Devin was disappointed, to say the least. He'd been expecting actual treasure, not some sandwich. He frowned slightly, and half-heartedly clapped his hands. After all, they had worked hard to find it. It was an achievement, somewhat.
"You don't have to thhare," Devin told his new friend with somewhat of a forced smile. He wasn't being generous. He didn't like the idea of eating a sandwich that had been under sand and water for any amount of time, even if it had been in a bag. Gross! "You keep your treathure, thith time."

Pirates were not generous by nature, so Cailean shrugged and opened the baggie, pulling out a somewhat sodden PB&J and biting into with relish. "Ye sure?" She asked through her mouthful, holding the baggie out to Devin. He had helped her, after all. And the sandwich tasted so much better for all the work she'd had to put into obtaining it. Maybe next time she would bury some gold or something!

Devin shook his head when she offered him the baggie. "You keep it," he said with feeling. Ugh, he didn't want a sandwich that'd been buried. His Daddy could make him one later. "It'th your treathure, kay? But next time, we thare." As long as it wasn't another buried sandwich. Yuck. To hide his disappointment, he smiled at her. "We make good treathure hunting team."

Cai nodded, greedily devouring the sandwich. It was a little bit brackish, but still tasted good as far as she was concerned. "Aye." She agreed with a solemn, jelly-smeared nod, we do.
