Ylva smiled and picked the pup up by her scruff and made a U turn for back home. Maybe after the pup had drifted to sleep she could sneak out and try to find something for them all to eat.
She did love her puppies, but they made life so much more complicated. But Ylva would do her best to parent them.
When they got to the den, Ylva gently put Adjoa down.
"Lets get some rest then shall we?" She nuzzled her puppy with her muzzle.

"I wanna sleep with daddy," she mumbled as she climbed over her siblings in an attempt to get closer to her father. It wasn't that she didn't love Ylva or appreciate the play time they'd just shared together. It was more that mom tended to sneak off in the morning and leave her cold. Asa was almost always there being warm and soft.
To a puppy it was the obvious choice. She yawned again then wedged herself between her father and another pup. She'd be asleep for the better part of the morning.

Ylva smiled watching her puppy snuggle up close to her daddy. Asa looked like quite the father with four puppies all snuggled close next to him. There was no time to be soaking in the glow of the family though, Ylva had work to do. Namely, get food before everyone woke up.
So, the hyena made it back up the tunnel and went on her way to find the family something to eat. It was hard work being a mom , but Ylva knew her puppies were worth it.
