"That... that is how insects eat, isn't it?" Elizabeth groaned. "Damn it all." She sat on the ground. "That's just... ugh."

Jesse stood the sidelines, watching and waiting as always. Indeed it seemed that the weather was whacked out and cold for this time of year, but this was something he should have known better than to expect. Especially when told that they were meeting with supposed allies.
He didn't pace around like some of the others. He just stayed quiet for the most part. His eyes flicked back and forth over the group, keeping constant count of them all, just in case someone decided to be cute and try and nab one of them for all intent purposes of starting a conflict of their own.
Regardless of how all of this was to play out, he knew that he had to be on his guard, just like everyone else.
He could hear the thief cursing, and could see him getting more and more agitated as time went on. Something was indeed a miss, but what? Could they really be planning an attempt on their lives? Was this suddenly going to be a problem for everyone? He didn't know, but his senses went on high, ready to warn all of them of anything happening if it ever presented itself a problematic state.

Jon looked at all of them gathered in the cabin, throwing on fur coats and talking about communication. His mind had created a scenario where they knew exactly where to go, and multiple methods of attack already.
When they made mention that the blizzard was in fact Sigil-created, a thought occurred.
"If the snowstorm is Sigil forged, and we are able to see the aura, is it not possible to simply exude a pure aura upwards when we need to 'signal' for each other? This would solve our communications problem, I would expect. As far as their numbers go, I should think that it changes little, our primary objective is still to apprehend this 'Thief' and secure all of the mutants that have sided with him. With a well-executed pincer attack on their location, which I believe we can also use the same method of viewing the origin of the auras, we should be able to intercept and overtake them."
A sound strategy, though he was uncertain how many details the Adams and agents had left out, which thoroughly frustrated him as he awaited their thoughts.

"Changes little?" Agent M mimicked. "They're not just a bunch of mutations, as you seem to think. If the work they had done to them is unraveling, failures or not, the virus will be doing everything for them. The last thing we need to deal with is a bunch of weak failures powered by a virus they can't even control...."

"No, we can't use Sigil aura to make this visible. The snowstorm was probably engineered to prevent us from seeing. Notice how the aura interferes with your viewing of other auras," Lionel pointed out. They hadn't noticed, but it was true. Even now it was harder than normal to see Lionel's aura, or even the Agent's auras. That explained the snowstorm.
"Pincer attack is of course a good idea. Radios should work, if we do have any. I didn't bother picking any up," Lizzie commented. "Worst comes to worst, we have whoever can do it detonate something nearby. Just assign a single Adam-team member to each of the groups and the rest of us will operate independently. We can all create explosions loud enough to be heard. Let's get moving then, shall we?"

Agent A raised his eyebrow at Jon's words, but said nothing. If that man truly feels that the Hosts don't really make a difference, then he's going to be eaten. Failures or no, they were still powerful in their own right. It was better not to underestimate the enemy.

Jon nodded in acceptance of the Adam-Team member and walked towards the door, putting his hand on the handle.
"Shall we venture onwards then, into the frozen depths of madness?"

"Do you ignore anyone who points out you've said something stupid?" Agent M asked Joneleth, pointing out his utter refusal to acknowledge M's warning about the Hosts.

Joneleth glared at the agent with a sharp enough look that could have pierced ice.
"Look, I was merely agreeing with our mutual friend here that we should get moving already. I'll grant these mutants are more serious of a threat than the way I chose to express, however with the appropriate strategy, it is only a matter of execution. If you prefer to simply blather on for the entirety of this mission without using any of that mass in your head called a brain for the tactics of our attack, then I am certainly glad we are not paired together."
Jon tightened his coat and coldly turned to the rest of the group.
"Lead on, commanders. I will follow your orders as needed."

The two men were holding a pissing match, which made A want to roll his eyes. "M, don't start a fight. We don't have the time for it." Honestly, the man was hard to get along with - on a good day, he was an arrogant b*****d. On a bad day, he was an egotistical arrogant b*****d. But far be it for him to start a useless fight - M hadn't done anything truly irritating to A, so there was no real reason for him to personally hate the agent.
Adela had no such inclination and did roll her eyes at the sight. "So M...perhaps you could tell us a bit about yourself? Or like any weaknesses that these...Hosts might have?"

Agent M smirked. "They are weakness. They're a collection of failures, incompetents, and weaklings. Unlike us, they do not control the virus; the virus controls them. That's why we have the edge, but it's also why they're still dangerous." He smirked. "They're on the wrong side of this fight because they're failures, but the virus is dangerous, even with creatures like them holding it back."

Adela blinked, not really knowing what to say to that. "That doesn't really help with the fighting." What she wanted was to know how to knock them out without having to hurt them too badly. Instead, she got a closer look at the guy's mentality.

"Sure it does. They'll rely not on finesse, but animal aggression, because that's all they truly have," Agent M replied, looking down his nose at Adela. "They'll rely on their viral powers as a crutch; they'll depend on them because it's the virus doing the fighting, not the human it controls."

Adela chose to keep quiet at that. She knew very little about this virus so she couldn't really make any arguments about it. Also, they were on the same team - it wouldn't do to make each other mad. "Mind if I ask what made them failures and you not?" Hopefully she'd get something more than the 'I'm Better and They're Not' argument.

Agent M shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe it was a physical thing, maybe it was a mental thing. But something made them fail where we didn't, and that's what really matters in the end, I suppose."
