Emmet watched with wide-eyed fascination as her body morphed and shrank into a young King Cobra; even his tongue flickered in and out of his lips quickly, trying to get as much of a grasp on the changes in, well, everything! Wow! This was probably the single coolest thing he'd ever seen! Ever! His head tilted as he regarded the little King Cobra, and then slowly sank down to her level, or at least to lay on his stomach on the floor considering her size, holding out his hand to her.
He'd never tried to 'speak snake' before, but he did admit a couple of strange hissing noises that were purely instinctual and quite curiously pitched about this development. The Ball Python boy looked her over, curling one hand under his chin to prop his head up, but lightly extending the other lightly scaled hand towards her, not quite touching her but being quite clear that he wanted to.
"Wow, Kaveri! That's amazing! Can you talk? Oh, well, of course you can't. Uh..." Well, that was a dumb question! "That's really cool, though!" He was staring at her, forgeting his general nervousness in favor of this transformation skill that had him kind of envious. His gaze caught the dress on the floor, even a little belatedly...and a mild part of him grew sheepish again. "But, um, lemme know somehow when you're gonna change back...s-so I can, um, look away."

From her perspective he naturally looked gigantic. A small trill of fear ran through her smaller form as he moved to go down to her level and then moved to offer his hand. Her first most natural instinct was to bite at the offending appendage. She flicked her own tongue out and just sat there for a moment as she worked to control the instinct, for now, and nodded her small head to show that she at least understood what he had said.
He is a nice boy. A good boy. He won't harm me...
She repeated those words in her mind like a mantra as she slithered closer and 'headbutted' the fingertips before simply inviting herself upon the hand. Kaveri in snake form wasn't a huge snake but she wasn't tiny either when she slithered onto his hand and coiled up there was some excess that draped off of his hand, but otherwise she fit easily in his palm.

Emmet stared down at the little snake, giggling a little bit when his fingers were headbutted. He stayed still and patient while she decided what she wanted to do; after all, patience was a virtue and he more than anyone understood how tough it would be to overcome hesitations and fears. He was full of them.
Kaveri slithered onto his hand and once she was coiled and comfortable he slowly moved the appendage, drawing it closer to himself and 'standing' back up. As always he moved slow to not startle her or make her fall, and eventually he 'sat' back on his tail, lightly running his free index finger over the scales on her head, more or less petting her.
"Pretty." Emmet said softly, jumping suddenly and putting his hand over Kaveri to either keep her hidden or to 'save' her as a sudden noise came over the PA system. It was one of the volunteers, they were announcing the beginning of round two for the story.
Oh, whew.
Sighing heavilly, his tongue flickered out of his lips and he looked down at Kaveri. It took him a minute to realize he was holding her with both hands, and the one that was overtop of her instantly pulled away. "Ack! I'm sorry! Did I hurt you?! I'm so sorry!" He whisper-wailed in distress, trying to not bring attention to them.

She rested on his hand slightly coiled up herself, small bits of her hung off the sides of his hands but otherwise she fit there rather neatly as she stared at him and sometimes her own tongue flickered out as she 'gazed' about herself in snake form. Her vision was highly limited but she couldn't complain. After her initial rush of fear she felt safe and happy in the boy's han, other than the sudden voice over the PA system and him moving to cover her from sight rather protectively.
Kaveri had 'crouched' a bit to try and avoid being crushed or rather to avoid being put in an uncomfortable position in a rather sudden moment of fear. She felt proud she avoided biting her newfound friend in her sudden rush of panic and merely adjusted to the situation at hand. That was good. Her dark honeyed eyes stared up at him and she gave a small nod to confirm that she was alright and lightly brushed the top of her head against his nearest thumb to show that she had forgiven him already.
She felt a familiar urge, a tingle if you will, that her form was about change so she headbutted his thumb again but a bit more anxiously and hoped he'd take the hint.

Emmet managed a small but still worried smile at her sign of forgiveness; she may have forgiven him, but it didn't mean she wasn't completely unharmed, after all! The last thing he wanted to do was hurt someone else. But she headbutted him this time, and it kinda had the air of urgency to it, making him tilt his head curiously.
"You...want down?" He guessed, lowering his torso and setting his hand on the floor for her to slither off if she so willed it.

