about all of the above
be eventing it it up try zOMG in non peak hours to get zOMG item
and stalking GCD for an item list
probably a little extra all depending on how hard or fast things go 3nodding

I usually devote my time to collecting event and "Trick or Treat" items...
...however, since they started adding new stuff to ZOMG!, I do attempt to get enough stuff to at least make one of every special event recipe.

I always try to get all the items on my own, I only buy is I really tried hard and still couldn't get them all.

Personally I am running around this guild all the time.

I try to work for my items, but if I can't get them all in the time of the event I'll try to pick them up in the MP, that is if I like them enough.

For me, it depends on what is required to get the items. If it's another pvp, I will probably just buy the items.

Instead of spending long hours trying to get items ( I might do that if there that good LOL ) I'm just gonna try to enjoy the event LOL

but I always end up missing a few
items and just dropping some gold

Sleep is for the weak when there is an event going on. scream
I am always glued to Gaia during events. I never buy the items off the MP unless I absolutely have to. I somehow become, y'know, determined when there is an event going on to do it all myself.

Eh, I don't have the patience for an all nighter. At first I usually work fairly hard at it but then it depends on how well the event can keep my interest. Some of them are just to dull to finish.
I hope this one has a developing interactive plotline. It would be awesome
if it went in stages.

I do some art stuff, stay up all night to get the items, but not in a crazed panic to be first.
This year I might try going at it hard just to see if I can make some profit off selling some stuff though.
