The Mysterious Letter

Karma stumbled down the stairs leading to her kitchen, it was noon, and she had just woken up. "Mail, mail, mail, mail." She repeated to herself over and over. She couldn't forget to check the mail. After fogetting that she actually had a mailbox for a few days she was sure that there would be letters.

"Hey mom, you're up! What's for breakfast?" Riyo asked while he watched a documentary on the animals of the arctic.

"Mail, mail, mail, mail." Karma ignored Riyo, she'd never get the mail if she started on breakfast.

Riyo looked up from his documentary. "Mom, you okay? I don't really want to eat mail. I mean, I dunno if it's even possible to eat mail." He watched her trot out of the kitchen and gave her a strange look.

She walked out of the kitchen, and through the front door, he pace gradually speeding up. "Mail, mail, mail. Must, get mail!" She ended up sprinting to the mailbox. "Finally." Karma got out her key, and jammed it into the lock, it clicked open as she twisted the key. She peered inside to see only a few bills, some Christmas magazines, and a single letter. "Wow! That was surprising. I would've expected my parents to go all out like they do every Christmas." She picked up everything out of her mailbox and headed inside her cozy home. "I wonder what this one letter is for." She laid the bills and magazines onto the hallway's small display desk. "Hmm, the return address is.." She gasped, "It's from the Aerandir project!" Karma practically flew to the kitchen table she was running so fast. Carefully she opened the envelope, and read it's letter. "Welcome Karmatic, you have been invited to join the-" Karma stared at the letter.

"Hey mom! Can I have food now? Please?" Riyo asked, hearing his mother speaking in the kitchen.

"Riyo! Riyo you won't believe what happened!" Karma ran into the tv room and scooped up the unsuspecting Shee. "I got accepted into the Aerandir project! I can't believe it! This is wonderful!" Karma plopped the child down on the nearby couch and dashed up the stairs to her room.

"Humph, I guess not then." Riyo shrugged, picked up an apple, then wandered back to see the rest of the documentary.

"Percival! Dear Percy! I got accepted into the Aerandir project!" Karma ran over to the small bed that was located near the window in her room. She picked up the young Shee and held him in her hand.

Percival's pupils dialated and he gurgled happily when he was picked up. "Waiwai! Yaa!" He babbled excitedly. His mother was happy, and he fed off of
that happiness.

"Hee hee! Now to pack and phone Karia! She'll want to know as well!" Karma gently placed the tiny baby back into his bed and ran to the phone. She punched in the ten digits excitedly. "The answering machine?" Karma pouted for less than a milli-second before she zoomed to the hallway closet. "Now to pack!"

Packing for the New Home

Karma yanked out a rather large plastic suitcase and dragged it into her room. "Okay! First, the basics. Toothbrush, hairbrush, toothpaste, soap, glasses case..." The list continued on and on. When she stated a item she would need, Karma went and grabbed it, tossing it into her bag before retrieving the next one. "Alright, I think all I need are clothes now. That's good, I don't have too much more room left." Karma pulled out a few shirts, and a couple pairs of pants. "Well... It's supposed to be nice and warm but..." She looked at her sweater, pondering whether to bring it or not. "Just in case. You never know, right?" Karma yanked out her favorite sweater and shoved it into the last cranny in the suitcase. "Well, I guess I'm all packed!" While she zipped up the suitcase, her favorite two books were slipped into her purse, there wasn't any more room in her suitcase which she had closed. "I should try Karia again." She dialed the same ten didgits as she had before, and heard the fait ringing that told her that her call had gone through.

"Hello?" Karia half-asked. She knew it was Karma, she had caller-id. The question was just to be polite.

"Hi Karia! It's Karma, you'll never believe the wonderful news I have!" Karma squealed with excitement.

"What is it?"

"Do you remember when I told you that I'd be gone for the day? I was going to an information night on the Aerandir project!"

"Oh! I do recall that. How did it go by the way? I never got around to phoning you back and asking."

"Well, I handed in an applicant sheet, and guess what? I was accepted! I have to leave on a ferry to the islands so I can raise the little one though."

"Wow! Congradulations! But, how will you take care of Percy? And Riyo? What about them? I'm glad that you have this wonderful opprotunity to be in the Aerandir project and all, but what will you do about the kids? You can't just leave them alone..." Karia was just a bit more than a little worried about Percy and Riyo. Yes, only Percy was a baby, but Karma couldn't expect him to be taken care of by Riyo.

