She watched him react, all the way down to his groaning and collapsing, which is when she rose from the couch and moved to place the bottle on top of the television set.
"You're pitiful," she commented softly, now moving towards the loveseat and removing the old quilt that lay on top. Grendel enjoyed his comfortable perches throughout the apartment, so Nea had left blankets and quilts here and there to assist in making the spots more comfortable. She refused to think of it as any sort of kind gesture, and more so about trying to cut back on cat hair spreading everywhere. Stupid cat.
Taking the quilt, she set it beside him and lowered herself to a crouch. One hand moved and lifted his foot up, her fingers nimbly attempting to remove his soiled shoes. Goddamn b*****d already ruined her couch, practically, and she wasn't about to have his shoes continue to make a mess wherever they tromped.
"You need sleep," she ordered, talking as her hands worked. "I'm not about to let you use my shower when you can hardly stand up on your own feet. So you sleep, and when you're feeling better, then you can go back to getting yourself killed by your flouncin' darlings."
Rising back up, she winced as pain shot through her back, her own body aching as she moved. Grabbing the dirty shoes, she made her way back into the kitchen and placed them in the sink. Jesus, it was going to take forever to clean up this apartment, ugh.

"Love you too, babe." He managed to grunt, his throat feeling raw and sore. Once he ever managed to get back home, he needed to take a shower. Obsidian reluctantly admitted he was confused when he realized she'd gotten hold of his ankle, and took his boots off for him. Such a peach, his Nealite--and she'd heard his unspoken request for a shower.
With a light snort, the man would gingerly reach for the quilt and clumsily stuffing it under his head as a makeshift pillow. "Kay." He didn't really have much more to say than that, watching her as she rose, gripped by her own pains even as she seemed to ignore them for now to better care for him.
"...Take care of yourself." He called after her even as she disappeared out of sight, and could feel the first pricks of concern under his skin even as he finally let his eyes close tiredly. Sleep first.
Then it'd be his turn to make sure she was all right when he woke up again.
