Well, my band director does give us some slack, but we're generally overlooked for the saxophones who always have the same part as us. >,>

HA! NO WAY. Our whole mello section is retarded new kids who can't barely play A SCALE almost half way through the year. They suck. ><

I've always had band directors that played brass, so they've always been a little bit biased towards the brass. Don't know about mellophones in specific, though.
In high school I'd swear that the mellophones were a little bit more arrogant than the trumpets, though!

Bassoonist I've always had band directors that played brass, so they've always been a little bit biased towards the brass. Don't know about mellophones in specific, though. In high school I'd swear that the mellophones were a little bit more arrogant than the trumpets, though! Same here. He is always focusng on the brass and having brasss ectionals, while us woodwinds are forgotten.

we have two (thats right 2) mellos in our band and one of them kinda suck and the other is amazing

Not really. I got a high five the year I marched mello for being able to out play the whole band but rather than that our directors forgot we even had a horn, and then this year our mello player was always told she was out of tune and again is forgotten XD

BTW EUPHONIUM RULES, 2nd best section but thats because there are only 2 of us

well, she tries to bc she WAS a mello player.
But low brass is better since euphonium is better. Not to brag but I'm 2nd best in our low brass section maybe even the best.

Our mello section is pretty awesome, except for this kid named james... he is really annoying... but the rest of them are really cool and talented. The only problem is that we don't have enough of them... they play their parts really well but they get eaten by the rest of the band because they can't pump out enough sound.

Uh well one of my pals is a mello but they aren't gods... the trupets in my band WISH they were (especially the section leader) but they're not... if I had to pick a section i would say... none honestly, my director is hard on all of us

Marching Band no Jutsu Does every band have a perfect mello section? I'm pretty sure that's the stereotype for them, that they're perfect. I mean, my BD is a pastor, and he treats those girls like gods. He doesn't hesitate to listen to any of their opinions or thoughts. On that train of thought do you guys have a shitty section too? (baritones, baritones, baritones.) hey hey hey now wait a minute! i hope you are talking about YOUR baritone section, cuz ours is good! (yeah, i'm one of THEM) the mellophones in our band are ok, but there aren't that many (5). they are treated like all the others (except trumpets) our trumpets sound like they just ran the mile and tried to play. that cuz all the good players graduated and now the trumpet section is made up of mainly freshman.

BTW EUPHONIUM RULES, 2nd best section but thats because there are only 2 of us hell yeah! we had 8 in our section but (2 freshys, 1 being me) the other freshman ran off cuz a) he came late b) he got scared cuz we was so loud XD especially one of our sophs. our BD calls him "jack-hammer tongue Victor"
