Aguta was patient, taking his steps very slowly beside her before half moving in behind, there in the event her banged up legs were to give way up the slope. The hill eventually crested where they would be getting off, the slope continuing, but far to their right, while the little ledge some ways off was now Aguta's point of interest. Trees had sprouted up frequently the farther they traveled; the stones were still large, but less visible as they sunk into the earth below, leaving more pebbles between the pines rather than fanged razors. The alpha didn't seem to make any outward notion that they were nearing their destination other than a small sigh that could have been interpreted as anything other than a breath of relief.
They came upon the ridge as he heard her statement. Peering down, the incline now went in the opposite direction of their uphill climb, but at a steeper slant until evening out at the bottom, flowing into a large, dark mouth of the cave just below. Coming up beside her again, Aguta stood still, waiting for her to make the first move. "No, it's not my birth name at least, but the moniker has become little less than a second name for me," he answered her, lowering his head, pointing toward the mouth as he observed the area, wondering inwardly if any other pack member was meandering about. He saw no one.

Makutu feared stopping and standing next to the male as a cave came into view in case her muscles should seize and the aching increased which it inevitably would before they healed and not being in use. She wanted to stop, to look the male in the eye and stress her point but she simply flickered him a look with lagoon blue eyes as she carefully walked on past him towards the cave she could only guess was the doorway to the network of cave’s the pack made their home in. They had made a simple greeting and perhaps while in her current state she was not her usual self. Though the strength she had shown today, she did not doubt left an impression on the male.
Carefully she choose her path down the incline towards the cave before it levelled out onto the plain, she could not risk slipping here, the incline short though step and she was in no shape to acquire further injury. After some time and thought she made it to the mouth of the den and she looked back to the male and now without having to watch her footing so much she could answer him with, ‘You hold a powerful thing then, you know my name and I do not truly know yours. One would be suspicious of a wolves business that they did not readily provide them with their name. Though perhaps I am being over cautious in believing this, perhaps you just prefer a harmless nickname, or perhaps your business truly needs you to have a second name.’ Either way the large ebony pawed male had shown her no aggression, his actions not even selfish and thus she had no reason to fear the male that had protected her from the moment they’d met and thus she smiled a mysterious sort of smile, a sudden light dancing in the corner of her eye as she walked into the dim light of the cave.
She seemed more at home in the solid enclosure, her coat, while not matching the orange hues of the rock like the identical match to Wraith her blue contrasted perfectly in comparison, the glow worm markings on her legs would suit the deeper parts of the cave network where her body would blend into to appear as though the glow worm markings where in fact now living and breathing on the rock walls. She did not intrude on any of the deeper caves, not yet knowing the level of her welcome and thus chose a sheltered corner in the central cave. She eased herself to the floor with more than one wince as her muscles had to hold her weight to prevent her from plummeting to the ground to fast. She made herself as comfortable as possible and planted her head gently down on the cooling soothing rock floor. She closed her eyes in bliss and then opened them again to await the male to follow into the cave.

As she moved past him it seemed to dawn on him that lingering wasn't doing any favor for the female and finding a soft spot to settle down was the goal of coming here at all. The stare she gave him was enough to get him moving again, the spark an intriguing limpid blue similar but not the same as his own steel eyes. Though not touching her once, he followed her down the hill keeping close in the event her worked legs would finally give way do to the pressure the slope was undoubtedly causing until they finally came to the mouth of the cave, he stopped and watched her, focusing on her more so with his ears than sight, listening to what she had to say.
"Humf," he gave an amused hum at her comment, closing his eyes as he grinned, the gesture small and not condescending. Reopening his eyes he gave her a calm expression, waiting for her to be settled before coming further into the cave. He contemplated answering her question and how much he would tell her. She was in a compromising situation being there, and Aguta not knowing what the situation was needed to pry this from her before he would allow her to stay here any longer than she already had. True he respected the strength she had shown him, but here reason for being in his territory was far more a concern to him.
He followed her to where she lay and sat himself down six feet away. Deciding on what he was going to say, he started, looking the female straight in the eye.
"You have the right to be suspicious, and good reason. You've found yourself in a compromising position, Makutu, and while I admire your strength of will, I may be forced to have you leave after you're recovered. Of course, that decision all depends on how it is you've come to Tomkin. How did you find yourself in my territory? What is the story of how you not only landed yourself in the river, but survived it? I hope you don't mind prodding, but you were right to suspect this pack, and I can't have you stay here if you compromise it in any way."

