Soro was a temperamental lion with a short fuse and needed no excuse to put a woman in her place. As it was, he was very annoyed that Lore had been sluggish in her duties to him. She wandered about the den with an air that she was ignoring him, and spent more time healing others than going off to hunt for him. When she left for a time, he felt she was taking advantage of him, and he was not about to let a female do such a thing.
Pacing the den, he looked at the spot that Lorelei was allowed to sleep and he kicked up a ribcage laying in the den as he awaited her return. She took too long and her visits outside of the den went longer and longer than he liked. If she ran, he would have to fetch her. He did NOT want to track her down.
Thinking about it, he turned and went off to find her.
It too time in the end, but he went for the water. Wandering, he walked along the river, and then through it, following the water as he went before coming up on the other side of the bank. It was the shouting that finally caught his attention when he was about to go and see if she had returned. If not, he would wait and punish her when she returned.
The noise got louder, and as he heard scuffling and the shouting of Lorelei, he grew angry before he even neared them. He heard a female yelling, and then Lore telling her to stay back. It was then roaring, the sound of trashing that made him rush out.
Seeing the two scuffle, he leaped out and already had his claws extended as he went to swipe the lioness off his property. He roared, loudly, the force of it coming out in a thunderous bellow as he set out to rip and tear. “GET OFF OF HER, YOU b***h!”

It wasn't hard for Soro to get the female off. Caellagh rolled at the blows, the claws raking her, but she didn't falter. Adrenaline kept her moving, and similarly... Unlike many in the pride, she had no cubs to fear repercussions on.
She looked up at a male voice, and every last one of her fangs was bared, as if they hadn't been before. Her fury only intensified, however. A female hiding behind a man! And an usurper to be sure. This was the kind of moment she waited for, and the lioness threw herself at Soro, claws first, snarling with an unnatural fury.
"I'll kill you both!" she screeched, and immediately began to try for the males Jugular. Enough games...
She was going for a kill.

Conciousness slipped away during the chaos, sheilding her from the slashing claws and hurt she felt inside. When she opened her eyes she cringed at the hot blood trickling down her side, bleeding out the fresh wounds on her back. Everything ached. Her heart, her head, her flesh, her stomach all inflamed. Unheard beneath the roars of battle, Lorelei moaned.
She wanted to lie on the ground until she died, wanted to feel her life fade into peaceful oblivion, yet something forced her to rise. Her mind screamed at her, Get up! Get up now! Blood went rushing to her head as she tried to stand. At first she toddled back and fourth like a cub, barely able to hold her balance. The sounds of battle were distant echos in her mind. Soro and Caellgah were blurry shadows, one red and one black, shifting through her vision like fish beneath a rippling lake.
What's going on? she wondered. Only as her eyes came back into focus did she begin to realize what was going on.

Soro wasn’t new to fighting, and he wasn’t as pampered as the lionesses who had spent their lives drinking fresh, available water and basking in the sun when it was convenient and resting in the ample shade when they felt hot. To him, the females here were soft, but that made no different. As much as Cael hated males, Soro had a deep hatred for females. However, his hatred also came in other creatures touching his property, trophies that he claimed as his own. It was one thing to touch his things, but for a female to touch his things, that pissed him off!
“TRY IT!” Soro roared back, red eyes wild as he leaped up to meet her. She went for his throat, but unlike a female, he turned to expose his mane and let her bite into it. She could chew the hair and tear it off, but he came to her to bite her own neck. This resulted in a turning dance, each of them trying to get at the other. Soro wasn’t thinking of taking this female as another pride. If he would, he would try crippling her and dragging her back to his den where she could rot in his company, but she had crossed the line in attacking Lore.
He swiped and tore at all that was vital and available.

Caellagh twisted away the moment she spied mane. Hair was useless. But there were other places to strike, and the lioness ignored Soro's biting and clawing to aim to cripple, to maim, to ensure he bled for his crimes against her people. She wasn't the strongest or fastest, just incredibly bitchy and cheap. She tore her hind claws for his hind legs, her fore claws for his chest, face, anything in reach. She issued a roar of fury, of hatred.
Caellagh had always hated males since she could understand words. Hippolyta and Kiuma's lessons for cubs never went unheeded, the miserable tales of male abuse never went unheard. Caellagh had soaked it up like a sponge, and she'd sworn by the divine, whomever it was, whom left her the ethereal feather she wore, just as Huong wore one, that she would ensure any male in her presence would pay for their crimes against females in blood. This male was no different, however his sin was additional.
It was his band who killed Kiuma. His band whom drove her mother and sister away. His band whom stole her home. And it was his band killing the ones she loved.
Thus, she swore to herself any usurper she caught would die... Or she would fall trying. It was a swipe to the belly that finally knocked the female down to the ground. She snarled, hissed, and squirmed, but clearly it was making it worse. Her mind raced. Was this the end?
No.
A small albino hare hopped near the female, the small white bun looking up at Soro in disgust before jumping on Caellagh, using itself to shield her vital organs. It didn't say anything, merely watched, but it wasn't more than a minute before something in the bushes moved.
Something large. Caellagh groaned, flashing in and out of conciousness. She was bleeding, and her wounds catching up. Now there was a rabbit on her. Bloody brilliant.
The giant's shadow couldn't be missed as a distinctly male figure leapt from the brush at Soro. A grey and blue giant with golden, whiteless, pupilless glowing eyes. He hid his wings well, but Primitus was grateful Miira had told him her vision.
The God-male was livid at the assault on his protected child. He was not her father, but bound by oath to her protection. To the litter's protection. And he was protective of those he chose. Especially with Kimiko so near. Primitus attacked viciously, the wisdom of centuries of battle guiding and pushing him.
"Step away from this one if you value your life." Primitus warned, snarling. "Or do you wish to risk the ire of the gods?!"
It was probably best Caellagh had passed out by now, or else she'd have flown off the handle Further.