"I was wondering about that... Maybe, well.. Could you take care of them? I mean, you have a wonderful new house, and your adoptee has been given a better home, if I'm correct..."

"I guess I could, but we'd have to move everything over here first. Is that okay with you? Is there enough time?" Karia would have to do a lot more than just move some stuff over, but she had no other choice. She wasn't about to let her brothers try and fail at taking care of themselves. They might get seriously hurt!

"Yes! That would be awesome! How about we start the moving tommorrow? It's getting kind of late today.." Karma glanced at the clock, yeah. 8:00pm was a little late to start moving.

"Okay, tommorrow we move in. Now that that's settled, I have a few things to move around first." Karia hung up and walked over to her couch, it was going to be a long week, she could tell.

Karma nodded her head proudly. Now that that was over and dealt with, she just had to get a good night's sleep before the first moving adventure began.

Finally at the Ferry

After the good night's sleep that they both had needed, Karia and Karma had packed all of Riyo and Percy's things into boxes of varying sizes. "Well," Karma started as she laid down what seemed to be the last box in Karia's living room. "I do believe that we're finished."

"Yup, it looks like it." Karia slipped in-between the boxes and into the kitchen that was connected to the living room. "Lemonade?"

"No, I have to run." Karma took a small, gold slip of paper out of her jeans' pocket. "The ferry leaves soon, and I don't want to miss it." She followed Karia's path to the kitchen, and gave her a quick hug. "I'll phone you, so don't worry."

"Okay, I'll take good care of Riy and Percy! And I'll give you updates!" Karia told her mom as she lead her to the door.

"Thanks, talk to you later! Bye!" And with that, Karma left the house, and entered her car, excited about raising her Aerandir. As she drove off, Karma would occasionally glance at the two jars sitting comfortably in a small box that she had filled with tissue, so they wouldn't clink together and break. "Well, I'm on my way to another great adventure." She spoke softly to herself. Half an hour later, at a red light, Karma picked the gold ticket from her pocket once again. "Hrmm, almost there." She pressed on the gas pedal as the green light switched on. Twelve minutes later, they arrived at the ferry, Karma let out a sigh of relief, glad that she hadn't missed the ferry. "Okay, according to the ticket, I have an hour before the ferry leave! That's great!" She exited her car, and yanked her suitcase out of the trunk. After firmly closing the trunk, she opened the door to the front passenger seat, and scooped up the box that held the two jars.

The time between entering the ferry terminal, and boarding the ferry could be described in two words, utter chaos. Once Karma had entered the terminal, she was bombarded by a horde of small children, kindergarteners she assumed. Turns out they were on a "field trip" for a "wonderful and exciting learning experience" because watching a giant boat float on water is so educational. While the teacher of said children was explaining this all to Karma, her departure time was steadily inching closer and closer. By the time the lengthy explanation was finished, the guardian had but three minutes to find the right gate in which she had to go through to get on her ferry. Thanks to an extremely helpful service-lady, she made it with seconds to spare.

"Wow," Karma inspected a rather large bruise on her knee, three on her arm, and several more in assorted places on her body. "Those little kids are rough! They gave me upwards of ten bruises!" She glanced towards the artifacts, sitting happily in their jars. "At least you weren't hurt." Karma picked up the jar's box and placed it on her lap. She carefully slipped one of the jars out, the one holding the Ptarmigan feather, and examined it. "A Ptarmigan feather, I wonder what type of Ptarmigan you'll turn out to be." Karma smiled gently, and placed the jar back into the box, and picked out the other one. "And a reindeer antler. What an interesting combination. I wonder what our adventures ahead will be like." After carefully placing the artifact's jar back into it's box for safekeeping, Karma slipped a large book out of her bag. "I might as well get the first entry in, to pass the time on the ferry." She opened the book, and picked out her large quill pen and sparkly purple ink from inside her bag.

Quote:
This is my first entry into this log, and I do hope it will be sufficient.
As of now, the Aerandir artifacts that I have received are in separate jars. One is a feather from a Ptarmigan, the other is a reindeer antler. They seem to be giving off a faint blue sparkle. I can't wait to see how this project will go.
Because of their current artifact state, they don't have that much of a personality.
The feather is white, with thick brown striped, and the occasional dot. The antler is a light tan-brown.

