I can sing, just not scream very well like Meshuggah's vocalist. If you don't want vocals, that's cool. We can figure that out near the end of the writing process. I can pretty much sing anything; I just can't scream like Jens Kidman. I'm learning how to scream, but I'm nowhere close to recording quality yet. Maybe there's someone here in the guild who can scream, and we could sort of trade off/duet between clean vocals and growling, sort of like in Cynic. Except without the robo-vox. Unless, of course, you want me to get out my vocoder...

No worries, I would actually enjoy more clean vocals anyway, it's just that the high drone of James Labrie and that style of vocals can be a little much sometimes. Actually some vocoder could be really really cool if we do it right. I'm definitely open to some cool vocals, let's see how it goes.

Atlus117 Yeah. We really need to see how its going to work first. Lol. But i like the genres idea. We need a way to start. Like who would wright first and how would we send the files to each other? Well do you want to start with some drums? I figure dfh sounds really good so we could start with a blueprint. For example if we did something meshuggah sounding we can lay down the groovy 4/4 china, put a snare in a couple consistent places, then add a kick pattern later to match the guitars. You could also program some more standard parts to lay down more melodic, orchestral sections or a clean chord progression or something. Even if you just wanted to do a couple sections, then hand it off to someone else to add to it. I can lay down some guitar and have tons of great sounding keyboard patches (maybe some dueling guitar/keyboard as well?). We're getting closer mrgreen

Im using fl studio 9. MP3's are too compressed. You should try and export an OMF file once you're finished, then I should be able to view your project in my recording software. If that doesn't work, maybe transfer a wav file or something that has a higher quality bitrate than an MP3.

I'm up for this. I think it'd be a cool idea to lay down a simple backing track, and we can get as many Guitarists from the guild as we can doing their own styles.
Maybe I'm getting ahead but it's a thought, and I shared it, I deserve this
*Gets the gateau*
EDIT: Actually, I like the idea's your getting right now. long time since I did metal, give me a reason to revisit some chops. Still... keep the above in mind
