(well thank you, I think your Sabbath is almost too cool for poor Keenile. Poor fish is all nervous now xd )

Keenile did not pull his arm away. He wondered which was worse to Sabbath, to have people ignore his markings or ask about them. He nodded a bit then gasped as he was dragged closer to the other. The movement splashed water up onto his shoulder where as the other traced the circles on his shoulder the marks would darken just after having been touched. It was almost like Sabbath's touch was marking Keenile's pelt.

The bright male in a bit of confusion asked softly, "Does what always do that?" He looked over the other's pelt and then his own, "Everyone's body gets darker in the water....yours is too..." He did not like his patterns at all. As the darker male leaned in Keenile could not help but blush brightly, "W...whats wrong....does what do it too?" He finally started to figure out it was in fact his markings. "Oh...my marks....um...yes....they always do it...the one of my face is the worse...there is a black pattern that shows up when wet. It covers my whole ride side of my face. It is as horrible as suggested your markings are."

(and I doubt he realizes *baps her boy*)

If asked, he'd answer honestly, 'neither' they didn't bother him, if he knew the horrible story behind the marks, maybe the answer would be different, but for now it was not an issue to him.

"Yea, but yours is somehow... different. If you don't mind my saying so." Sabbath wasn't they type to dunk someone else, nor to be actively forceful all the time, when he was he didn't realize if he was being pushy or not, he was just being himself, he leaned back again after getting a look at the tan swirls and lines that almost disappeared in the blue markings and the ear hair, but for when Keen said that they darkened further when wet. If asked now he's admit that he wanted to touch them with his wet fingers and see. "They're very vibrant," he said it with a positive tone and smirked a little, letting go if Keen wanted to move now. "the blue, it nearly glows, not like I've seen before." He managed to be a little sheepish, without fully apologizing. "Couldn't help but take a closer look. I wouldn't call it horrible."

Sabb took a moment to look at his own pelt, sure it was a bit darker when wet, but it didn't seem at all changed to him, maybe because he was used to his own skin. Red, gray, black, white it was hardly as interesting.

Feeling his wrist finally dropped Keenile moved back to where he first got in to give the dark male more room. He shifted his hand out to look at his wrist and the bright near glowing marks. "I know I am different. As are you...I really like looking at you. You are very pleasing to my eyes." He blushed a bit at having said that so boldly and then he sighs, "If you want to see the marks on my face I will duck under for you to see it."

He lowered his hand back under the water to rub his other arm. "I don't like being so bright...a friend of mine when there were still katorai here would always make fun of me...and hiding is hard to do when I glow when wet..."

Sabbath shook his head, when Keenile had said that he didn't like his own marking, Sabb had tired to compliment them, but it didn't seem to sway the water male's opinion of himself. Sabb managed to smile at the other, they'd both been on their own, seeing something, someone different and new, they were both mutually interested, it was only natural. The grass was always greener, or so they liked to say. "As is everyone, different I mean. Or do all Undine glow when they're wet? You're the first one I've met."

Sabbs settled back a bit, the warmth of the water soaking into his skin and easing his weary muscles, he wondered if he should stay here for a time, rest up before heading south, a vacation of sorts, before his migratory trek. He didn't want to intrude on Keenile's hospitality though. Putting his attention back on the conversation he answered, "Doesn't really sound like a friend to me, making fun of you and all. But it's no big, you don't gotta dunk yourself, if you say you don't like it, I don't have any reason beside idle curiosity to see it. Plus, your head'll get cold, I don't want to be at fault if you got sick from it or something, and no one'd be here to take care of you."

Keenile nodded his head, "Yes we are all very different. As far as I am aware I am the only Undine that I have met that glows. Maybe I was not meant to be an Undine?" He laughed softly. "It would be funny wouldn't it? I fyou thought you were something all your life then it turns out you were not what you thought you were...or were meant to be? Still I feel at home in the water so glowing is not bad."

He looked up as he heard Sabbath move. "I am sorry if I upset you...you seem a bit down. I know a small Inn that has been deserted if you wish to stay the night. It is near the bay...It is really just a building that has five rooms...but I think it was going to be an inn."