When Karma finished her short first entry she wasn't surprised to find that she was far from her destination. "I guess I might as well take a short nap." She did, Karma rolled over in her seat, and slept like a baby.

The Effect of Several Sleepless Nights

Karma had obviously had several sleepless, or close to sleepless nights before the ferry ride. For when the loud bell, that sounded oddly like a foghorn, sounded to signal the arrival at the Ar' Idil Island, she slept through it. She might've kept on sleeping, if it wasn't for one of the staff members.

"Miss? Ummm, we have already started to turn around.." He gently poked her arm. "I think you missed your stop."

Karma stirred a little, then sat up when she was poked. "Who? What? Where? Are we there yet?" She asked groggily, wiping her eyes and adjusting her glasses.

"Well, Miss. You just missed your stop. We're turning around to go to the Gaia mainland now." The boy repeated.

"What? I missed it? No! I.. I'll swim over! That's it! It's not too far, I know I can do it if I try!" Karma bolted to the nearest door, about to jump over-board.

"Miss! Wait, no! You won't make it! It's farther than it looks, and you?ll get weighed down by your clothing! I recommend that you just wait till the next ferry comes!" The boy shouted, as he slowly drew nearer and nearer to Karma. Hoping that he'd be able to keep her from jumping overboard.

"No! I have to be on that island! I can't delay this young one's development just because I slept!" She once again prepared herself to jump over the railing.

The staff member took a leap, and landed on her back, keeping her from jumping. "Fine. If it's so dreadfully important that you go, then go. But at least take a boat!" He wheezed as he climbed off of Karma's back.

Karma rubbed her back a little when she was let free. "A boat? How could I take a boat? Wouldn't it get beached?" She inquired. The prospect of taking a boat sounded preferable to swimming, but she saw no boats.

The boy grinned, "A life boat." He pointed to a stack of large white boxes. "If you use one of those, it won't get beached. It's too small." He explained as they slowly walked towards the boxes.

"Oh, alright." Karma agreed, happy that there was a better way of getting to the island than swimming. She followed the boy, and listened intently, clutching the box that carried the two jars close to her body.

"Now, all you have to do, is press the big green button, throw it over the ferry, wait, then jump in. I'll toss your luggage to you afterwards. When you get to the island, I'll pull the boat back with the string that connects the two. Got it?" He explained carefully.

Karma nodded, then looked down at the box she was holding. "Could you pass this box down attached to a string? It's very delicate, and I don't want it being tossed about."

The staff member nodded, "Sure"

"Thanks. So, the green button, toss, wait, jump, then catch?" Karma listed the steps that she would soon go through with, making sure that she knew what she had to do.

The boy nodded again, she had the order of the procedure right.

"Well, off I go!" She pressed the button, and tossed it over. When the box touched the water, it exploded into a bright orange lifeboat. Karma took a deep breath, handed the box holding her Aerandir artifacts to the boy, and jumped onto the boat. PLOP! She landed smack dab in the middle of it's plastic floor. After checking for any cuts or bruises, she waited patiently for her luggage and artifacts.

"Okay, suitcase coming down!" The boy yelled, and shortly after the large black and silver bag plummeted down from the ferry, and landed beside Karma with a loud thud.

Karma looked around her, no holes, and everything was functional, good. "Alright, it's safe now. Slowly lower the box down to me!" She instructed to the staff member.

He emitted a soft sigh, and did as she said. He gently, slowly, carefully, lowered the box down after tying it to a long string.

When the box was within Karma's reach, she took it into her hands and cradled it in her arms happily. "Thanks so much!" She called to the boy. She waved to him, and started to row towards the island. In fifteen short minutes, Karma had arrived safely at the shore of the Ar'Idil island. "We're finally here! I can't believe it! We're actually here!" Karma exclaimed to the box excitedly. "I can't wait!" She gave it one more quick squeeze, before she pulled her suitcase out, and shoved the boat back, so it'd be easier to pull back to the ferry. Taking one last good look at the giant boat that had delivered her to the island, Karma darted off to a village that she could see a bit away.