Kaveri nodded her small head and as soon as she was let down she practically dove into her small and shortly after there was a small naga quietly struggling about in her small dress until she managed to get it on correctly. She had waited it out way too long, she should have known better but then again she was young and stubborn and for some reason it felt really nice to impress someone with her ability rather than making them uneasy or even scared. It was nice to have someone that wasn't scared of her.
Once she had settled a bit she wrinkled her nose a bit, "We gonna sit and listen to storytime?" Kaveri asked though her interest was clearly not in the storytelling this place had to offer.

Emmet politely looked away when she struggled with her dress, though the red glow to his cheeks easy to pick out on his white skin. Once it was clear that she was dressed and properly covered, he looked back at her, his blush subsiding. Her suggestion was met with a little shake of his head.
"Nope, it's boring." He decided; the stories in his comic books were much more fun! "D'you...Wanna wander the mall?" In a surprising move on his part, Emmet actually offered to do something that both disobeyed his parent AND had him adventuring in a strange, unknown place alone! Well...not completely alone. He did have the pretty little nagaling with him, if she wanted to, anyway.
If she said no, they'd find something else to do, but if she agreed, he'd awkwardly offer his hand, and start to sneak them out of the mall's daycare.

She had missed his blush and even if she hadn't she wouldn't know what to say about it other than checking if he had a fever, ah well.
Kaveri nodded in agreement to his sentiment that it was boring as she moved a bit closer and pondered his question for a long moment. Though Da' said he'd be back soon it had been quite a while ago and she was bored now and there was a nice boy that was somewhat like her offering to give her more entertaining alternative rather than sitting there with the other children and stagnating. After a moment she nodded, "Yeah! That'll be fun," the idea was far too appealing to pass up.
When his hand was offered she took it and waited for him to take the lead since he was a bit bigger he had an 'advantage' of height that she didn't possess.

"Okay...let's go then!" Now that Story time was in full swing, it made it a little more difficult to just sneak out...but he managed to somehow get them out. If Riley were to ever find out, he probably would have been very proud of his chicken snakeling. Once they were away from the daycare, Emmet played good boy and held onto Kaveri's hand still, just in case they got seperated. She did seem younger than him, on top of being smaller.
His free hand went into the front pocket of his hoodie, and his red slit pupils moved around, the only indication that he was looking at their surroundings. Hmm...so many shops, where to start? "...Where'd you wanna go?" He asked her, turning his head to look down at her, his tongue flickering out of his lips. Kaveri was a girl, and from experiences, girls generally didn't like what boys did, and this boy wanted to go to a comic book or art shop...but if she wanted to go elsewhere, he'd be more than happy to comply. He was being adventurous for the first time on his own!

She nodded silently to her new friend and with a bit trembling Kaveri managed to get out with Emmet still holding onto her hand. The little naga didn't seem to mind that the older boy was still holding onto her hand and for now she preferred that he did so just so she wasn't alone in a strange place the idea terrified her a little though she would never admit it.
Kaveri blinked at his question and shifted a shoulder in a shrug which caused a couple of her bracelets to jingle as she stared at her surroundings. Nearby she noted a sign that was large and colorful. She couldn't read but the way it looked caught her attention and she pointed at it with her free hand, "There, show me?" she asked curiously as she stared at him. It just so happened to be a comic book store called 'MEGA KOMIX'. Signs around it boasted to have the 'ultimate' collection of all known comic books.
Maybe it did, or may be it didn't. For now the she-naga seemed very interested in checking it out and maybe even learning about it.