His head tilted as Sabbath seemed concerned with his well being. "I will be fine if I am wet I don't get colds. And if I were to get sick I can take care of myself. I have this long." he smiles sadly and ducks under the water. Sitting under the water for a little bit he moves closer to Sabbath before rising up from the water. He was almost within the other's lap as he rose but he wanted to make sure that the dark male could see the marks.

Just as Keenile had said underneath the glowing blue rings and patterns dark grey letters looked to be branded underneath his fur. The lettering was not something they could read for it was in the writing of the gods. But they writing took up the entire left side of Keenile's face from his child to the back of his head.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 30, 2009 8:30 pm

"Don't think that way, I was just curious, not judging ya. If you feel at home here, you're meant to be here, if you feel at home in the water, you're meant to be Undine, that's what I think anyway, whatever my opinion is worth."

Sabbath shook his head, "No, you didn't I don't think I am, just travel weary I suppose. An inn? How nice, sleeping inside would be a nice break from sleeping on the ground, I'll take you up on that if you don't mind me hangin' around for a while. I'll do what I can to help you while I'm here, so I'm not a freeloader." He grinned, watching as the other dunked himself, watching the sad smile vanish under the water surface, waiting with a small frown of his own, it seemed to him that Keenile was very lonely, he just wouldn't or couldn't admit it. When he popped back up again so close, Sabbath didn't have to lean in to see the markings darken, but he did none the less, lifting one hand from the water and tracing the letters, brushing the wet hair back from his face kindly.

"They're deeper than the surface of your skin..." He murmured, moving his hand away when he realized what he was doing without thinking. Dropping it back into the warm water. "That's just what it looks like to me. You've always had them, you said?"

The tracing of the marks made Keeniles's eyes widen a bit. He had never had another traces the marks and it made him blush. The blush darkened when he felt how close he had gotten. When Sabbath's hand dropped Keenile moved to sit next to the dark make the marked side of his face turned away. "I have always had them. Thank you for saying I should be an Undine. I just never know any more. I mean maybe that is why everyone left? They found out this was not what they were meant to be or where they were meant to stay." He looked up at Sabbath and smiled for once it was not sad but sligthly amused. "Your not a freeloader...but there really isn't anything for you to do here...when your done with your soak I will take you to the inn."

He pulled himself out of the water. Marks glowed on him all over. Mostly circles, waves and swirls, but it seemed that no part of the yellow male did not have a teal or cyan glow in some manner. He moved over to one of the larger rocks and laid on it. "They are still warm form the sun if you wish to dry off when you get out."

Sabbs wasn't quick to notice that he was causing the other to blush, and by the time he did Keen had already moved away. If he said anything in apology that would only bring the embarrassment to light and further it, he thought, so he glanced away and said nothing, having meant nothing more than to get a closer look without thinking if would bother the other to have him so close. "Said it cause I mean it," He nodded, "but you're welcome just the same. I suppose...?" Sabb shifted deeper into the warm water. "Well alright, but if you think of anything. I think I wanna stay in just a bit more if that's alright, or maybe we can go and give it a looks see, and I can come back and soak again later." He added when Keen got out, he moved over to lean on the taller rocks watching the Undine male still. "So what do you do here, Keenile?" He had yet to climb out just yet, but he felt a lot warmer than he had before and relaxed.

Keenile's duel colored eyes flashed in the moonlight as he rested his head on his folded arms. "You can take as long as you need....once I stop glowing I will head to fix up the inn for you and then return. I do not want to bother you with my presence too much."

He looked away from the dark male as he tired to think. "I don't know what I do. I guess I wait. I try to keep the buildings clean when I think of it. I talk to myself so I still know what words sound like. I don't really fear possibly being the last of our kind." he turned to face the other again and laughed softly, "At least you or I were not a female. Then I would say, it might be our job to try and keep our species going. But we are both male, and we are unsure that we are the last." He look mildly amused at the thought but it faded quickly just like the dark marks on his face. "There isn't really any danger around here to fear so walking at night should not be a bother if you wanted to come back here later. I can rig something up if you wanted to call for me too if you had need of me later tonight."

