Pepper was less inclined to just merry up and move on with the day as if nothing was strange. Eyes narrowed he tried to pinpoint what about this kid made him nervous and on edge.
Magic fish? Something about that worried him, Vampy had often said things of magic were often better left alone if you don't know what your getting into. The sheer fact a lesson from Vampy was echoing in his head made him grit his teeth and force himself to go along with this. He'll show him! Stupid Vampy...teaching him things that actually made sense.
He didn't care to know the kids name, he'd continue calling him Blue hair, that suited him just fine. He moved along trying not to sulk but feared his posture was giving him away. He scratched at his cheek and eye'd Edes and Cody. He'd have to keep a close eye on Edes...and make sure the fool of a kid didn't get hurt.
"What's so special about magical fish anyway? Can they fly or something?" He inquired finally wondering if they would just use nets to try and catch them.

The blue haired boy was smiling brightly as he at least was able to make a friend in Edes, "Well, since your being so nice to me Edes I will will tell you my name." He told him, as though it were a bit secret, "I'm called Melan."
He glanced over at Cody first, then to Pepper, then smiled again as he lifted his hands up to continue to motion them along, "Well... depends on the fish really, some would make interesting pets, some would make good eating, some are just made of interesting materials... some even leave the pond in their own sort of..." He paused a moment and made a shape in the air with his hands, "Bubble of water, a means of traveling to other ponds I guess."
They headed down the path that was hard to follow unless you were paying good attention between he gave a happy sound and pointed, "There it is!" He chirped, hurrying forward to a pair of trees, "See, this is why only children can go." The two trees were very close together, someone the size of Pepper was probably the max of what could go between them and even then he might have to wiggle a little given those bone structures of his. He looked over his shoulder at Edes, Cody, and Pepper, "I bet you think I am making a joke but you will see when we cross through."
"No need to be scared though, I won't let anything happen to my new friends." Melan told them then went first, slipping between the two trees and out of site despite the fact that the trees shouldn't be nearly big enough to hide someone his size... The slightest bit of vertigo went along with crossing over the threshold from that place to this one, the smallest little tear in this realm that led to a massive lake that had once been a meeting ground between Heaven and Hell, long since forgotten since nothing mattered between those two sects but old hatred, and left to the fish and the few out there that enjoyed fishing up strange beings.

Hearing the boy's name made Edes feel so happy. "Melan... It's a good name~"
While he listened to Melan, all sorts of things ran through his little mind. He recalled a book his father had read to him, one that talked about flying fish and an old tree that bore fruit, but never bloomed. He nibbled on his sleeve and thought more. A tree that only kids could fit through... It seemed so very cool to him.
His gaze traveled to Cody, and his ears lowered automatically. His most beloved friend wasn't happy.. Was it his fault? He then let his gaze travel to Pepper, and he too, seemed very upset. He swore to himself, he will make everything BETTER!!
"I.. I go next kay! I make sure everything is alright!!" He smiled, truing to still seem happy, and slowly walked through the dimension hole. Hee was a bit, frightened, and as soon as he could, he found Milan and grabbed his arm tight, holding onto him for security. "Oh.. W-what is dis place..?"

All this magic talk both worried and excited Cody. Magic wasn't something to mess around with, if the movies he occasionally watched were anything to go by. Not to mention Ary's stories of wars that were suddenly ended due to someone blowing up something they shouldn't or things just going haywire in general.
"I'm guessing this doesn' seem too good an idea to you as well," he muttered, turning to look at Pepper. He almost wished Edes hadn't gone through yet, otherwise he might have just turned and left. However, he couldn't just leave his friend with Melan or whatever he called himself.
Cody paused at the small entrance both Edes and Melan had gone through, glancing one last time at Pepper before passing through. His skin tingled much like it did when one of his limbs had fallen asleep. Almost as soon as it came, it passed again and the spawn found himself in an entirely new environment that looked nothing like the forest he had left behind.
"Woah..."

Pepper had be disinclined to remember the blue haired kids name, already it vanished from memory another useless fact he would never need. Blue hair was enough of a name for him. He watched as he spoke and pointed to the narrow space and before he could stop Edes he went through. He rubbed his temples lightly as if he had a headache, and nodded in agreement with Cody this all seemed highly suspicious, but he wasn't going to run away like a big baby.
He watched as Cody dissapeared through the arches and found himself alone. He crouched and peered through seeing Cody's form slowly moving away and out of sight. He didn't hear any screams nor smell any blood...he moved forward and found it was indeed a tight squeeze...as well he had to stoop to not hit the ceiling. He moved along inch by inch and when on the other side was a bit astounded by the new atmosphere. He tried not to look impressed and thus went to crouch near his two friends like an overgrown watch dog, his eyes darting around watching the area and disliking how close Edes had gotten with the blue haired kid.