Emmet was getting pretty nervous. What if Riley came by, saw him missing, and didn't bother looking for him? What's worse, what if he ran into Stella? While the Leucistic boy was pretty much accepting of his terrifying sister, there was always... His slitted red pupils moved to regard Kaveri, who was just as timid as he was, just much younger. Poor thing would be as useful against Stella as he was...
He startled a bit when her bracelets jingled, looking around for any tell tale psycho kitten...but when he saw no such person, he turned his attention to Kaveri. Oh. Right. Bracelets. His slithering paused when the other Nagaling pointed to something, she his gaze followed to look at the...comic book store?! Really? A girl wanted to go there?!
"R-really? Uh, sure, okay. Have you...ever been to one?" He asked, flicking his tail to change direction, slithering towards the store instead and forever keeping his younger charge's hand in his. He let her go through the door first, but as they were holding hands, he was quick to follow after her.
Like every comic book store, it had a massive inventory, and not just comics; toys and dice and everything else. "M-my favourite store." He informed her with a small smile, torn between gauging her reaction to the store and looking at a shelf where he saw his favourite series; Batman!

She blinked at his reaction before she nodded a bit, "Kin'a store is it? Is it a good store?" He seemed pleased so it had to be a good store! As far as she knew Emmet did no wrong and had yet to lead her astray in any fashion so she followed faithfully by his side. Certainly she was worried about what her father would do if he found she was gone but for now there was this boy here and he seemed able to protect her despite his occasional starts and other nervous behaviors. Kaveri didn't seem to see fit to count these behaviors against him.
Kaveri slithered on in and smiled back at Emmet and then looked around. So many different things in the store, she flicked her eyes about curiously for a moment. She even followed his gaze toward a shelf where a set of Batman comics rested. Her tail flicked side to side as she gave a small giggle, "That mans looks like a bat~!" she murmured amusedly.

"Comic books." He said simply; Oh, she didn't know what the store was? As kind of disappointing as that was, he imagined everyone had to start somewhere; he wouldn't be interested in this if it wasn't for Romeo after all! Huh...Wonder what Romeo would think of a girl being interested in comics? Clearly getting ahead of himself, he cleared his throat, flicked his tongue out of his lips, and decided to elaborate. "S'like regular books, only they're mostly pictures. They tell stories about super heroes and stuff!" Sure there were other comics that weren't about super heroes, but they were the most fun in his books.
He led her to the shelf of Batman comics, chuckling lightly at her amusement. "Yeah! Batman! He's my favourite..." Well, he liked the Joker more, but Batman was still pretty awesome. His free hand fidgeted and he reached out, his longer tail curling around behind hers protectively so he could let go of her hand, holding open a comic so she could see. "He's a superhero without special powers! He makes all his cool stuff!" Emmet said excitely, pointing at the various grappling hooks or special gadgets Batman had.

"Coomm'iik books?" She echoed after him as she tilted her head. Kaveri barely knew what books were though her Da was gearing up to teach her how to read they just hadn't gotten to it yet. She let out a thoughtful hum at his explanation before she softly admitted, "Oh~. I do not know how to read the books yet Emmet," she blushed a bit feeling slightly stupid in comparison but she certainly wasn't holding it against her friend. Nope! He didn't know after all. Until today they didn't know each other so how could he know?
Like a good girl she followed and didn't wander when she was released and didn't fight against the fact that his tail coiled around her own. It was kind of comforting in its own way. She stared down at the comic book and listened to Emmet's words, "Oh, he is super because..he..is....smart? Ya?"
She knew there was a better word for what she had in mind but it seemed beyond her grasp.

"Yeah! Comic books!" He agreed with a nod, his all black eyes opening to regard her again, when she said she couldn't read. Oh, oops! A spot of red coloured his very white skin, and he tweaked a piece of his bangs, suddenly feeling very shy. "Oh, uh, m'sorry...Didn'know." He didn't have a book on him either, to show her. But the comic did it's job, and he nodded excitedly.
"Yeah! Super smart!" Smiling, he set the comic book back on the shelf, after catching glimpse of a shelf full of toys. "Those're for bigger kids though." Because there was blood and bad people! But...there was something that a younger person, a girl to boot, would still like. Taking her hand again, he unravelled his tail from around her and slithered towards the shelf of toys, pointing at a bunch of them.
"And these are pokemon! They're real cute, see?" He introduced her to them, picking a toy Eevee off of the shelf and handing it to her. "They're little creatures that you catch and train to make all powerful and stuffs, they're--" More her age? More acceptable to girls? Cuter? "Still lotsa fun." He finished, deciding it was safer that way.
