Ava looked down at the gun. UV bullets made sense with vampires and having a room in this place made even more sense. She was easily distracted and she needed somewhere to be safe. "Thank you," Ava said quietly and looked up at him again, "What's your name?" She asked.

Ceon outstretched his hand to shake Ava's, "I'm Ceon, Ceon Dorvuun.? Ceon smiled for the first time in a very long time, "How old are you?"

A va smiled and shook Ceon's hand with her soft grip. "I'm 18... But I guess it doesn't really matter anymore." She said and twitched her little nose. As she looked at Ceon, she wondered how old he was, but decided it would be rude to ask.

Ceon chuckled, "Don't worry about age. You lose track after the first hundred years or so. It's all a matter of keeping yourself busy long enough."

Ava smiled and blushed alittle. "Okay. Thank you..." She said shyly and looked down at her feet. She wasn't sure what to say now. He had helped her so much.

Ceon nodded and opened the door again, "Well...you should probably get going to find an apartment. You look pretty tired, have you transformed yet?"

A va stood up and walked to the door as he opened it for her. She turned to look at him and smiled. "No... I haven't, but from the way you're saying it. It's probably painful." She said and smiled nervously. "Again, thank you." Ava said and hugged him before walking out his door.

Ceon's phone rang to signify that he'd received a text message. It wasn't formal by any means, probably hastily written if anything but it was informative and to the point.

Hey Ceon. It's Eden. We haven't talked or seen each other in a while. I'm in the city right now by the Dragon Bane Tattoo Parlor. It's across the street from some Chinese buffet restaurant. You should meet me.

Ceon's eyebrow arched, when his phone began to ring, he had not received a call or a text in such a long time, probably the first one he's gotten in two years. Slipping on his jacket and shoes, Ceon hurried out the door, thinking that it must be urgent if she was actually was trying to contact him.

Ceon barged through the door, mind racing and panting slightly. That was the first time the vampires had done anything organized like that. It was usually one or two going after one target at a time. Something was up. Ceon walked across his living room and slumped down on his old couch, just staring at the piano which sat on the other side of the room. He simply sat there, regaining his breath and collecting his thoughts. The way Layna had been acting, he could tell she would be giving him an earful.

When Layna reached the open doorway to his apartment, she realized that it was not her own. He had finally gotten his own place. Good. She stepped over the threshold and stopped, not willing herself to intrude any further into his domain. "I did not come back to New York to fight with you, Ceon. I came here to raise my children." She put much emphasis on 'my', clearly trying to forget everything that had transpired between the two of them. Her heart was filled with acid and chilled as a glacier, and had been since she had left all that time ago.

Ever since the moment she had left, something had filled the darkness within herself with a steely resolve. No, she was not the same Delayna that had left. She was a Feral creature that had found no room within herself to feel love. The only thing that brought a smile to her lips were her children, and she made certain that they stayed safe and happy.

It had been a very hard decision to want to return to the threshold of all her woes, where she had left her heart and all the troubles she had faced behind.

Being here with Ceon was not easy, it brought back memories that she would have rather forgot about. She stared at Ceon with a steely gaze, the red eyes of earlier fading back to the grey they were normally. Her hair laid upon her body like heavy satin curtains, covering her in black. She looked like a wildcat stuck in a human's body: feral and untamed.

Ceon glanced at Layna, hurt by her statement. "They're my children too Layna. You might want to find a new place to live, though. Your old place is.....literally f***ked up. Jayden and I sort of put a massive hole in the floor some time ago. Besides, the vampires have been getting more and more intent on killing us. I've been hiding out in the sewers with a bunch of other stray lycans who aren't ready to die. Ceon leaned back on his couch and savored the comfortable material. For so long he had been sleeping on a damp, moldy carpet underground.

"You mean to tell you're hiding in the sewer like a pack of rats?! What the hell has this pack become that you resort to hiding?" Layna's teeth clacked together as she snarled, clearly vehement on the fact that the strong pack was running around, scared of blood-suckers. It was disgusting. No wonder he smelled so horrible.

As for her apartment, this merely made her shrug, "If need-be, I'll fix it myself." She muttered, her tone sardonic and uncaring. She had lived in much worse conditions. "My parents would probably enjoy me having a larger apartment though, especially with my children." She again emphasized that they were her children. In some ways, she knew it would just make him mad, but she was uncaring of this.

Leaning against the doorsill, she closed her eyes, feeling the burn of adrenaline slowly sweep it's course through her body, leaving her vibrant and awake. It had been awhile since she had experienced the rush of running, though she hated the fact that it was running away.

She laughed softly, feeling it bubble in her stomach. "Ceon Dorvuun. Sunk so low as to fear vampires... and better yet, turning into a little rat hiding in the shadows, pitter-pattering around like some wounded dog. Hah. It's sickening that you call yourself a Lycan." That would get a reaction, she knew, but again, she didn't care. In some ways, she dared him to attack her. Oh, what grand fun that would be! Just like old times. A dark smile spread across her lips.

Ceon could let all Layna had said pass except for the last part. She insulted his dignity and the right side of his body tensed up and clenched tight as his left eye turned solid black for a split second. He dug his nails until his hands until the palms bled while he calmed himself down. He looked solemnly upward at Layna, clearly hurt, "We're biding our time....2 Alphas have disappeared since you left, and we're trying to reorganize. Why are you doing this, Layna? This isn't like you..."

"Not like me?" She scoffed, turning her gaze back to Ceon, her eyes full of malice. "And how would you know what 'like' me?" She hissed, staring him down, feeling ready to grab his throat and just squeeze. "You're acting weak, acting like a some...some human! You are not! You're not just despicable for a Lycan, you're despicable as a man!" Layna was venomous, snarls echoing through her words. So what if the Alphas were not present, there was no necessity to back down like a dog with their tails between their legs. She hated the weak feeling that permeated Ceon. Disgusting!

She stood up straight, her back no longer against the door frame, and crossed her arms, her grey eyes as hard as diamonds. "To think I once called you my mate. The thought sickens me now. You sicken me. Weak and afraid, that's all you are." She wasn't backing down. Behind her words was years of bottled rage and anger, memories coalesced in her words and dripped acid like a waterfall.
