Finally I have my own journal! I've been writing up reports etc. in my lab books and all but it's nice to have somewhere for myself... Now i'm wondering what to write in this thing though.
Well, what i've done today would be a start. It's been a pretty normal day: woke up to the smell of fresh sesame bread, ate and then worked on the latest artefact given to me by Alyosha. I never know wether he gives me them because i'm good or because he cares for me - oh well i'll try my best, as always! I went out to stretch my wings earlier, and, as i was flitting about at the forst edge i spotted movement in a few of the houses. It's strange to see more humans... ones i don't know... on the Island.
I got a little nervous and had to return home. I hate it that i'm never good at meeting people, i'd love to have some friends but talking to people it just so hard X3
Reading through the notes about the current Aerandir creations that Alyosha has given me their seems to be some pretty interesting mixes. He's asked me if i want to work on typing their most likely traits and working up a set of notes for each owner on the chance of their job abilities bearing in mind, also, the specific "needs" of the current small Aerandir community. I think I will... Maybe i'll get to meet some of them that way !

Today has been quite fun! I ended up writing up the list as Alyosha has asked me to and found some interesting facts. I'm wondering if we may have to start a new group on one of the other Islands at some point, though, as too many of one type is never good for a community.
Alyosha had found another two artefacts and is currently trying to find a guardian for them. This place will become so crowded soon! I can't help but hope that it'll liven things up around here, it would be nice to have others in the centre as well as around the villiage - I may go there later, just on the off chance that somone else is around.

Alyosha made his way quietly up to Acias room and knocked lightly - no reply - he listened and heard her snoring softly. Grinning a little to himself he opened her door and snuck in, something carefully nestled in the crook of his arm. He held up the little egg, with fur balls and a small "tail" appendage on it.
"Odd little thing.." he mused, placing it on Acia's beside table and wrapping it in some soft cloth to keep it warm. He then tiptoed out, waiting for her to wake up and find it.

An odd thing happened today... I woke up to find a strange egg like thing on my bedside table! It has two small fluffy bits on it and a tail, adorable! Alyosha must have left it here for me... I hope it's mine and I can look after it... whatever it is... It must be, surely... otherwise he wouldn't have left it.
Well.. "It" needs a name. Jorai has always been one I liked... and it'll suit a girl or a boy.. I wonder which it is? I keep getting the urge to shake it and see what inside! biggrin but thats probably not the best idea.
I'm going to head out now, around the center, see if I can find out where this thing came from and what it is!

;_;! There are people in the house! So many of them... It scares me, some of them have Aerandir gryphons which i'd love to meet but.. so many humans! I guess i'm trapped in my room for now... I have to wait until they all leave, I couldn't walk by them...
I guess I might as well take this time to update on my studies. I've been looking over the reports from the archaeologist camp on Ar'idil and it seems they have been finding quite a few artifacts. They will, hopefully, be sending me some of the samples quickly so that I can prepare them. I've already cleaned up one set in the last week - I believe Alyosha will be looking for a guardian for it soon.

The most wonderful thing has happened! This evening the little egg which has been in my custody has hatched! I was sitting at my desk with the thing nestled into my lap and all of a sudden I felt something moving. It had been so silent that I had not even heard it come from it's shell! The creature is adorable and she makes cute mewling sounds if you prod her belly biggrin
I am beginning to think she is nocturnal as she seemms to have gotten more active as the night has come down. She's been... what I can only describe as "basking" in the moonlight which hits my desk from one of the small windows.
I can't wait to show her to Alyosha, he'll maybe give me some actual clues about the creature.

I went to see Alyosha about Jorai and he told me quite a bit.
Alyosha She's a Tupsu, a race of creature which have an affinity towards nighttime, the moon and stars, so much so that they even appear to have developed the patterns of them on their coats. I have a leaflet somewhere for you, i'll see if I can find it. You'll need to make sure she gets plenty of moonlight.. oh.. and it is a she.
That's what I remember anyway... He also gave me a leaflet about them which i'll study later and maybe make some notes from before I start looking into them myself.
Unfortunately, this morning, Alyosha told me he wanted me to go and help one of the guardians! I don't mind helping out, in fact I like it.. but I have to actually go and speak to her! ;_; He wants me to help her by enervating the soil and creating an area which will allow all plants to grow. I'm not that good with plants, but soil I know well. Oh well, I guess.. I have to.. I don't think I could refuse Alyosha and.. I am a little curious about Nehanda, her little Aerandir who was a little different from the equus we had found biggrin

The strangest thing has happened and I can't find Alyosha to tell him! I had a wonderful day yesterday, helping Foenix went better than I could have hoped for. She's so nice and Nehanda is wonderful.
I hurried from there before the sun set and got home to find this:

The poor little thing was shivering and had obviously been there a long time! I invited her inside, wondering why Alyosha had not and found him to be nowhere in sight. Her name is Alliea - a pretty name biggrin Just penning a quick diary as I don't want to leave her on her own right now!