"You're not a bother, don't worry so much~ Besides I think I've warmed up enough for now actually."
Sabbath chuckled lightly at the younger male's notion, he wondered if Keenile knew that the Mana goddess didn't care what genders bled together in her presence, he'd seen proof of that in his wandering, perhaps because Keenile had not seen the rest of the world, he only knew what the regular animals and creatures did to further their species and bring offspring into the world.

"Kittens, huh?" His eyes twinkled as he flashed a teasing grin at the other male. "In all my years I never stopped to father any." He lifted himself out of the water and seated himself on the warm rock beside Keen. "'Though I never stopped for long anywhere... We don't know each other very well yet, but I'm taking a liking to you and your bay Keen, if my presence -won't be a bother to you-, perhaps, if there was a reason I should be needed, think about it, nothing the strength of two could accomplish, bring some life and liveliness back, hmm. I think I should like to stay the winter here, instead of traveling on as I had planned. What say you? Let's go and see this inn of yours, kiddo." Sabbath wrung the excess water from his skin and fur as he spoke, he felt refreshed even after that short dip, and as Keenile has told him he could come back and soak again, even later.

He was never the one to plan things out well, which is why he always traveled with so little, or think things up, even though now the twinkling of an idea was growing in his head, but he had seen a lot in his long lifetime and he had done a lot, he knew how to hunt, how things could be dried and stored, learned from others he had known. Since he'd decided he wanted to winter here, his first thoughts were of feeding himself. On his travels, Sabbath knew that he'd find food as he went, but what resources the quiet bay had he questioned. Keenile had been alone for so long here, Sabbs was sure the other knew how much he alone would need for the cold months, and Sabbath didn't want to burden or starve his new found neighbor, but if it were possible, Sabbs wanted to bring about some happy change, and the way he had thought of was to become a presence in the lonely katorai's life. Whatever the Undine was waiting for, and whatever it was that he himself was searching for, well if it had not been found yet, didn't mean it wasn't to be found at all.

Keenile smiled softly, "I am sorry I worry. But I do worry about friends." He watched the dark male 'slip into thought'. He could not help but look over the other until the mention of kittens. This brought a slight blush to his cheeks. He sat up a bit as the taller male sat on the still warm rock.

The multi colored eyes of the yellow male looked down at the ground. "I think even if you were not around often you could make a good father. I am surprised you do not have kittens some where." he laughed softly and then moved to lift himself off the rock. He turned and looked at Sabbath in shock. "Y...you like it here? With me? I...I am very glad to hear that Sabbath. I really like your company too. And you would not be a bother." He smiled brightly at the other male, "In fact I am sure both the bay and I would be honored if you made this one of your temporary homes. Even if you only come by for a few days ever so often." The Undine male's soft voice was high and excited at the thought.

His ears lowered down a bit in thought. "Maybe we could make this play more lively...again." he said softly then he nodded, "I should show you the inn first. Then I will go and get you something to eat if you don't mind fish and can start a fire." he said softly. For some reason the thought of having someone there with him made the Undine Katorai so very happy. His heart felt so light he almost wanted to jump atop the rock and hug Sabbath tightly. But he resisted the urge and just smiled at the multi colored male brightly. "Sabbath I..I promise you I will...make sure you do not regret it if you stay here the winter!" He smiled and clapped his hands together to keep from reaching out to wrap his arms around the other again. "I...I don't have any blankets but I can help find something to keep you warm tonight."

Sabbath shook his head and smiled gently at Keenile's admission, "I just mean, don't worry about what I think, I'm the kinna guy that'll let you know, you can be the same if you like, tell me I'm bothering you, or you need time to yourself or something. I am the guest here, yea, but this is your home, you should be comfortable too, and not just me. I think we'll be better friends that way." Sabbath sat on the rock shaking out this limbs carefully and brushing up his fur.

"I guess I never stopped to want any, heh, babies." He shakes his head again, still a soft smile on his easy going face. "I don't think that makes for a good father at all, not being around much. We need others, most especially when we're very young. That's not a responsibility that I would be able to just walk away from." Sabbs slid down from the rock after Keen, finished preening himself, for now. "Yea, you don't think you're likeable, huh?" He moved beside Keen and grinned, "I think that's the first thing I'll convince you of. I think this is going to be an interesting winter. Lead on to your inn, after I get a look at where I'll be staying I'll help you fish, how does that sound?"

