I personally like Bernie Mac and Eddie Murphy, but I've never seen Richard Pryor's stand up. I've seen a lot of his movies, though.
I was shocked to hear that he died...at 65, no less.

[I like Bernie Mac, but I'm not too huge a fan of Murphy. I don't like Martin Lawrence too much either... "Run tel dat" or whatever SUCKED. confused ]

He talked about race a lot, though, yes, but those parts were hilarious. 4laugh ]

I don't like her. She just...curses so much, and her jokes aren't really funny. I mean, I can understand how sometimes profanity makes a joke funny, but not in excess. Chris Rock has that problem too, except when he curses it's funnier.
Wanda Sykes curses a lot too, but she's funny.

Black_Ronin now i've been hearing alot on how black comedians arent funny because they usually talk about how " white people do this...and niggas do this" and i'll admit alot of them do.......but thats not their whole act, people act like thats just all they talk about and i've seen alot of stand-ups......alot, from old school to new school and guess what white comedians do it to, you know why? acknowledging ours and other races humorous attributes is quite funny so i see nothing wrong with it, how about you? Frankly in my opinion Most Black comedians are not fnny in anyway, at least over the last 6 to 10 years. All their comedy is racist, bias, and just plain boring. Black comedy in general is racist to a more larger degree than ever before, but then again not all comedy is clean.

I think race jokes are funny as long as a varity of races are being made fun of. A person who I think is really great at this is Carlos Mencia. Yeah I know he's not black but yeah and Damon Wayne from My Wife and Kids is hilarious! I love it that he is hosting Premium Blend now. DL Hughley is also pretty funny.

I dont think D.L Hughley is very funny. I was watching reruns of the show he used to have and when you think about it, he is unbelievably racist. Its meant to be funny and if you watch it one way he IS funny, but if you watch it another way he isnt.

[It does seem like comedy is more about race than ever these days, but that's true for all comedians/comedies, not just black ones. Animated shows like Family Guy and American Dad contain race jokes all the time. I think nowadays, non-black people are more comfortable with making fun of black people the way black people make fun of themselves. wink ]

I like D.L. Hugely a bit, as well as Richard Pryor. I'll always love Richard.... except for him being a bit of a cokehead, but Richard was always on the edge like that.
(I remember my mom's favorite skit was the drug-addict meets Blackula. rofl "You sure is a ugly mother- And what the hell is wrong with your natural?" rofl
