Ok, so alternate reality/timeline for Blackthorn [UNDER CONSTRUCTION]
Date Unknown: Lycans first appear on Earth.
approx. 2300 BC: Ancient Egyptians record histories about "dog-headed men". Believing these men to be the spawn of the darkness, they begin worshipping the god Anubis, and put the "dog-heads" in charge of humans' departure to the afterlife.. Writings of him appear in the pyramid texts. Over the next several centuries, Egyptians attempt to control this power, but do not let "dog-heads" serve in high office, fearing their power.
Date Unknown: Werewolves appear in Norse writings. The Norse also give one of their gods lycanesque powers: Loki. His son, Fenrir, is said to bring about the end of the world and the rebirth of Yggdrasil.

:An ancient Greek man by the name of Lycaon, a ruler of Arcadia, is recorded as being a werewolf, reportedly turned into one by Zeus after serving the god a meal of dismembered child. He fathered 50 sons, and the werewolf gene was passed on.
:Ancient Greeks celebrate Lykaia, a nocturnal festival at the foot of Mount Lykaion, in which adolescent males were provoked to attain their first change. Apollo is worshiped by Lycans of the festival as a patron god.

:The Roman conquest of Greece begins, as lycans on both sides become embroiled in civil war.
The Roman Empire extends into Egypt, where Archaic Lycans still made their home. The civil war continues, and hundreds of thousands of humans and lycans are destroyed.