Melan gave a bit of a chuckle as he found Edes clinging to his arm and he lifted a hand to lay it over that of his new friend, patting it gently, "Its alright, I promise that the lake isn't big enough to hold a Faeroe Orc." He assured the winged boy before he turned his head to look at the open space behind them. There were no trees here to mark where the door was but he could sense it.
He was almost half hoping the other two wouldn't show up since this boy seemed to be the nicest among them. It was almost a shame he couldn't close the door... he gave a smile as he heard a 'woah' behind them and turned to look over at Cody. Alright, so he'd come along and now... Pepper. It seemed to be taking him a little longer which made Melan half wonder if he had gotten himself stuck between the trees. He gave a little grin at the mere thought.
Then he popped into existence on the Lake Side of the door, "Alright, shall we go and see what we can catch?" He said, grinning in a bright manner before he laced his fingers with those of Edes and set to leading the way forward to where the edge of the water was. As they got close it would kick up various animals that were quite strange to behold, sending them diving into the water, into the tall grass, or up into the air. It was a rather serene sort of place and the water was sparkling under the light of what looked almost like the sun though it wasn't moving from where it hung in the sky.
"So, who wants to cast first?" He asked of the trio.

"Faeroe Orc?" he didn't understand. What was that? Before he could ask, Cody popped in, then Pepper, and his eyes went wide at awe. They basically popped in out of nowhere! "Oh...! Yay! We're all here now!"
Edes didn't expect Milan to hold his hand, even going as far as lacing his fingers with his own. It wasn't an easy thing to do, especially since his hands where hidden by an extra foot of fabric. The only people he thought would bother with his sleeves were his father and Cody. Even so, Melan was able to get to his hand so very quickly that he hadn't noticed, and a small blush dusted his cheeks.
He nodded to the blue haired child's question, and let himself be led to the water's edge, gazing in awe at the water. The spawn pulled away from Melan's side, going to crouch down right where it ended. He found this as an opportunity to take off those blasted shoes, putting them down neatly in the grass, but dared not dip his feet in. "Look how clear it is..." He murmured to himself, watching it lap at the shore.
When Melan asked who wanted to cast first, he shook his head, he rod abandoned near his shoes. "No.. Not yet... I's happy watching for now."

It was easy to say Cody really wanted to rip Melan's head off right then. How DARE he hold hands with Edes like that?! Yet, there wasn't much he could do to change it. After all, the kid could change his appearance, knew of a magical lake, and could probably do a lot more. So, all he could do was glare and sulk as his friend was taken away by what seemed to be a stranger.
"Why don't you go first?" he suggested, looking pointedly at the blue-haired kid as he stood by Edes, arms crossed. There was very little that would make him go near the water anyways at this point. The atmosphere was so serene, though. Almost like something from a fairy tale... Where were they, anyways?

Watching as Edes and this Melan got close Pepper found his hackles rising, more so that he didn't trust the blue haired kid and Edes was too friendly for his own good. He wanted to play games did he? Moving forward he planted himself between Edes and Melan and then lifted his gaze to lock onto the kid as if daring him to try and move him.
"I'll go first, what do I have to do?" He asked sounding more annoyed than excited by it all. Magic was dangerous, he knew that much. He didn't feel right where they were...as he watched out of the corner of his eyes the creatures all strange and unusual looking scurry off of swim away he doubted they would catch much of anything.

Melan smiled at Edes and gave him a nod of his head as Edes said that he wanted to wait and just watch for now. He couldn't help but to like this one more and more, which made him glad that he was able to make friends with him. Now the other two... it would seem the better he did with making friends with Edes the harder it was becoming to make friend with them... though he wasn't to surprised when it came to one of them.
He turned to look at Cody before giving a chuckle, "Well... to be honest, I don't have a fishing pole. I just came along to make friends and share a special place with them." He said, smiling brightly. It might seem silly to invite a group out without really bringing anything himself but Melan didn't exactly need a pole to catch fish if he really wanted them... not that he currently did. He was content where he was... then Pepper was nudging his way between him and Edes.
Melan starred at him for a long moment before he reached a hand out to run a finger tip over the yellow streak in Pepper's hair in a curious manner. So different from the other one he thought to himself, "Want to go first, huh? Alright, if you don't have a pole you can always try fishing with your hands. Its a way to keep from hurting the fish as well, if your worried about that." The last part was said to Edes before he moved to start rolling up his pants to his knees and the sleeves on his shirt, "Shall we?"