Keenile nods, "I will let you know...when your a bother. But I don't think you can be. You have not been a bother yet." He turned as the darker male started to brush his fur a bit. And he looked around slowly before he took a few steps in the direction they would soon be heading.

He heard Sabbath slide down the rock as he was talking about offspring. "Well you know they would have their mother even if your not around. And the mother's love would be even greater because her children were from both of you. So she would treasure them more."

His ears lowered at the next thing the dark male said. He had been left by everyone, so it was true he did not think he was easy to like. He turned to address Sabbath but was shocked to find the larger male beside him. This brought a deep blush to his checks that only grew darker at the next set of words from Sabbath's dark lips. "Y...yes it will be an interesting winter. You don't have to convince me of anything...I mean you are staying here with me and that must me you at least do not mind me." He laughed at the though of the multi skinned male helping him fish, "I think the water will be too cold for you Sabbath...but I am sure if you really want to fish with me I can find a way to warm you up!" he laughed softly and hurried on to the inn.

Like most buildings of the rare buildings that were left scattered around the land the Inn was nothing more than shaped stone blocks that were stacked together with thick branches and dried woven palms as a roof. The stone formed two small bedrooms rooms, what looked like it could be a bathroom, then a large living room and a kitchen. In the living room there were two large broken tables and a few chairs. Along one side it looked like there was once a fireplace. Everything was either stone or wood.

Keenile moved into what had once been a wooden door but was now just the frame. Next to the door was a large stone that held fresh water. "If you would like i can lead you to one of the rooms." he said holding out his hand. "It is kinda dark in here, and I don't want you to get hurt Sabbath."
PostPosted: Mon Mar 29, 2010 4:06 pm

"I suppose that is a way to look at it, after all, love and family hold more meaning than just the coming together of two, but still, with babies, the pair has to really want them, you know, of course that isn't the only way to get them..." He trailed off, a slight smirk on his maw, he wondered if anyone had explained 'the birds and the bees' to Keen before he was left alone, of if he had just picked up what he knew along the way.

Sabbath continued to grin and shrugged a little, moving on with the next thought, "I'm guessing that our methods of fishing differ widely, but I'm willing to learn something new, this here hot spring and a belly full of fish could convince me anyway."

Following on Sabbath looked around a lot, since he was going to winter here, he wanted to familiarize himself with the place as soon as possible, and once inside his eyes adjusted slowly to the dim, "Everything looks usable enough," he commented, nodding as if to say 'lead on' and taking the offered hand, "I know a bit about building, so I can help you fix broken things here, build new doors, clean out the fire place... Get some lights in here maybe, candles if we can manage it, or torches maybe?" Ideas were coming to him, vague plans forming and old friends remembered, this would all have to be done with the knowledge that he had collected throughout his life, but at least it had meaning and reason now, instead of being wasted rotting away in his old brain.

Keenile nodded slowly, "Well I do think the parents would need to want the children first too." he blushed hearing that there were more ways to get offspring than praying to the goddess. "I did not know there were more than one way for out kind to have children." His ears lowered a bit knowing he must look foolish now. He knew how fish mated and wild animals. But he was unaware of the way Shade could bring about children.

With the feeling of Sabbath's hand in his he gave a nod and reached for the small bin of water. Taking some water he quickly splashed himself with it to allow him to glow and illuminate the darkness. "Well I am sure I would enjoy learning your way to fish...and depending how well you can hold your breath I can show you my way of fishing." he said softly before his eyes went wide, "You really can fix those things?" He ask and turned around to look at the darker male who blended so well into the darkness. "I would be very glad to see this place fixed. And I will help how ever I can." he said happily before he led the other male to the first of the small rooms. "Here is room one. It is the smaller of the three rooms. The biggest one is in the back." He said as he started to take Sabbath to the next room. He was so glad that his new friend might be staying for the winter. It made him very happy.
