hours. Yes."Nodding at the complete, newly updated list, Kali let her daughter continue. She stepped back into the shadows, allowing Tari to do this herself, but ready to interfere if necessary. She wouldn't relaxand leave until Tari was safely inside the house. Turning back to the house, Tari knocked on the door. Then rang the doorbell. Then waited. That was how it was done, right? "Hello, hello?" she called out. (( Ears and fins-plus-scales, though Tari's top is just Little Mermaid style. ))

Even amongst the hum of the crowd that surrounded him and the succeeding rooms, Sevilin jumped at the sound of a rumbling knock and high-pitched bell. Good lord man, he needed to get control of himself. it was just Halloween, nothing real here! Absently, he looked to his side, finding Melisande still chatting. Lucia was busy with Vyn and he wasn't exactly sure where the catgirl's guardian was.
Would it be so rude to open the door? It wasn't his house, but... maybe the host would appreciate a little help? Besides, the front yard was bloody scary. He couldn't allow anyone else to stand out there shivering and waiting for a savior, especially when he could be that savior! It made him swell with pride.
"Hold on ooone second okay, Varun? I'mma get the door fer Lucia!" Inching past the group of Raevans was no easy task since his dress was the circumference of a globe, but he managed. Tugging the handle with all he could muster, the sea fairy greeted the--whoa.
Sevilin's deep blue eyes bugged. When had a girl of the sea come into being? And her hair. He was sure it was sooo soft to touch. "Uhhh........" Finally, his gaping maw snapped shut.
"Hi, sorry... Hi! Uhhhh.... oh come in! Duh haha wow..." This was going real smooth. "I'm Sevilin! I.. don't think we've met before. What's your name?"

Tari beamed as the door opened. Obviously she'd done it right, after all. Another social situation saved by televee knowledge!
"Hihi!" she half-sang to the red 'woman' who opened the door. She would have given the costume - and it's wearer - a closer inspection, but her attention dropped to a small card in one hand. "Thankyouforinvitingmetoyourparty. Itwasveryniceofyousincewehavenotmetbefore. Tariisverygladtomeetyou... Loo-kee-ah," she stumbled over the unfamiliar name.
Speech (provided by her mother) finished, Tari looked back up again and beamed. And then squeed, spying the fishy fins hiding under that red hair. "FISHY!" Cue the flying glomp. Releasing him, she did a double take, recognising the face. "Sevvy? Is Tari! Tari in disguise!" She twirled to show off her (barely-there) costume. "Tari is magic fishy-girl! What Sevvy?"

"Ah--! Ehh--! .... Oh--" For once in his life, Sevlin was the one unable to get the word in edge-wise. "Ahhh haha actually this isn't my house, this is Lucia's.... Lucia is what I think you were tryin' ta s--ohmygosh!" All the little frei could do was hold onto her bare arms for dear life. Wasn't the guy supposed to be doing the twirling?
"Ohh.... Yes! Tari! I--yeah, you... didn't you have armor? Yes! I remember you, I'm sorry haha! you just looked so different in yer costume." His big smile returned to his face. Her little strut made it grow a little wider. "Ehhh yeah you make a great fishy-girl." Eventually, his eyes were pried away from her torso and back up to her pretty face. "I'm the Red Queen!" He did his own twirl for her with a soft laugh. "Here, c'mon! Let's get out of this creepy porch. Come inside and see everyone else...!" Grabbing her hand gently, Sevilin guided the frei back into the house with the rest of the party-goers. "Hey, look who I found!"

"Oh? Is Loo-shi-ah? Loo-sha?" Tari tried to mimic Sevilin's pronunciation of their host's name. "Is Raevan Tari has not met. Is here, yes?"
Tari beamed at the compliment her costume earned. She clapped appreciatively when Sev made his own twirl. "Very pretty disguise, yes! Tari like. Sev very pretty."
She happily followed the fishy Raevan inside, waving over her shoulder at her mother before disappearing inside. It had been a long time since the last Ravean party Tari had been to - an this was the first that was being held by another Raevan, instead of the Lab. Tari was excited!
"Hihi!" Tari called out to the room at large. Looking around there were quite a number of Raevans she didn't recognise - either because they hadn't met or their costumes functioned like the disguises Tari kept misnaming them as.