Edes blinked. "Peppah?" He was confused as to why the Eldest decided to step in between Him and Melan. He didn't let it bother him. When he heard that Pepper didn't have a rod, he pointed to his stick with string and cheese, and the bag of cheese that went with it. "Peppah can use that~"
Though when Melan mentioned that the fish wouldn't be hurt the other way either, Edes smiled brightly, falling back onto his bottom and rolling up his pants and rolling his sleeves up as well. With delicate steps, he slipped hisfoot into the water.
"Oh.. It's cold!! Cody!! Come in and play wid me!" He called out, though it came out as a normal sound. He never talked very loudly. His curls followed him as he turned to Cody, holding out his hand. "Cody!!! Come Play in da wather!!"

Cody watched as everyone began to wade into the cold, blue water. "N-No. Don't like water," he said plainly, watching Edes carefully in case something happened. So far, it didn't seem like Melan had anything malicious planned for them yet.
Sighing, the child pulled his shoes and socks off and rolled his pants up. Slowly, and with a look that expressed extreme dislike, the spawn waded into the water. Shivering, he looked over at Pepper and Melan, then over to Edes. He wasn't kidding, the water WAS cold! He almost wished he had stayed back on the shoreline where it was both dry AND warm.
"Gah, I think something just touched my leg," he muttered, flinching as something seemed to brush past. Oi, why didn't he just stay on the shore?

Pepper looked to Melan a bit ...confused with his comment about catching fish with his hands.
"Kid," he raised his hands wiggling his fingers as if to show off the fact his hands didn't just have claws they were claws. "I seriously doubt if I caught something with my hands it would be unhurt...." He stated as he looked to the pole that Edes had offered him and took it looking a bit...like he was going to laugh or break the thing in two. This thing was a joke...
"Uh...what do I do with this?" he asked as he looked over to Cody who expressed his dislike of the cold. Yeah he wasn't much of a fan of it, but he was determined to keep Melan away from Edes.

Melan looked between Edes, Cody, and Pepper and he lifted a hand to his mouth to smother laughter. This had to be the worst group of fishermen that he had ever met but... he couldn't say much, he hadn't even bothered to bring a pole either. He looked around for a moment then smiled as he found a rock, "Here, let's try something else then." He said as he gave the object in his hand a toss.
It arched up into the air a good distance then came down to hit the top of the water with a great 'SPLASH' and a moment later the air was filled with spheres of water that had fish swimming around in rapid circles in them as though they were a bit startled. Melan gave a smile as he reached his hands up to catch hold of one of the spheres and turned to hold it out of the air and looked at the creature inside, "There we go, we can just catch them like this." He said, turning to show it off to the three other boys.
A few of the other spheres floated passed them, the fish seeming to calm down in their water globes when what had startled them seemed to be gone. They swam in circles around their balls but didn't seem as though they were returning to the lake all that quickly now that they had rose out of it.
*****
The rock that Melan had tossed sank down into the depths of the water and bounced off the head of a larger water dweller, causing its eyes to pop open first startled then curious. He sniffed at the rock for a moment before starting toward the surface of the water, peeking out for a moment to see what was going on, able to hear voices and splashing around. Children? A group of them, very weird from the smell of them... nothing like the beings that used to visit here and yet similar at the same time... odd... the creature sank down again before it started to swim forward to get a closer look.
Above the water there would be the slightest movement of the water where the thing was moving and a shadow if anyone were currently looking its way but nothing else could be seen, yet

"Fishbowls..." Edes murmured to himself in fascination, slowly making his way out of the water. The fish in the watersphere's didn't seem to think he was much of a threat and came in close, looking at him with slight curiosity.
They indeed were weird fish, especially the on that was about a half a foot away from Edes' face. It slightly resembled a catfish, with short jagged teeth and two extra eyes underneith it's normal ones. Long whiskers came from the sides of its face, and the ended in a spiral Curl. That made Edes hold out a piece of his hair, looking at it, then to the fish again.
"Mr. Fishy, you are Curly like me." he observed, nodding wisely and going back over to his bag of cheese. He pulled out a few pieces and held it in his palm, bottom up, offering it to the fish. "Would Mr. Curly Fish like some?"
The fish blinked at him, now just as curious with Edes as Edes was with it. With lightning speed, much like that of a frog, a long tongue reached out and swiped the cheese , swallowing it whole.
"Cody!! Peppah!! Look at dis fish!! It likes daddy's cheese!" He turned around to look at Cody, but.. He didn't look to happy, and he suddenly remembered that he hated water. "Oh.. Cody!! Come here... I sowwy I mad you get in da water.." He murmured, feeling horrible now.
He dumped his cheese on the ground, then moved to a spot where there was a patch of soft grass and sat down in it. He felt as if he wouldn't ever make his friends like each other..