The horrendous visage startled Lorelei back to full consciousness. This male was a giant, more than double the size of an ordinary lion. Through the chaos she caught a glimpse of his pale white eyes, pupils and apparently blind, at least as far as she knew. A god? No, the thought never entered her mind. Lorelei was an atheist and an apatheist. She spent more time pondering which herbs worked best at culling infection than the merits of god worship; in short, she could not care less about gods. Primitus might as well have been a rhino.
Survival instinct took over. Forgetting the pain in her back, Lorelei tried to slink away as quickly as possible without attracting the large male’s attention, either Primitus or Soro. The large male roared something but all that Lorelei heard was a wrathful and bloodthirsty bellow.

Soro was a male who believed in very little. He didn’t trust females from a long and terrible incident in his past, one which he continued to reign vengeance on any women he crossed. His attacks were as heated and as personal as he could deliver and the pair wraps, turned, hit, and turned at every free limb regardless of the amount of damage. The main goal was damage. PERIOD. He bite, chews, tore, and she returned with the same aggression.
He would not allow a lioness to hurt his trophy, his prize, his reward for taking over this pride with the others. He was not of the higher ranks, but he deserved as much. Lore was his and would not be tainted by another male or a lioness for that matter. If someone broke his things, he would break them!
There was nothing in the world that could make him think otherwise, which seemed to be just the right train of thought.
The larger lion caused Soro to rear back, and he was about to tear at this new foe when he heard the booming proclamation. A god, HERE!
Soro believed in other sources of powers outside of the mortal realm. He believed it was the gods of scorpions, of the desert, and of Fate that saved him from his near death when he was a cub. To have one appear caused him to step back and clear space, his ears back and his eyes wide. Of course, the god was male, which made sense. What didn’t make sense was that she was protecting a female.
He was in conflict. He respected gods, but for one to protect a female was confusing. His eyes turned to the female, but he looked back to the god, unable to tear his eyes away long. If the gods intervened in his life, it just meant more to Soro that gods were watching him. If they told him to not touch a female, there had to be a reason.
Growling, he tried to quite himself and stepped back, before lowering his head. He created a respectable bow to the god, and looked back to see Lore was moving away. Good. She would be safe. Eyes back, he looked up at the god, not removing himself from the bow. He attacked the girl, but she deserved it for attacking his chosen mate. “I would never.” He responded back, showing he would never at any point anger a god. They gave him life. He was in no way able to go against it. His eyes did trail on the female, wondering why a god would protect her. It deeply confused and upset him, but he felt a bit of victory in seeing she was as torn and bleeding as he was. His entire body felt hot with pain and blood.

I was here... "Then you will leave those in my charge alone."
The golden eyed god seemed to note he was sensed, and his wings unfurled from hiding. He made no move after Lore, and had no interest in harming her. Primitus remained over Caellagh defensively. His stance remained firm, and he was unafraid of lunging if need be. For now, Caellagh had to live. But soon, he was to take her to her mother.
Once he saved the girl, that was. And you were, too...

His charge? To think a god would waste his time on a female, but it was not in his divine sight to make judgments in the presence of immortal. Lingering, he looked at the pair, dedicating them to memory. It would seem if the female came again, he would have to let her be, but if she intervened, he doubted a god who protected females was any god of his. Right now, he was in no condition to be going after both, and Lore had already slunk away. That coward. Off to run to protect her own hide. Just like ANY woman he ever met. Selfish and uncaring to those who walked alongside them.
Giving a nod, he turned, not with his tail between his legs, but eased as he walked away and into the river to leave them be. Soro had other matters to attend to, all of which involved punishing Lore.

Primitus' fangs bared a bit as the male departed. He didn't like that one-- he could tell if he had a pride to actually care for, it would die out rapidly, and the god had little interest in those sorts. Instead, he lifted Caellagh on his back, and turned, stalking away.
He hoped this was the last he would see of the male...
