Suijin was startled by Kagami's voice. It had been so long since he had heard that voice, especially in that tone. It was one of such devotion while being filled pain and fear. His head snapped over to glance at her before realizing the opportunity it created for him to hurt Sanuye. He grinned curving his neck back to sink his teeth into her flesh again.
--
"Sanuye! Look out!' She cried a part of her wanting to lunge into the fray and stopping him. "Suijin stop! Stop!" She shook her head. Why. Why did he continue to do this? To torment her? Hadn't he seen how much he had torn her apart and how she had barely been able to piece herself back together. If anything...anything happened to Sanuye. She wouldn't stand for it. She would make Suijin pay at any cost.
--
"Is my little kitten scared for her friend?" Suijin sneered just before he opened his mouth and brought his teeth down.
There was so much happening at once. Logic evaded her. All Sanuye had was instinct, and she responded to everything that was happening around her with the speed and grace of a woman who'd dedicated her entire life to becoming a warrior. She registered Kagami's warning, heard Suijin's irritating sneer and then reacted-
--but, instead of ducking out of the way, she took this opportunity to launch herself at him once more. A blinding flurry of muscle, claws and sharp teeth; Sanuye unleashed a ferocious snarl and pounced right into his attack; attempting to slam the top of her skull into the bottom of his jaw, and use the rest of her weight to bowl him over.
She poured herself into the attack; fierce, unstoppable, unafraid.

Suijin barely managed to avoid having his jaw crushed catching on to what the red female was about to do. Unfortunately, for him, he wasn't able to completely evade her and it resulted in her head slamming onto the side of his face and him recoiling backwards. She was quick and quickly toppled him over.
He was on his feet once again in a flash, he was dazed but not so much that he couldn't function. This was a losing battle and he had already suffered so much damage and as much as it wounded his pride to admit it, he had to retreat.
He lost.
"You win this time b***h but I promise you that it isn't over," he snarled stepping backwards. "Next time...you won't be so lucky," he growled starting to slipping into the shadows.
He would be back and oh he could already taste his revenge. It would be so sweet.
--
Kagami's breath caught in her throat as Sanuye managed to avoid his death blow and deliver some heavy damage of her own. And as he admitted that he lost(something she couldn't believe, he had never lost before. Never.) and shrunk back into the shadows she felt her jaw drop. Unbelievable.
Her emerald eyes turned to Sanuye and she felt relief flood through her body. She was okay. She was okay! "Thank god," she whispered hurrying over to the other female's side.

If she'd had a middle name, it would have been aggression. Sanuye was a veritable fireball of passion and uncontrollable rage. When her last attack proved true and the pathetic excuse for a male fell under her power, she did not stop moving. Snarling, crimson blood oozing from her shoulder, the lady warrior followed him as he retreated. Her chest heaved with the labour of her breathing, and the halfness of her victory.
It was good that he'd given up and left. If he hadn't, she would have killed him. She felt it in her bones.
The soft sounds of Kagami's hurried paws beating against the jungle floor made Sanuye turn. When the other female spoke it was the lady warrior's turn to forget she had a voice. For a moment, Sanuye could only blink, in stunned silent, at Kagami. Then, she smiled.
"I can't believe you were worried." There was a teasing, playful lilt to her voice. Her heart soared. She wasn't sure why Kagami had finally decided to speak, but trusted that the other female would explain everything once she was ready.

"Dummy," she playful teased placing one of her paws over the Sanuye's. Of course she had been worried, Suijin was a sadistic creature, causing other's torment and pain was his specialty and when he wanted something, well there was nothing that could stop him. And the fact that the red female before had stopped him, well it baffled her. "Of course I was worried," she mumbled casting her gaze to the ground in embarrassment.
This whole thing was still weird for her, she wasn't sure she would ever open herself back up to someone after what that pale-faced male had put her through. But from the very beginning she had found herself attracted to, drawn to the other female.
"Because if anything..." she shook her head. It was strange to hear her own voice once again. She hadn't spoken in so long that she had often worried that her voice would be gone. "I couldn't lose you," she admitted looking up.

For Sanuye, there had never been any question about who would win. She was like a mountain; solid and strong and unmovable. It was not that she was brave. Indeed, there was nothing courageous about her. Courage was for people who experienced fear and needed to conquer it, and Sanuye had no terror of battle or of bloodshed.
When Kagami spoke again, the sweetness of her words made butterflies erupt in Sanuye's belly. She didn't understand what it was that she felt for the other lady, but it meant to much to her to inquire. It was simpler just to leave it, and let it runs its natural course. Whatever it was. Questions just caused problems.
"You won't lose me," Sanuye grinned and nuzzled Kagami's chin gently with the top of her head, "I will win again. Its what I do."

She found herself smiling at the others reply. She was so sure of herself and honestly, she envied that about the red female. She sighed, "I can't go through it again." She shook her head. She wasn't willing to go through the pain again. She wasn't sure she'd be able to take it. "I know...but..." she closed her eyes, why was it so difficult to find the words now that she decided to speak? Before she always just struggled with conveying her words to the other.
She exhaled deeply letting her mind clear with her breath. She pressed her cheek against Sanuye's. "I love you," she whispered more to herself than to her companion. She just wanted to finally say the words again. She knew that the red lady would never hurt her, not if she could help it. And she was relieved.

They were three simple little words; sometimes incredibly difficult, and even painful, to whisper; occasionally given away thoughtlessly and just as easily tossed to the side. Only a moment ago, Sanuye hadn't imagine there could have been anything that felt better than sinking her teeth into the flesh of an enemy, but now she knew that she'd been wrong. Hearing Kagami share so much was entirely profound and powerful in itself and, while Sanuye was generally pretty stupid, the importance of this event was not lost on her.
"I love you too," she responded simply, "I am glad that you are here with me, and I will look after you."
Sanuye would do anything for Kagami.
