Val smiled at the older lion. She got a sneaky suspicion that he wasn't really mad over having Val inadvertently calling him smelly. When he said that he would hate to be a smelly lion she knew he was just tugging her tail. Going on with his joke, Val decided to do a little light tugging of her own, "Yes. It would make it very difficult that way." She smiled and laughed lightly. Jokes weren't her strong point but she still tried.
She nudged Mito back and laughed along with him. "Flowers-smaowers, I smell like a bunch of herbs." She smiled at him and added, "All it takes is some practice and maybe some luck and I'm sure you will learn some plants." She blushed from the last half of Mito's comment. "I, um, well I don't know of a flower but I guess you could always put together a few sprigs of herbs. If you wanted."

Whether or not jokes were one of her strong points, Mito was happy when she made an attempt. The animal gave a hearty laugh that reflected just how large his lungs had to have been under his chest. He was a large lion, so it made sense. In any case, he was enjoying himself quite a lot, watching the female and hoping he really wasn’t that smelly. Maybe a bath… just to be sure. He could take some flowers in with him, make it something really nice-smelling so his fur wouldn’t miss out on the plants.
Or maybe he was thinking too much about things.
“Ah, herbs! That must be what I’m smelling,” the male nodded in response, “that was my next guess. Sprigs of herbs- that’s what I’ll do. I’ll carry some behind my ear, just to remind me. Maybe when we meet again, I’ll know more about plants too. But I’ll let you on your way now. I would hate to take more of your time than I have already. It was an honor to meet someone as knowledgeable as you are!”

Val was about to open her mouth to warn him to pick only certain herbs since she didn't want any more accidents like that morning when she decided to do him one better. It only took her a moment to get her leather bag off and digging through it until she had found three to four sprigs of various little herbs. As she dragged them out of her bag she named them and their purpose, all fairly harmless or actually beneficial. Gathering them into a small collection she was able to wrap a spare thong around it a few times.
She gave it to him with a smile. "Here that way you wont have to go out of your way to find some of these. And even if, next time, you haven't found out much more I can show you some more myself. You have made the passing of time enjoyable so I can not begrudge you it." She showed her respect for Mito by bowing her head at the large lion, "The honor is mine. I didn't think I would find someone who would be willing to listen to me ramble about plants."

Mito watched and listened, trying to make note of which herb looked like what so he could impress her with his knowledge another time. She would probably think him to forget that kind of information, but he would make sure he didn’t just to surprise her with it later. As she offered him the little bundle, he took it and placed it behind his ear, letting it sit in his mane so it had a new home for all to see.
“Perfect!” he hummed, “it’s just what I needed. Now I won’t forget anything about our visit together.” Not that he would without the herbs. This was something special to him.
Not every day he had a nice encounter with a charming female. “I’ll be sure to find you again,” he said as he turned to leave, “maybe next time our encounter won’t start with me getting a plant up my nose,” he chuckled lightly. As he wandered away, he smiled. Maybe he would be able to sleep very well tonight, with the scent of the herbs in his ear.

"I'm sure that won't happen, after all it shouldn't have happened in the first place. But I'm glad it did." Val smiled and blushed a bit. She really was glad to have met Mito even if it started off strange and was looking forward to running into him again. But like Mito, Val had things she needed to do before the day got any later then it already was. "Good bye Mito, until next time." she said before walking away as well, already wondering what their next meeting would bring.
