On her way to the lodge to get a small portion of food, Karma felt something, almost like a low deep rumble from beneath her. She swallowed back a faint cry, and pulled the two jars she was carrying closer to her body. "It's, it's, okay.." She stuttered nervously, and sped up her pace. Another rumble hit, Karma's eyes shot to the jars, they were alright, good. In what seemed like a matter of seconds, Karma had managed to get to the lodge, she opened the door and took a deep breath.
When she took a look around, Karma found that practically everyone else was there. Obviously something was happening. Karma was just oblivious as to what. She tried to speak, but for some reason, she couldn't. Karma took a deep breath, again, and tried once more,"What, what's going on?" good, it worked. She pulled the jars even closer to her.

Was this everyone? Emi glanced up at the newcomer who had trundled in complete with two jars held in her arms, well that was another one. Tapping Toby's nose, she feigned a smile. It wasn't that bad after all, was it? Her tail de-curled from around her ankle, the darker brown tip wavering in the air. Her grip finally loosened on the two jars in her lap, the camera case sliding back in her grasp.
"Hello." Emi (for once in her life) wished she was Killia. She'd know what to say, what to do, and even what would help at this moment in time. Pulling a few stray strands of hair from her eyes, she did her best to smile at the individual who had said hello. Her ears perked up, and she turned from where she was sat on the floor to face in his direction.
Toby, on the other hand, laid back down where he was. Finally placid again, he rested his head on his owner's lap. His tail stayed firmly between his legs, showing no sign of the usual joyful thump from one side of the other. It seemed he'd only just noticed the fearful red griffin. His ears cocked to one side, and his head went with it. Eyes watched as the jacket was tied around the Griffin's neck, and a whimper escaped from his throat in recompense.
"Much better....there, everything's going to be just fine Tobe's." Pet names were always a useful tool. The furry spoke softly, stroking over the animal's ears, scratching the delicate spot just behind his right ear. Toby instantly cocked his head right to one side, and for a brief moment it looked like his tail was going to flicker into action in the form of a wag. It didn't in the end.
The silence was more deafening than the roar from before. Emi shifted nervously, wanting to say something, anything. Even small talk at this moment would do. She opened her mouth to answer Karma's question, but quickly dropped that line of conversation. She didn't know herself what was going on, let alone telling anyone else what was kicking off around them.

Having taken to whispering murmurs of comfort to a very ruffled Sanar Chao finally returned her attention to the room. Wow, lots of people-lots of guardians actually. Some she knew but a bunch she didn't.
At least the ground had stopped shaking for a mo-nope, there it was again.
Sanar sat more fully on Chao's lap and took in the bigger group of people and-new gryphons! Had the ground not started to shake again she would've gone over to them, as it was she settled on waving and keeping a firm hold on Tobais.
Raising one hand away from where she'd been stroking Sanar's hair she waved to everyone, "erm-well, hello everyone." Looking to those who seemed to have recently appeared she frowned in concern, "has there been any changes outside?" she shot a glance at the radio which was had remained and was still silent.

The radio crackled "Anthony? Anthony do you copy?" it fell silent for a moment and then sparked up again "ANTHONY!"

Wyv's head jerked up at the crackle. "Huh? Radio?" She blinked, eyes bleary. "What's going on with that radio?" Hey, first coherent sentence of the day. Now she was getting somewhere. Silently, she thanked the god of things caffinated and bubbly.
The noise spooked Makai. Fleeing the disembodied voice, he clawed his way up into Wyv's lap, ignoring her discomfort. New and interesting things be damned. He wanted comfort.
Wincing at the sudden pain, she shook her head. "This is not a dream," she muttered, clearly wishing it were. She paused, eyes drawn to a nearby window. "Hey... is it getting darker?"

Progolo straddled Taal, pinning him to the floor...just in case. He was glad to see the dog calm down. It was hard to keep his cool when others around him were panicking.
Taal clicked his beak, but didn't protest further. Progolo stroked his head, murmurred a few gentle words, then fell silent, along with the rest of the room. It was eerily quiet. He took the oppurtunity to better examine his fellow Setonians. There was Chao, who was holding a little girl he didn't recognize, the furry owner of the dog, a woman who seemed to be suffering a serious hangover, and a few others and their Aerandir charges.
The small object near Chao suddenly spoke. "Anthony? Anthony do you copy? ANTHONY!"
Alyosha's tense voice made Taal flinch. Progolo put more weight onto the griffin to keep form darting.
"Hey... is it getting darker?"
Progolo looked up to a window, brow furrowed. A dark cloud was drifting across the sky. "I think it's smoke..." he said, more to himself than anyone.

Chao started and snapped back to the radio, after fiddling for a moment she placed her face closer to the mike- "Hello?! Hello this is Ar'Idil Lodge! Anthony hasn't returned yet. What's going on?!"
Sanar shivered at the sudden disembodied voice and the rumbling which had resumed with strength and curled closer to Chao who nuzzeled her with her cheek.
Grey eyes flit away from the radio system to the window for a oment, "it is getting darker..." she shivered slightly and turned back to the radio, willing it to crackle to life and present them with an answer as to what was going on.

Jizzy curled up in her seat as the shaking continued. The sky greww dark and she shuddered. "What is going on.." She muttered mostly to herself.
Tobias hooped unpleasantly as the ground becane to shake again . His beads clinked as he fought not to shiver in fear. He hooped up to Sanar. WHat was going on? He cuddled closer to her, seeking comfort.

