Tar let out a slight huff of breath as Kalani spoke - hadn't they already answered this question? He had thought he had been pretty clear - perhaps he needed to speak slower. The dark male was getting crankier by the moment - here they were so very close to their goal and this well whoever he was seemed intent on holding them up with repetitive questions.
Knowing that whatever he said now would probably seem somewhat surly and ill tempered the long suffering male turned his head to blink at Tal...she with her gift of patience and words would most definitely see them through this incident without causing an argument - or a fight. Tal did not want to fight with the only informant they had managed to find in well...a very very long time, and so he wisely kept his smart and cranky remarks to himself, just looked beseechingly at Tal.

Tar didn't have to wait long. Kalani's words had stirred a frown to Tal's face where excitement had been moments before. "'Sacrifice'?"
She glanced at Tar nervously. She didn't want to join this pack, only to find out that they needed to give up their first born pup for a ceremony. They'd come so far, though... "I don't... want to lose future pups to sacrifices... or myself. But we've come this far already, it seems almost... foolish, to have found our way only to leave now."
The realist in her was commenting that it was a bad idea to ignore something bad in order to see the good in it, but Tar was already looking a bit testy and she wanted to prevent ill relations with Kalani. Besides, she knew that Tar would agree that they still wanted to find this pack. How long would they be wandering if they denied this chance and went looking for a new pack? How long would they be roaming, losing the chance for the safety of a pack? Tal wanted children sometime. She didn't want to lose her chance to mate meaningfully with Tar and have children.
"We want to join. We wouldn't have come all this way if we didn't." She lifted her light purple eyes from the ground and met Kalani's gaze forcefully. "If you can bring us to them, please, do. It's been a longer journey than you know. I think we're both tired of waiting."

Kalani couldn't help but laugh at Tar's comment.
"You won't be giving up pups don't worry. I have two myself." He smiled at her reassuringly.
"Please follow me. There will me much for you both to learn about the pack. We have one alpha and two betas, me and my mate. The pack is small at the moment and in a delicate state. Normally you would need permission from the alpha to breed though with the circumstances, we could do with more life so I give my blessing." He then started to head back to the packlands. He was always paranoid about bringing strangers to the lands but the pack needed more life and it was his job to find them. So he led them to the pack and if they were to join, then they were now part of the pack.
"Here we are...." He started speaking as they reached the pack's borders. "These are the borders to the lands." It was slightly obvious as the scent along the border was strong. "Welcome to your new home. I am sorry I must leave you again but I have to be out looking for other wolves. My mate Twila is the brown femme, generally with two pups around her if you need anything. She will tell you everything you need to do and introduce you to the alpha as well." He spoke softly to them but quickly. He really did need to get out and about. It was lucky that he had met them so close to the borders.

Tar gave Tal a reassuring look as Kalani spoke, as thought to say, there you see..no need to worry. In any case Tar wouldn't let anyone harm their future pups regardless. Beliefs or no beliefs on that point the black male was pretty firm, neither for that matter would he ever sit idly by while someone attempted to harm Tal and he nudged her gruffly on the shoulder with his muzzle to remind her of that fact.
When the other male set off at long last to show them the way, Tar despite his ill temper of before had a slight spring in his step - he was tired of thier endless wandering and wanted at long las to find a place to settle down. Oh thier might be a few bumps along the way but Tar was certain it would all work out in the end, he was rather glad to have kept his mouth shu throughout thier exchange with Kalani once the other wolf spoke of being the packs beta, that might have been an ill start to thier lives here afterall.
"We can find our way from here" Tar remarked as Kalani apologized for leaving them again - he and Tal had gotten as far as they had on thier on after all and it wouldn't be hard to follow the abundant scent trail back to the dens, Heleft Tal to take care of the more diplomatic good-byes.

Twila.
Talas'An committed the name to memory and looked off towards the Sanctity's main den, as if she could already see it.
"We will look for your mate to guide us once we reach the pack. Thank you," Tal agreed once Tar had spoken. She nodded to him. "Good luck searching for others."
She turned her head to Tar and nudged his front shoulder, then began walking the way Kalani had indicated, excitement beginning to flow through her veins again. Their quest was finally at an end! Tal barely kept herself from doing a dance as she walked, but she did nuzzle her mate again, unable to keep herself still. Now they would find themselves a new home, a safe home, a home where the possibility of raising a family was so close Tal could taste it.
