jbsnickerdoodle Thats a tuffy, question I'd have to say the myth of king Minos. It shows how much want can corrupt. I think you mean King Midas, not King Minos.

Ooh, I also like Eurydice and Orpheus; I read a play about Eurydice, but the author made it her own. It's about Eurydice's life in the underworld and what happened to her before Orpheus came for her. And in the end, it was Eurydice's fault he looked back. It's titled Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl. It's really good. heart [Sorry for the spoiler xD]

I have 3 favorites. Eros and Psyche, Hades and Kore (Persephone), and Apollo and Daphne. I'm a romantic at heart and I find the last two tragically beautiful oddly enough. Orpheus and Eurydice would have to be runner up.

Incidentally, did anyone know that the tale of Eros and Psykhe/Cupid and Psyche was not a part of proper Greek mythology? It was more of a fable or a fairytale as opposed to a legend. The diference being that none of the ancient Greeks or Romans (the story was far more common in Rome) actually believed the story. To think that a personification of nature characterized by random caprice could be tied down in marriage is patently absurd.

Well, im a massive Odyssey fan girl though my actually fave character in the myth is Telemachus, with Athena a very close second, then Penelope, then Odysseus. I also love the Andromedea myth, and the Meda myth to the point where Jason is an a**, then i like it again as Meda has her vengeance and takes away everything he's ever loved seeing as he just did that to her... the reason i like it is cause she dosent get punished... any myth with Hermes is fun, and i also enjoy any about Prometheus and Dionysus. i also love Aristophanes plays, i dont know if they really count but the frogs is great!
