He shook his head at the question and chuckled, "No, nothing's wrong. A certain someone likes to play matchmaker sometimes." G'ail smiled helplessly, shrugging, "She's rather stubborn on that front."

A rumble akin to a laugh issued from Senoth then and she settled her head down on the ground, tired of craning her neck to see them.

"Aye. It's like getting your own massage for a couple hours - she enjoys it a lot and it relaxes her." He grinned and patted the green's side, "To the point where the lazy thing actually falls asleep." Grabbing a spare scrubber, he took up a position on the other side of Senoth where he began to scrub her hide.

"Why'd you choose to keep Standing? Most get discouraged after the first or second time." He asked conversationally.

"Matchmaker?" Nathail looks between rider and dragon now, giving Senoth a more confused once over. Okay, if he ever Impressed.. he hoped his dragon wouldn't want to do that.

He gives a nod of understanding to that. "Oh, I get it I guess." He mimics G'ail and very carefully attempts to scrub Senoth.

"Yeah I guess they do but. I've seen one hatchling go Between since I've been here, and I'd rather keep Standing and never Impress, than just up and leave when there is a dragon for me that will well, do that when I'm not there." He cringes at the mere thought of it.

"Yes matchmaker." G'ail replied, almost in a resigned sort of tone, "If she thinks I fancy someone or someone fancies me, she'll pester me to say hello or plot with their dragon. It's both... enlightening and frustrating at times. I know she's just trying to be kind to me... but really, Senoth, is there such a need to manage my social life?" He glanced at the green then.

Senoth's tail thumped against the ground as she responded, <<Somebody has to look after you, Mine, you certaily don't. Friends and lovers and good things, it's important you feel good too. I can't let mine forget himself. Her gaze shifted from G'ail to Nathail as she spoke to him direct, >>mindspeech hushed as if whispering a secret, <<Sometimes I think he forgets himself completely. Be good to him, person.>> She winked and set her back down.

G'ail groaned audibly, "See? And yeah, that was part of my reason to. I wanted to a dragon rider for a long time. And believe me, I never regret it. They say you find your other half when you Impress and that's really an understatement." He watched as the other very careful began to scrub and laughed, "You're not going to break her if you scrub a little harder Nathail."

"That's.. um. Wow?" Really, Nathail just couldn't come up with anything for that at the moment. Matchmaking dragon...wow indeed. He holds his tongue on any other comments that might come to mind on the subject as G'ail asks Senoth his question.

He nearly jumped out of his sandals though at hearing the dragon talk to him for that last bit. Didn't they not like to talk to anyone but Theirs!? "Uh.. yeah. The lessons never really tell us we are expected to understand any of that other half part unless we actually Impress. I do want to be a rider though, it's something so different than anything I've done before." He manages to look pretty embarrassed for a second too, when his tentative approach to scrubbing is pointed out. "Okay."

G'ail shrugged and chuckled, "It's not so bad, really. You get used to it... everything Yours does is done in your best interest. No harm is ever meant... and in some ways, it's a growing experience between Bondmates - whatever their quirks are." He shook his head with amusement and pride, "I just caught the attention of a particularly sensous, plucky, and gregarious dragon. I am certainly not complaining." He patted Senoth's hide fondly.

Nodding at the other's comments, he glanced up to the bright sky above, "There's nothing like flying on dragonback or popping Between from place instantly to another... or the rush of never being alone." Or the frenzy of a Rising dragon, he thought wryly, but wisely kept that to himself - it was something every rider had to learn on his or her own and everyone was different.

Nathail gives a slight nod to that. "Yeah, I guess. But matchmaking? Sounds like living with my sister all over again there. I would like to hope that is a dragon does choose me, they wouldn't be too much like my sister. She was a naggy sort." But wasn't that all sisters? Hm...probably, probably. "I don't know you, but I think Senoth matches you." He leaves that comment at that though.

"Not sure I'd like Between. Not from all the things you riders say at mealtimes at your tables." Did they really lose weyrlings to a mistake in going Between? Just the mere thought of coming out in the wrong place or worse.. Nope, dropping that thought right now. "Never being alone, that could be kind of nice." He reaches up again to start scrubbing as he'd stopped while talking. Shame he couldn't talk at the same time as working, or was they what made him trip up so often? Hm.

"I rather think that should a dragon choose you, you'll be well matched and compliment and contrast to improve upon both." G'ail replied easily, smiling and bowed slightly at the compliment, "And thank-you Nathail, I rather appreciate that."

Senoth chuckled in her own draconic fashion and nodded as well, <<I am glad he is able to see that, Mine. I would not have chosen you had we not matched.>>

"Between is such a short experience, though. A flash of cold and seeming emptiness and you're there. Accidents do happen but dragons have an incredible spacial sense - you learn to trust Yours." G'ail nodded and looked fondly to Senoth, "Yes, it is nice. Even when everyone else might let you down, you know always your lifemate will be there to catch you and you in turn them. Though I'd be hard pressed to think of a time when I've been the one to cheer up Senoth - she's an eternally optimistic sort."

Nathail looks thoughtful for a moment and pauses his scrubbing again. "I'd hope we matched.. A dragon the opposite of me would maybe be a bit odd." More so if the opposite happened to deal with not being bored as easily as him, or liking things to NOT change.. Well, best to not even think or guess on it right? The next clutch was a good time away, plenty of time to worry after that.

He does grimace a bit though. "They tell so many stories though, of all the mistakes. And Between just sounds like such a bad place even for that short time.."

"It has happened before. And the two have been made stronger for it - it's something that everyone must adjust to. Those new riders from the Hatching will have quite the bit of growing to do, all of the dragonets seemed very strong of personality." G'ail smiled with amusement, the next few years would be hard ones for the riders but well worth the work, he was certain.

He pushed against Senoth's side, Roll a little?, and the dragon obligingly shifted, laying down like a big cat so that G'ail could continue to wash her, "Mistakes happen but that's why you are taught before hand and not allowed until you're ready. Those who are nervouse can always go Between into open areas - like the sky above the Weyrbowl. The danger comes in arriving in small areas." He shrugged, "To avoid the problem most just blink Between from the air unless they absolutely have to."

"I guess." Nathail really doesn't sound completely convinced though. "Guess I'd just have to see if I ever do Impress, what kind of a match the dragon would find in me." He has to nod though, some of the dragonets did look um.. hm, big on their personalities.

He watches Senoth as she changes position, and remembers that oh yeah, there was a scrubber in that hand for a reason. Trying to do two things at once again, he picks up where he left off with scrubbing. "Still doubt I'd ever get used to, or like Between even with practice."

G'ail nodded, "Yep. But the dragon will find some common ground with you, I'm sure. Otherwise they wouldn't call you Mine." He chuckled, "Some don't like Between - I don't mind it. You get from one place to another awfully fast so it's great. Just got to trust your dragon."

He fell into companionable silence as he returned to scrubbing, intent on getting Senoth clean before she fell asleep - which, from the evening out of her breathing, he was guessing to be fairly soon. "We should hurry, lazybones here is falling asleep - I think she just wanted a good massage." Grinning, he patted the green's side as he washed her.