"Earthquakes and smoke..." Wyv enouciated slowly, letting her mind get back in the swing of things. She shook her head, thinking. "Gotta be a volcano or something."
Oy, that was a cheerful though. She made a face. "Don't think it's ours though. Pro'lly would be... hotter, louder." She paused to shush Makai, who had begun to keen. Staying calm, that was the key. "Nastier. Definately," she finished with a nod.
Makai allowed himself to be placated. Seeing Tobias squiggle on Sanar's lap, her turned his attention that way and gave a curious whistle. Anything to ignore the sudden nightfall.
"If there are no more emergency bulletins, and it seems we're not going anywhere for the next, oh, long while, maybe introductions are in order?" The mechanic grinned, trying for a hopeful look but achieving a maniac one.

Following the words spoken throughout the room, Karma opened the door slightly. "The sky.." She heard a voice talking of smoke behind her, it was probably right. There were billowing clouds of grey floating around. She shut the door, and leaned against the wall behind her.
Karma quietly listened to the others talk for a moment, her eyes closed. Then she heard something, someone called Anothny, hadn't returned. Did that mean he left? Karma opened her eyes. "He's still out there then?" The clouds of smoke swooshed about in the sky. "That can't be good." She paused for a moment, before standing. She walked over to the lady at the CB radio, and stared at the contraption, confused. It baffled her how she could use the thing, but the thought quickly left her mind. "Excuse me.." Her voice was quiet, she was nervous around new people for some strange reason. "That man you were talking about on the radio. Anthony was it? You said that he hadn't returned, is he outside?" Karma glanced out a window that was in sight, the sky was getting darker, and filled with more smoke.

As the sky outside began to darken, the door to the lodge swung open. Moving quickly, the tall, adult Aerandir strode into the lodge, his broad wings folded tightly to his back. His wolf-like ears were flattened back slightly, and he was carrying a light, two pronged fish spear.
His sharp eyes surveyed the room for a brief moment, before he gave the people already there a nod of greeting. His expression was somewhat worried as he glanced back towards the door, almost as if he was looking for someone.

It wasn't long after the rumble beneath them that Toby was spurred back into panicking. He bolted right into Emi's grasp, blind with terror. Paws scrambled to get closer to his owner. He looked like a firework had just been set off, shivers spanning from up his tail to the tips of his ears. A whimper escaped his throat. It was a strange and rather high pitched squeak, one that accumulated everything that he felt in one sharp note.
"Calm down, please Tobes..." Emi whispered, over and over again. She'd barely moved from where she was, but now the furry pulled both jars and dog close to her chest once more. Her gaze darted towards the window, towards the blackening sky. Smoke clouded her view, and Emiko's ears pressed right back to her skull. Her tail flickered from one side to the other as everyone else talked around them. Voices milled from one side to the other. Something about a volcano, and something about introductions.
Her gaze finally met with the griffin being handled by Progolo. One arm wrapped around the dogs neck, she struggled to drag her jacket off. She'd tied it around her waist just in case - after all, the clouds had been there before she'd even left, and she didn't want to risk getting soaked. It was obvious she hadn't been here long enough to accustom herself to the climate. Pulling her jacket off, she rested it back onto the floorboards. Whispering soothingly into Toby's ears, she pulled Toby onto the coat, wrapping the arms loosely over his back. It seemed to work.
Toby shifted where he was, his panic attack spiralling down once more. He pushed his wet nose into the material wrapped underneath him. Darker paws pressed at his owner's side, pushing his muzzle lightly to the camera case. He wasn't completely calm, his wide eyes darting from the window to the wall and back every now and then.
"It is getting dark..." She murmured on her breath. As soon as the door swung open again, she rested her hand onto the dogs back. It wouldn't be any good if he panicked again. If she had been in the right state of mind the Furry would have gasped about now. Watching the male nod in greeting, she could do little more than nod in return. So that was what a fully grown Aerandir looked like, well - at least she thought he was an Aerandir. It made her capture a quick glance down towards the jars resting in her lap, and for a brief second a proud smile flashed across her face.

The radio crackled into life once again. "He's not there? Who is this? One of the residents? God.... I hope he's found shelter. Ok, well, is everyone else from Ar'Idil in the Lodge?" he sounded slightly scared, worried. "You need to tell them all to stay inside, there are buckets in the store cupboard, fill them with water in case of fire, and stay away from all windows and doors. Do you understand?" the radio fell silent for a moment "Radio here if there are any problems Alyosha out."
He abruptly ended the conversation, having to head back to those in Cetalu and make sure they were ok. The radio went silent once more.

Anthony staggered in the door, slamming it behind him and struggling to find the latch. He was coated with a fine layer of ash and his white hair had turned black with the powder. He wiped at his eyes, trying to clear them, to make it easier to see what in hell he was doing. He finally managed to snap the locks shut and stumbled back into the room, looking at who was all there.
It seemed that the people had made it back here. Everyone was inside it seemed. He searched out Chao, looking slightly wild eyed. Breathless he called to her "Any news?"

When the door swung open, Karma turned her head to see who it was. At first there was only one man. Soon after he entered, the radio crackled, and a slightly static message came through. She checked her posistion, away from both windows, and doors. A moment after the radio quieted, another man entered the lodge. The man was covered with some sort of ash, that couldn't be good. She opened her mouth to ask if the man was alright, but it occured to her that now was probably a bad time. Instead, she cradled the jars in her arms. They had some sort of comforting effect on her, she wasn't sure why, but at the time, comfort was one of the few things that was good.