It's New, Empty, and Should Be Decorated!
-Part one-

Karma practically flew to the group of huts that she could see. "We're here." She paused for a moment to catch her breath. "Now, I have to find lodge number.." Karma was just about to say her hut number, when she looked up and saw a lodging with the number two carved into a plank of wood. "Well, that was easy." She smiled, and glanced at her box, making sure that it was still safe. Thankfully it was. "Now, let's go and unpack." Karma turned the door handle, and it clicked. Pushing the door open, Karma and the jars were greeted with a large empty space. "I can work with this."

She walked in, and closed the door behind her. There wasn't much in the hut, on the left hand side there was a room with a toilet, sink, and a tub. On the opposite end, was a sort of closet, when Karma went inside to explore it, she saw rows of shelves, and a few wicker baskets huddled in the corner. Karma nodded her head, "So we have a bathroom, and I guess this could be a pantry of sorts. Somewhere to store food and supplies." She grinned, and walked farther into the first floor, when she got to the center, she placed her suitcase in one corner, and held the box to her chest, not letting go. It would explore the depths of the hut with her. To her right, there was a large counter-top like space, it too was equipped with a sink, though that one was much smaller than the one in the bathroom. Karma grinned, she would love making food in this place, it had more kitchen space than she thought it had. When she turned around, she was faced with a fair sized fireplace, and two old chairs. The fabric on the chairs was a little bit torn, the chairs themselves looked stable, though Karma wasn't that sure. As she about-faced once again, she noted a ladder in between the counter-top, and the pantry.

"I wonder where this leads." Karma climbed up the steps in the ladder, and ventured onto the second level of the hut. The ceiling was low, if she stood on a short box, it could be easily touched. Karma took a few steps forward and practically triped over a pile of stuff covered with a large canvas. "Oh good go-" Karma was cut off. When she pulled off the canvas, a hoard of moths bombarded her face, then fluttered about until they found their way out. Via the multiple open windows located on the north side of the hut. After brushing herself off, Karma saw a couple more chairs, and a small couch. "Well, now I know that the fabric isn?t torn." She laid her hand on the couch, "It's eaten, that's so much better." A slight shudder creeped through her back as she spoke her sarcastic words. Karma turned around, and found her way down the ladder, "I suppose I should start unpacking." She said to the box, "Then we can re-arrange some things."

It's New, Empty, and Should Be Decorated!
-Part Two-

Karma gently set the box down on the floor, as she shoved the large suitcase over onto it's side. "Now, to open this." She yanked a small silver key out of her jean pocket, and pushed it into the equally small keyhole in the suitcase's lock. She turned it, and pulled off the lock and key. When she unzipped the bag, it's contents practically exploded out of it. Karma instinctively covered the box that sat beside her. After a moment, she peeked out, and saw that almost everything in her bag, had been thrown across the first floor, and had created quite a mess. "Oh brother." Karma muttered, she stood up and stretched a little before picking up the box, and a few shirts that had landed near her. "This'll take some doing." She placed the box onto the counter-top in the kitchen, and scooped up all of the pants, books, brushes, and portable room separators that landed on the surface. She placed everything in piles, "Shirts over here.. Pants beside them, as goes with accessories. The room separators, hrm, they can go over here." About thirty-five minutes later, the first floor was spick and span, with several piles of stuff lined up through it's middle.

Karma took a deep breath, and leaned on the counter beside the box. "I suppose, now that we're here, and there won't be anymore flying objects, that I should take the artifacts out of the box." She picked up the box and carefully lifted up the top. There were a few pieces of 's' shaped Styrofoam covering the first jar, and Karma easily wiped them away. Picking up the jar that held the reindeer antler, and gently placed it on the counter, a far away from the edge. After insuring it's safety, she scooped the other jar, holding the Ptarmigan feather, out of the box and did the same. "There, now I can properly look at you guys." Karma's head leaned on her hands, which were supported by her elbows resting on the counter. Moment later, Karma smiled, patted each of the jars, and got back to work. She took the room separators to the second floor and set them up so the room was divided in two, the left side being significantly smaller, and acting as her bedroom. The right half, was to be her Aerandir's future bedroom, but at the time, proved to be an excellent second living room. She trotted downstairs and checked on the jars. They were alright, good. Karma continued with her re-arranging of things. Her collapsible, foldable futon had been dragged into her bedroom, and her clothes were stuffed into a large cardboard box, which was placed in the corner vertical to Karma's bedroom. Several thin rugs were plopped onto the ground in various places, one in the upstairs living room, one in her bedroom, and the final one in the kitchen. "Almost done!" Karma said half excitedly, half tired, as she wiped her forehead free of sweat. Glancing at the jars once again, a smile creeped onto Karma's face, she couldn't help but feel excited for what was to come.

