Yes I have read it and no one novel is not the complete source on the matter, even if Graham is the second best marine author out there.

The Inquisition also has access to Exterminatus weaponry, otherwise they would be quite ineffective when facing heresy on their own, having to rely on the whims of Space Marines to destroy a planet as soon as possible.
Lexicanum is a nice source of information, only it is horribly rife with fan theory and fan speculation, making it less reliable than officially written background and information.

Lexicanum is a nice source of information, only it is horribly rife with fan theory and fan speculation, making it less reliable than officially written background and information. But the Inquisition is Bared from using them. I dont doubt that in the most extremely extreme situation an Inquisitor may use them... such as mars or Luna is targeting Terra with something big... or some other incredibly horryfing situation. But Marines are fast to respond to Exterminatus as they are all threats. So the Inquisitor that has called the death of millions of people can just hurry up and wait... maybe he can make some popcorn for the coming show.

You are horribly versed in fluff. they are bared from launching it themselves... sorry i should have clarified... They must call a nearby Adeptus Astartes Battle Barge to carry out the actual bombing of the world.

AFAIK, it is marines having the missiles, inquisition having the football (launch codes etc.) Marines probably could launche exterminatus all by themselves, only to be hunted as renegades soon... (Istvaan bombing and Horus anyone?)

I agree with Vikki and Mac, the minority of your fluff is bullshit, honestly.
The Space Marines and Inquisition both have ships capable of Exterminatus, the Inquisitors do not need permission, because they are the Emperors will, so they basically represent the Emperor, meaning they only take orders from the authorities I stated earlier. The Inquisition can call in Space Marine support, if there is no Inquisitorial ships within distance, and the Marine ship will bomb the planet when discussing it with the Inquisitor, and with a good reason, they will. If not, then the SM will cleanse the planet themselves. The Inquisitor, stated no where at all, is bared from using Exterminatus, so please.
BHS, you can try and show me the error of my ways, or you can stop talking s**t and listen to people who know their stuff for crying out loud.

BHS, you can try and show me the error of my ways, or you can stop talking s**t and listen to people who know their stuff for crying out loud. How about you stop acting like a punk and look at your fluff... I know what I am talking about. I have researched Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Imperial Navy, Exterminatus, The Inquisition, The Ministorum, and the Echlisiarchy through and through... I have read a majority of the WH40k Books and am working on finishing all of them. I have googled, Lexicanum, and talked to others into the wee hours of the night. Did you not read what I wrote? The Inquisition is not bared from using Exterminatus on a planet, they are the only ones that can order such an extreme measure, however, they are not allowed to carry the warheads to do it. That would be like telling a man he could kill without penalties and then handing him a loaded gun... The reason Space Marines are required to cleanse a planet is because they make sure the Inquisitor is not about to annihilate a world for no good reason. They will cleanse the planet if required, before setting loose Exterminatus. Don't challenge my knowledge of fluff... I KNOW what I am talking about. Maybe YOU should check your s**t next time.

That's not how it works. Astartes are autonomous and answer to nobody, same for the Inquisition. The Inquisition does not kindly ask any Marine vessels in the vicinity for a Virus bomb, nor do Marines of all people police the Inquisition. The Inquisition polices itself, they don't let Astartes or any other outsider do so.
And Mars or Luna of all places targeting Terra? Luna is the orbital dockyard of the Segmentum Solar and Mars is cradle of the Adeptus Mechanicus.
But then again what is my fifteen years in the hobby compared to Lexicanum? talk2hand

Seriously BHS, I know plenty of people here feel this way about you.
Your a arrogant little s**t, listen to your ******** betters please.
You don't know what your talking about, ask any of the members here who have played for many years, I can ask the managers at my local shop, and I know they will agree with me, since we have discussed it many times before. Stop been so bloody cocky, and learn to know when you're wrong. You astound me that you haven't realised that you are completely wrong about the Inquisition not been able to fire an Exterminatus by themselves. The Inquisition was made because the Emperor needed a sect of people to carry out his will, maybe in the dark corners of the Imperium or any other battleground, why would he not give his most feared and powerful agents access to the most feared and powerful weaponry? Inquisitors are obviously trusted, since they serve many years as an interrogator, or some other ranking like that. What happens when the Inquisitors find a daemon planet some where, with a ship that could carry the weapons for Exterminatus, but only had the codes. There is no Space Marines close enough to reach the Inquisitor before something nasty happens on the planet, then what will he do? He's screwed. That is why they carry Exterminatus gear, and among other reasons.
Ask any one BHS, you are wrong.

Actually, the history of the Inquisition is rather shady. According to the Inquisitor rulebook they came into being after the Emperor ascended the Golden Throne of Terra as a split faction partially bent on making the Emperor a god, partially hiding the truth behind him being a powerful mortal.
Bah humbug, we've strayed too far off topic again. Anyway, the Navy provides transportation for Guard army groups, air support planetside and patrol the space lanes. Remember the Gothic War you babies!

Look who is over here acting all high and mighty... You are... I never said the Space Marines Police the Inquisition. And I never said the Inquisition polices the Space Marines... Even though they do... Because its there job... and if you look at why the where set up its not to enforce his will... its to make sure his will is enforced. The Inquisition exposes The Mutant, The Heretic, and The Xeno's. The Inquisition would be nothing without the fighting branches of the Grey Knights, The Holy Sister's Of Battle, Or The Various Kill Teams of the Ordos Xenos. Luna or Mars attacking Terra was an example of when the Inquisition might need to carry out exterminatus. Its a dire situation that would never happen. But since I can never be right then go ahead and bask in your self righteousness. I QUIT For the rest of you other guild people. Have a good day.
