Hero is coming...

Someone get me a napkin. I'm drooling. xp

you won't be disappointed, marty. personally, I think the story is alot better than crouching tiger, and I've seen CTHD like 10 times already.

the first fight scene alone will have you picking up your jaw from the lap of the guy sitting in front of you. mrgreen

Has antont seen Jet Li's new movie, "hero"? It's not out in theaters yet where I am but it might be in other place. If no one has seen it, who thinks it's going to be good?

that's what we've been talking about, kiara.

I've seen it three times already.
once downloaded from kazaa,
once from a bootleg my friend bought off the street,
and once at the Otakon.

it's an excellent movie. I liked it better than Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

here's a question on another movie.

there's a thai movie called "Ong Bak" that they played at the Otakon as well, but I wasn't able to catch it. there was an article about it in Inside Kung Fu proclaiming it to be the best Muay Thai movie ever made.
anyone here seen it yet?

I watched it, on a tiny airplane seat screen.

The story is paper thin, as you might expect -- country boy with amazing Muay Thai skills travels to big, corrupt city to recover stolen Buddha head from his village. Not much to speak of there.

However, I found the fight scenes to be pretty damned good, and downright brutal, at times. There are also some spectacular stunts that need to be seen to be believed.

Definitely worth watching.
By all means, watch the movie.

*Nodds in agreement.* I always wondered.....is he related to Bruce Li? Or is Bruces' last name spelled Lee?

If you are referring to the legendary martial artist, the name is Bruce Lee. And they are not related, as far as I know.

There was a Bruce Li who starred in a martial arts film, but he was one of the many imitators seeking to cash in on Bruce Lee's popularity, back in the late 70s.

There was a Bruce Li movie where he fights a guy in a gorilla outfit. It was the greatest thing ever. xd

in a really roundabout way, Jet Li and Bruce Lee may be related...but we're talking about the great great great x1000 grandfather's brother sort of way.
Li and Lee are the same name in chinese. there's alot of the Lee family name..but then there's also Wong, Hung/Hong, Choi/Choy and so on...

still haven't finished downloading Ong Bak. confused it's taking forever. and I download cause nowhere around here would carry it. sweatdrop

oh marty, you see Hero yet?