Karma climbed back up the ladder, and dragged the couch out from under the rest of the canvas. She pulled it across the room, and was only satisfied with its position when it was stationed on the south wall, facing the array of windows. She took a breather, and sat down on the couch. "My! This is rather comfortable!" She relaxed for a moment, then pulled herself off of the couch, and to the two chair standing beside a crumpled canvas. "Well, this will not do." She carried each of the chairs to their new respective places, a little bit in front of the couch, and up against the room separators. Once this was done, and Karma was finally happy with how everything was strategically placed throughout the hut, Karma darted down the ladder, and gave each of the jars a hug. "Finally, everything's in order, and we can start to live!" It was about that time, that she noticed that some items still had to be put in the bathroom. She sighed, and picked up the small stack of soaps, shampoos, brushes, and toothpastes that had been placed onto the counter. "Alrighty then," she said to her jars before walking to the bathroom and placing everything where it should be. "Now," Karma walked back over to the jars. "We're officially moved in."

Get Ready To Rumble!
-Part One-

Karma stretched her arms out, and smiled. She scooped up the two jars, thier journal, and her quill pen and it's sparkly purple ink. Karma clambered up the ladder, and crawled into her futon that had been set up in the north-west corner of the second floor. "Time now, just to relax, so I can get another entry in." She curled up, and began to write.

Quote:
Looking back on the last entry I wrote, I don't believe it was sufficient. So now that I have more time, and have leared more about my Aerandir, I think this entry will go, much, much better.

As of today, I have officially moved into my hut. It's number two and close tot he lodge. I've been doing some reaserch on the artifacts that I'm taking care of. This information, as well as a house plan has been pasted onto the first page of this journal, so it is easy to find.

Though just for a summary, the Ptarmigan is an agile type of grouse. It stays in colder areas, and eats a variaty of berries, bud, bark, insects, and vegtables.
The Reindeer, is a close relative of the Caribou. Reindeer can survive in fairly cold climates, and can also live comfortably in warm ones. It's hair is special, and traps air in it. Making the Reindeer both insulated, and bouyant.

Now, the pantry is in desparate need of food, so I must attend to that matter.

Karma closed the book, and slid it under her pillow. "Best to keep it there, so I don't forget it." She managed her way downstairs with the jars in her arm. "Better get that food now." She pulled on her shoes, "I can't survive on air." As she took a step towards the door though, Karma felt something, odd. It came from the ground, almost like, it was rumbling. She shook her head, she had to be dreaming, those sorts of things didn't happen out of the blue! "That was wierd." Karma said instead, and opened the door. "Woah.." There was another rumble. Karma waited for a moment, no rumble, no wierd feelings coming from the ground. She closed the door. "Now, to get that food." She looked around nervously, and clutched the jars closer to her. The rumbles worried her, as did the lack of Aerandir and guardians walking around, but she swallowd back her worry and headed for the lodge.

Finally Finished!

After writing the entry, Karma took a nice long stretch, and picked up a piece of brick that came from the fallen fireplace. She grinned, ?This should work nicely.? Picking up the old pieces of wood, she pried the nails out of them, making a pile of them to her right. Once the pile had gotten to a sufficient size, Karma picked up a handful, and carried them up to the attic with the brick. ?Alright, this goes here, and this here..? She placed them out by the gaping hole in the wall. She climbed down the ladder, and darted outside. Karma bent over to pick up ten planks of wood, when she saw something familiar. ?What? What was that?? Scooping up her jars, Karma rushed off to the left of her hut. There, lo and behold, was the large sheet of canvas that had covered the furniture that had been there when she arrived. ?Oh!? Karma cried happily, before picking up the canvas with one hand, and dragging it back to her house. ?This could be used as a makeshift roof! Well, sort of. It?ll be much better than nothing.? So she placed down the jars, and journeyed through the deck, and up the ladder into the attic. ?There!? Everything was at the ready, and now all the cabin needed was some elbow grease.