What a time i've been having! So much has happened since I last wrote in this diary. Alli and I have become very good friends, I've been showing her around the Island and we've been having a great deal of fun around here, doing things I'd never thought to do before... like camping out and watching the sunrise and and.. so many wonderful things biggrin
It's so nice to have someone I can talk to and who isn't just another new human. Alli is so kind and full of energy.
On another note...
Alyosha seems to be doing something with the house, there was a pile of wood and plaster and various other things lying around the place. I told Alli that we'd best ask if there's any help needed since I've been shirking my duties here.
Ahh well, that's all I can put for now. It's late and I should be in bed biggrin

Some really odd things have been happening around here lately... When I came back to the centre a few nights back there was blood on the floor.. Alyosha dissapeared with only a note saying he was going to the mainland and everything seemed *too* quiet.
I put Alli to bed since she was a little scared and then went to investigate. I couldn't find much out but I cleaned up the blood, maybe someone just had an accident?
All of this was worrying and then, when I got out of bed this morning I found a strange woman lying in the living room. I quickly jumped back up the ladders. I'm sure I've seen her around before but... I don't know her. I guess since she's sleeping that she's probably not here to do any harm but... I wish Alyosha were here ;_;
Whilst we wait for him to come back I thought i'd catch up on my journal. I've closed over the hatch now so she shouldn't be able to come up here...
Alli is playing with some fossils we found the other day. I was telling her, when she first got here, about the archaeologists and what they do and the things they find and she got very exctied about it. I know how to work the earth and how to dig, as I used to hang around the archaeoligists a lot so I offered to teach Alli the basics that I knew.
We've been ehading out early to the northern end of Cetalu, where the old dig site used to be. We've actually found a few things, mostly human deposits of flint and bone tools. Alli seems to like them and so i've given her a shelf on one of my cabinets to put up her finds.
It's been so good having her around. She's young and energetic and happy... but also very good at concentrating hen she needs to be. she's not to good with reading and writing but it's slowly improving as I've been reading her articles on what she's been finding.
I think I hear Alyosha back now... someone else anyway. I guess I'll go see.

Alyosha was back but that strange person didn't leave until a little after he got back. Alyosha was tired.. I think, he went to sleep anyways so Alli and Iwent outside biggrin
The next few days went by as usual, Alli and I have a routine now.. Getting up early, going to the beach or the woods or some place on Cetalu. Then we head to the old dig site. We always take a lunch with us and picnic before going for a swim and then heading home.
Alli found quite an interesting thing today, something the other Archaeologists must have missed.. It was pure white fur, attatched by a little sinew to what was most likely a paintbrush. There were some stains on the sips of the fur but gentle washing has cleaned them up beautifully. I'll need to pass this on to Alyosha, though Alli seems somewhat attatched to her find.
Alyosha appears to have been getting back into refurbishing with gusto. He's apparently going to extend my room out to make it big enough for two, since Alli doesn't want to sleep in a room of her own. It'll take some earthwork contruction so he's asked me to sort that out instead of going out today. Ah well, i've given Alli an old piece we found to clean up properly whilst i'm busy.
Jorai, as usual, is sound asleep D: He's very nocturnal and has been keeping us both up at times. Oh well, I guess a little creature who's evolved to bask in moonlight would be that way.
Better get to work!

I've given Alyosha the piece of fur and he seemed quite excited! Apparently there's a new intern-type on the Island and he said he'll give it to him to examine but is pretty sure it's an Aerandir artefact. He also told me that there would be a new full Aerandir soon, i'd love to see the transformation, never having been around when any was going on before ^_^
Alli and I have given up on our digging for now, I think we've turned over every piece of soil we could and could find nothing else. Because of that we've spent a lot of our time simply wandering the Island. I've promised to take her over to the other Island at some point, to let her see the pros at work.

Ahh! In my entry yesterday I forogt to add that both Alli and myself got an easter egg for easter. Alyosha has explained to me before about this custom but.. he wasn't that sure of it himself. He said something about ignoring the religious

It's been so long since i've written in my little diary. I've decided I really should write a little more in here to note down everything which is happening. I'm slightly worried about having to go to see this new person Alyosha has asked me to but he has assured me that the person might as well be a child and I'm not to be frightened... I don't think he understands sometimes...
On the subject of Alyosha.. he's been acting a little strange recently. He's still doing his reports and data gathering but he hasn't actually left his room much except to eat, shower and collect the books he needs. He's put long, dark drapes over his windows so noone can get it and he's only talking to me briefly. His eyes look odd too.. brighter, feircer.
This all began the morning after that strange white haired woman left... she's been here before and seemed a little od, i've seen her shouting at Alyosha and them arguing ... Maybe she's done something to him? I'm not sure. I really need help with this. Maybe this person i'm going to see will be able to help me.
Oh.. i'm going to keep Alli's little drawing she did in here until Alyosha's in a better mind to give to.

14th June 2005
Once again I find my poor little diary has slipped from my mind as other duties have taken over. Since my last entry I've managed to do a few interesting things which should probably be noted down.
1. I went to see the person Alyosha asked me to. Anakiro is a really nice person, I feel, but it was still a little disconcerting being around him. I think I might like to meet him again (though I get butterflies in my stomach when thinking about it ;_ wink and his Aerandir was close to being born - I could feel it! I had to make a bridge between two rooms in the centre by taking some space out of the walls. Concrete is pretty fun to play with X3
2. Alyosha has gotten back to his usual self now, too, though I still haven't had time to give him the drawing Alli done for him. He's had his head stuck in paperwork and research materials due to the excavation on the other Island ending and him having to deal with things being set up there. Talking of which - Rahujo, Osero and I did a little ritual for the new village, hoping it'll be a good, happy place for the new owners. We places some things we had made inside, parts of Cetalu to blend with the new island.
3. I got to give Keanu the mortar and pestle I'd selected when Alyosha said we were going to have a cook. I left it on their door though - I wish I could have given it to him or his guardian myself sad This nervousness I have stops me from meeting what seem to be such kind and wonderful people who wish to help..
4. Talking of new people - We have a new administrator coming for Ar' Idil. I don't know much about him, just that Alyosha was going to pick him up whilst on the mainland. They should be back later this week but I think Alyosha will be staying on Ar' Idil for a few days to help the new man get to grips with the responsibilities.