Makutu watched as Wraith settled down some distant away but in the dimmer light of the cave she could still spot the penetrating depth of his stare as his steel blue eyes speared into the depths of her own blue eyes. So the monosyllabic male could string together more than a few words, the chain of questions directed at her evidence of the fact that he thought a lot more than he chose to verbalise, how long had he been pondering upon her and why she was here, who she was and how had she survived. Makutu took more pleasure in slowly gleaming these things from others, savouring but this male had his prime concern to think about, the saftey of his pack.
She did not lift her head from where it lay, a little more comfortable in such a position however she met his stare and answered him to settle his mind, 'Strength perhaps I have but I maybe in a little more need of wisdom.' She smiled ruefully and continued, 'Be at ease Wraith, no harm comes to your pack from my being here. I am from a small pack in the northern mountains, we lived a simple but hard life, the winter winds up there do not make for an easy living, they hardened us off.' A spark appeared in her eye suggesting this was much the reason for her current display of resilience and strength, 'I grew bored of such a life, I wanted something that'd offer more than numerous hours simply spent trying to survive harsh conditions and minimal prey. Thus I left and travelled south, I find comfort in caves and rock but also water and I followed numerous streams and rivers. But I grew weary and with a summer storm the rock had become wet and treacherous, the light dimmed and I had lost my footing, sending me into the river. How I survived I cannot tell you.' She finished, no emotions playing on her face, she simply held his gaze then a spark ignited in one of her eyes and as quick as it came, it went. 'So Wraith now you have my story, tell me yours, or are you not an eye for an eye sorta guy?'

Continuing to watch, he didn't hardly budge, taking little interest in shifting about, not wishing to look fidgety or unstable to the stranger. He was calm regardless and could patiently sit there for hours if he so needed to, well practiced in being still when waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike down a target. Aguta listen to what she had to say, not expecting her to even give as much of an answer as she had, but he appreciated how precise and open she was regardless, feeling himself loosen a bit when she mentioned her pack situation. He didn't suspect she was from an enemy pack to begin with, having not heard her carry herself with the same pride someone from Reign of Terror would have displayed. No, Makutu's pride was different. Unyielding, but not dominant or in the least not aggressive.
"It sounds like your pack was difficult to live with, I do not blame you for leaving. But I do think that perhaps the conditions you were forced to live with must be thanked for helping you to survive as you have done thus far. You will find Tomkin a far more forgiving territory, however, even our thick forest has teeth, as you've already observed," he told her, "It sounds to me that you've lived an interesting life, albeit difficult. I'm glad you survived the river." Aguta faltered a bit when she asked for his own history, unsure just what he was going to say or more what he was willing to say. Aguta could probably tell her much more than he intended, most of his life not a threatening story to pass on, but it was his own taught reluctance that stilled his tongue. He never felt any inclination to share for whatever reason.
"That depends. I can very well be for giving an even trade, but there are times when I'll take what I can and leave without second thought. It sounds dishonorable, but I think it is sometimes necessary. My story is similar in some respect. I left my previous home and after much traveling found myself here. I used what skills I had acquired in my previous pack to found Tomkin," narrowing his eyes, Aguta focused on her a little further, having pulled his eyes back to her after they strayed to glance sightlessly out of the cave mouth. "Tomkin is essentially a hoard, a small fortress of wolves thrown together with a similar occupation. We're assassins, Makutu, and this is why I had to be sure of you, to know what brought you here."

Makutu nodded in a confirmatory sort of manner as Wraith agreed with her about how living in the mountains had toughened her up enough to have survived her ordeal but a small smile spread across her maw as he commented on the fact that she had lived an interesting life, she did not think of as interesting that was half of the reason for leaving the mountains, so much time dedicated to finding and catching the limited amount of prey left little time for leisure. Though perhaps the experience itself was interesting to another such as Wraith but to her it was all she had known and it didn't seem that interesting. She noted then the manner in which is eyes seemed to stray, a sign of his reluctance to share his own story his words that followed confirmed this.
His story was minimal at best but she forgave him for that, there was no written law that stated you must give as easily as you got or was offered and every wolf was entitled to their own personal secrets. His attentions drew back to her then and her own eyes focused on his drawing him in, but it was him that was drawing her in and his voice seemed to go down in pitch ever so slightly, a hint of seriousness, more so that his previous statements, entered his tone. 'We're assassins.' the words echoed in her mind and she knew then why all the caution had been present throughout their meeting but besides that she was struck at how matter of fact he declared such a thing the business didn't seem at all strange to the large ebony pawed male. More than this he didn't seem at all concerned about her opinion on the matter, but then again why should he, she was the vulnerable one here and though he had offered protection and a warm place to rest her head he had never promised anything besides, she shook her head to herself life wasn't easy but then that's what made it worth living, to strive for something and all she wanted was little comfort and a little more ease to her daily living.
She took a nonchalant tone, 'Assassins, that's a dark business. Strange to have left a previous pack and then used old skills to form a pack with such a nature.' She looked at him for a single breath and then in warmer tones she added, 'Do not worry Wraith I am no harm to you or the secrecy of your pack or your own personal history.' She closed her eyes then and doing do seemed to blot out the knowledge of another wolf in her presence and the pain and aches came swarming back to her awareness, she cringed and then relaxed attempting to deal with them enough that she could attempt to sleep. More serious thoughts on what she was to do once morning came and after that, once she was strong enough to leave what would she do then, would Wraith let her leave with such knowledge as to the nature of his pack, she wasn't sure, but she pushed them aside, one thing at a time she told herself. She opened her eyelid slightly to catch the shadowy outline of Wraith resting a few paces away from her, the presence of the solemn male was somehow comforting to her and that thought alone was enough to send her off in to a deep physically exhausted slumber.