Two hours later, hut number two had gotten just what it needed. The wall was repaired, though it was a little bit messy, and the canvas had been nailed on as a temporary roof. ?Well, my precious jars, our home is finally ready to be moved back into!? Excitedly, Karma skipped into the hut, and placed the jars down on the kitchen counter. She skidded outside, and one by one, pulled and heaved each piece of furniture back in. By the evening, the only thing different about the cabin, was that it had a new roof, a new skylight, and a little bit of ash still floating around here and there. Wiping her forehead free of sweat, Karma took a long breath of cool night air into her lungs. ?We?re finally finished.?

The Official Document

Karma had once again accidentally fallen asleep on the deck. When she woke up and stretched her arms, something that had become a morning ritual, she noticed an envelope pinned to her hut door. "Whaat?" Her confused question was muffled by her yawn. "What is that? It looks like a letter of some sort." Curiously, the guardian twisted around on the deck, and stood up. She walked over to the envelope, and removed the pin holding it onto the door. "Wonder what it's for, and who it's from.." Sliding her first finger through the envelope's flap, she opened it and pulled out the letter inside. "Wow, it looks official." After stating the rather obvious fact, she read the letter out to herself quietly.

Official Document

Dear Karma,
I am happy to note that the accomodation you were allocated has now reached a stage which is suitable for your Aerandir items to be placed together within a single bottle. This will allow for them to "merge" - admittedly, however, this process may take some time.

The reason I am writing to you is to confirm that we have a name for your Aerandir for our records. Further study of the evidence gleaned from your artifacts has shown that it is 82% likely to be male. I included this information with the hope of perhaps aiding you in choosing a name. If you could get back to me with haste I will arrange for all of the formalities to be completed so that we may start you on your way as an Aerandir guardian.

Yours sincerely,

Anthony Blakewell,
Ar' Idil Administrator.

Karma stared at the letter, it's information buzzing around her head. She re-read it. Finishing it for the second time, she squealed in delight. "Oh, I can't wait! It'll be a boy! No, he'll be a boy!" She stuffed the letter back in the envelope, and pinned it back onto her door. Rushing over to her jars she picked them up and cuddled them happily. "You guys are going to merge soon! Well, not soon actually, but you'll be in one jar! Then later on you'll merge!" It had just occured the Karma that she wasn't sure how the merging process went. This fact, however, only made her pause the excitement momentarily. "Merge, I wonder how that's done..." She imagined the artifacts liquifying and forming a puddle of ooze. Shuddering, she shook her head, another thought hopping to the front of her brain. "A name, I'll have to give you one. Hmmm..." She turned the jars around a bit, examining the artifacts from every angle. "How about..." She peered at them through thier glass jars for a second more. "How about Faust?" She smiled, "Yes, Faust, I like that name, I hope you end up liking it as well." Giving the jars a tight hug, Karma scuttled into the hut, and up to her 'room'.

"Now for that letter, Anthony- wasn't he the man who was outside during the eruption?- said he needed a reply soon." Carefully placing the jars down on her futon (Which, on account of a lack of duct tape was just pushed together.) she yanked out her writing tools. "Now, dear Anthony." That was as good a start as any, "I have just recieved your letter, and I am doubly excited about the news!" She continued to write for a bit, before carefully ripping the page out of the back of the journal, and reading it over.

Karma's response

Dear Anthony,
I have just recieved your letter, and I am doubly excited about the news! I understand that the merging process may take some time, but I still can't wait until I get to see how the artifacts will turn out. I guess I'm a little bit excited, sorry. Anyways, after giving it some thought, I have come up a name for my soon to be Aerandir. The name I've chosen is Faust, I do hope he will like it. Oh! While I'm writing this to you, I would like to give you a proper thank you for letting me help the Aerandir. It occured to me that I hadn't yet, and I thought that I should.

Wishing you the best in whatever you do,
Karma

"Yes, that should do it!" Carefully folding the letter into thirds, she picked up the jars and darted down the ladder to the door. She pulled the pin out of the envelope, and took out Anthony's letter to her, putting her own in. "Now to drop it off at the mailbox!" She thought for a moment, and quickly wrote 'To Anthony' in sparkly purples writing on the front. "There, now I can put it in the mailbox." And so she did, running off to the Lodge, and plopping it into the mailbox.

