He didn't have enough time to 'collect' himself from his kick and avoid the attack at the same time. It did catch him off guard but still he stayed on his hooves. His wings spread out to keep himself from falling over, aiding him. While he was 'off' balance his muscular tail came around whipping in her direction

Keela hissed as his whip-like tail struck one of her wings. "You're a persistent little bugger, aren't you?" the mare remarked, raising up on her hind legs to strike at him with her talons once more. Seemed to have worked pretty well the first time after all.

Zephar gave a low growl as he dodged but not quick enough one of her talons had ripped right through one of his out stretched wings. He backed up a bit still growling pulling his wings tightly against his back. He then charged aiming to body slam her into the tree right behind her.

Oh sh- It seemed that either her opponent had gained speed since the beginning or that she was losing it, for the mare found herself unable to dodge the body slam. Losing her patience with the irritating little stallion that had disturbed her meal, she aimed another fierce peck at his head. Only this time, she was aiming for the face.

A hiss escaped him. Was all she knew how to do was peck? Scowling to himself his frustration began to build. The face again...When will she learn not to go for the face. Another low growl escaped him as he aimed to bite her. It was his turn to show her how to properly use teeth.

Keela let out a cry that sounded only reminiscent of a squawk when the stallion sank his teeth into her flesh. She was bleeding now, and what was worse was the fact that she could feel herself beginning to reach her end. After all, she had just finished fighting with her prey not long before this irksome dragon male decided that he wanted to take it from her. Eyes narrowing dangerously, she stabbed at the male with her horn once more.

A small squeak like cry escaped him as her horn rammed into him. He backed off panting a bit. He hurt all over, still he wasn't going to go down without a fight for it, after all giving up wasn't an option for him. His tail flicking behind him he bared his teeth at her. With his last attack him charged at her his head down to headbutt her.

On the bright side, it seemed that her horn had done some very good damage. On the not so bright side, the mare was still awfully close to the tree that she had been smacked into earlier and now lacked the energy to effectively dodge. Thus there was another painful sandwich created. "Argh! Get off of me!" she shouted in aggravation, slamming her body into him in the attempt to move the male away and free herself. "You won't win this!"

As he was slammed into he staggered backwards. He was panting, obviously out of breath. "Good show madam, the fight is yours." he spoke through his hard breathing. He disliked giving up but going further would be suicide. "I haven't had that much fun in a long while," His tail gave a small enthusiastic flick behind him.

Keela was very much relieved once the dragon stallion had thrown in the fight. She paused a moment to lick at her bite wound, also finding herself to be quite out of breath. "Yes, well, you weren't so bad yourself," she murmured reluctantly, making her way back over to the wolf corpse. Without a word the mare torn off a large chunk of flesh with her beak and tossed it the other's way. "Here. You'll be needing the energy."

Zephar glanced back at his wings stretching them a bit. The wounds from her talons were already caked with blood, even so they still stung a bit. Flying would be not an option for a while. When the chunk of flesh was tossed his way he murmured a small 'Thanks' before tearing into it. "So," He started out his mouth half full with the flesh of the animal. "Where did you learn to fight like that?" He had not met another like her so she intrigued him to no end, plus she was the first female ever to beat him in a fight. She was strong he had to give her that. Maybe she would be willing to help him out in his goal at world domination. He would need a strong mare at his side.

Had it been possible the mare would have smirked at his question; but alas, her beak rendered such an action impossible. Instead her eyes gained a pleased gleam as she answered. "Self-taught. Like I said before, I like to fight with my prey. Couldn't very well still be here now if I lost very often. You're fortunate that I started off somewhat tired." She stopped talking for a moment to tear out another piece of muscle from the corpse, easily swallowing it down. As she swallowed however she happened to catch a glimpse of Zephar's torn wing. "Sorry about the wing there. Was aiming more for you back." It was always irritating when one was forced not to fly for a while.

"I like toying with my prey," He replied after swallowing the piece in his mouth. "Really. I don't see my self as fortunate at all, I would like to fight you again, when you are at full strength." He paused thinking for a bit. "I do not think I have introduced myself. I am Zephar,"

"Keela," she answered back with a dark chuckle. "So today's butt-whooping wasn't enough for you, eh? Well, if I'm feeling benevolent enough then I might grant you another spar in the future." As she said this the mare ripped off another chunk of flesh with her talons and tossed it Zephar's way. "No promises though." The little red stallion certainly had some spunk to him. Or perhaps it was simply brain damage from when she pecked him. Anything was possible. Still, he was at least somewhat amusing to be around.

"If you might grant me," Zephar began a small sly smile appearing on his face. "Then I might just have to force you into battling me again," He tore his way into the new piece of the flesh, placing a black hoof on it to hold it steady to the ground as he tore from it.
