Emma materialized in a rather strange fashion: straight out of one of the books lying rather unassumingly on a nearby shelf. She dusted herself off and looked around for Alnette.

"Emma?" Alnette looked up from her book, detecting a familiar presence. "Ah! It is you!" She grinned and stood up to meet her. "What brings you here, my friend?"

"Surprisingly enough, I am here by accident." She said, plucking the book she had appeared from off its shelf. "Turns out that when you author a grimoire, you are automatically linked to all copies."

"Is that so? That is definitely fascinating! I must write that down." Though Alnette was fairly good with magic outside of the Necropolis, her powers were increased tenfold when she was within the boundaries. She demonstrated this by conjuring a small journal and a pen from then air and hastily wrote something down, banishing them when she finished. "Sorry, but I like to keep those memorized and I find it easier to memorize something when I write it down." She paused. "So, since coming here was an accident, what did you intend to do?"

"I was working on an old spell of mine that I'd been meaning to rework, using the grimoire as a reference and I was...redirected."

A single spark of stray magic had sucked her into the book itself, and only by a very nimble bit of sorcery had she managed to get herself out.

Alnette's use of magic was noted and filed away in a mental drawer.

"Oh, I see... What was the spell you were reworking?" Alnette tilted her head to the side, curious. The book she had been reading before Emma's unexpected arrival was long forgotten.

"A different method of summoning minor spirits that doesn't violate any major laws. Samhain's right around the corner, you know."

"I see... Sounds like an interesting spell."

"It most certainly is. Now-" Emma took a good look around for the first time. "Where exactly am I?"

"The library, in my castle. It's in the center of the castle, but closer to the west wing." Alnette nodded.

Alnette hummed to herself as she read a book silently. This itself was not odd, in itself, but instead of sitting in her favorite chair, she was floating in the air.

This felt more natural to her than a chair, especially since her wings made chairs quite uncomfortable.

Casus appeared through the void of subspace into the library. He was wonderfully pleased by the assortment of rare texts that surrounded him. He noticed Alnette reading peacefully, humming to herself. He approached his feline body gracefully moving amongst the carpet

Alnette was currently engrossed in a book. She had been reading it all day, and was nearly finished. She turned a page, her attention entirely on the book.

Jericho knocked lightly on the door to the library, trying to be as polite as possible as it was the first time he would meet the Baroness. He had been directed to the Necropolis by Aven, and was curious.

Alone? This is simply too easy. A hooded figure slipped into the library, carefully slipping the door closed behind her with a slight thud. She hoped the baroness wouldn't notice and make her job easier. Argat'll be pleased. Slipping her bow off of her back, she pulled and arrow from the quiver, taking aim. Once she finished off the baroness, she'd have to deal with the current baron, but that could wait.