The Coming Of The Reply

Karma had just gotten back from the Lodge, and had gone inside her hut for some peaceful reading. Suddenly, something sprang into her mind. "I have to get food!" It was a random outburst that had broken a calming silence, but food was more important than that. "Geez! I don't believe I forgot to get food while I was at the Lodge!" She picked up her jars, closed the book she was reading, and scurried down the ladder, and out of the cabin. When she turned around to close the door, she saw a familiar sight. "Wow, another letter?" There was a letter pinned to her door. She removed the pin, and unfolded the letter. "It's another one from Anthony!" Once again, she read it aloud to herself.

Anthony
Thank you for your quick response to my query. I have a few rounds to make this afternoon and so will hopefully catch you on my way to arrange for your items to be placed into one jar.

There really is no need to thank me. I am, after all, doing my duty on this Island. The thanks should be to you, as a guardian, for helping this programme continue.

All the best,

Anthony

She grinned at the thought of having the artifacts in one jar. It was another step further into the programme. "I'll go write a response again." She clutched the jars in one arem and the letter in the other as Karma went back to her trusty futon and got out her journal, quill and signature sparkly purple ink.

Karma's response
Dear Anthony,
You're welcome, I was excited about my Aerandir artifacts, so naturally I responded as soon as I recieved the letter. Just as I have done with this letter.

That would be great! Though after looking at my pantry I might be at the Lodge getting some food and drinks. Either way, I look forward to our meeting, and having the artifacts in one jar.

Until then,
Karma

"There, that should do it! Now to drop ths off, and get some food into this hut!" Karma sealed her reply back into the envelope, and wrote 'To Anthony' on the front again. Skipping off to the Lodge again, she dropped the letter into the mailbox while she was there.

Food For The Soul And Writing For The Book

Karma looked around the Lodge, there wasn't really anyone there, but that was alright. She didn't expect anyone to be there anyway. "So, food would be in the kitchen and if my memory serves me right, that's over..." She wandered farther into the Lodge, and turned around to face the kitchen. "Here!" Karma finished her last sentence gleefully as she walked into the kitchen.

The first place she looked was the fridge, "No, nothing I could keep in my cabin here..." If she took something from the fridge, it most likely needed to be kept cold, and the weather since she had gotten here, had been the wxact opposite. "Let's try these cupboards.." She closed the fridge, and sank down onto her knees so she could open the cupboards. Once opened Karma saw a variaty of different foods thatcould be taken to the hut safely. "Perfect! This is where the food is." She was about to take the food when a thought struck her. What if I shouldn't be taking these? What if they're someone else's? Ohh... She stared at the food for a moment, and shook her head free of the thought. "No, they wouldn't put it here then. Besides," she said to herself as she collected some pasta, and canned beans. "I don't want Faust and I," She smiled in a motherly way when she waid Faust. "To end up starving to death, and I get the feeling that no one else does either."

With that settled in her mind, and with a nice supply of food in her arms, Karma slowly, so as not to drop anything, walked out to her cabin. "We made it!" Happily she opened the door to her hut, and barley had time to stumble over to her sofa before letting everything go onto the sofa. "Now comes orginization." She picked up the pasta boxes and placed them on one of the shelves in the pantry, same went with the loaf of bread, a bit of meat, and three cans of beans. Now that that was settled, Karma had to do some more writing in the log. "Oh yes, I should probably write in the Lodge, just in case Anthony comes by there. I told him in the letter I sent him that that's where I'd probably be." Shrigging, Karma picked up Faust and climbed up the ladder to get her writing things, which had been left on top of her broken futon this time. After collectiong what she needed, the excited guardian rushed off to the Lodge.

"Heh, I keep on coming back, it's almost like this Lodge is an old friend." Karma directed herself towards the chairs in the center of the room and sat down in one. "Oooh, comfy." She leaned back, and started to write the entry.

Today has been the most exciting day! I recieved a letter from Anthony, and it said that my artifacts would soon be in one jar, and soon after that, they would "merge". I'm not quite sure how that's done though. I have a vague idea, but I doubt it's right.

Getting back on topic, the artifacts will soon be placed in one jar, (In fact Anthony should be here soon to do just that!) and I cannot wait, one step closer to helping to save the Aerandir race, or species...

Right now, the actual artifacts haven't changed. They're still solid and letting off a faint blue sparkle. No differences yet.

Karma finished the entry fairly quickly, and decided to sit and relax for a while. It vertainly wouldn't be hurting anyone, so it should be okay. Holding Faust in her hands, Karma set the log book down on the table with her quill and ink.
