Since I enjoy rock music, I'm a pretty big fan of bands such as Skillet, The Fray, Switchfoot, dc talk, Thousand Foot Crutch, Jars of Clay, and Third Day. Other than that, I enjoy Petra, Jeremy Camp, Tenth Avenue North, and Mat Neely.

I prefer the really old hymns... ^^;; I grew up in a mostly Pentecostal environment and have a soft spot for those old hymns that were often sung there... "What a friend we have in Jesus," "The old rugged cross," "Sweet bye and bye," etc... Just reminds me of simpler times... @_@ Oh dear... I sound like I'm 50 heh XD

Dragonbait Takahashi_Natsumi Dragonbait Even though they're long disbanded, I'll forever have a soft spot for Petra (whom I've quoted in this guild more than once). Michael W. Smith and Carman were pretty good as well. But I don't listen to much Christian music these days ... I don't listen to much of any music these days. As for "worship songs", well ... to me, nearly any Christian song could qualify. lol Carman? How old are you? 30? You like that really old-school stuff. stare I claim the same age as Jack Benny ... and if anybody here can get that joke without going to Wikipedia, I'll be impressed. <- had to go to wikipedia I quite enjoy waking up to some Supertones personally... though I think I've said that before... >_>

sub-zero120 Red and skillet ummm decyfer down demon hunter thousand foot krutch family force 5 My friend just recently got me into Red and Skillet. I love them! I also was just recently introduced to Fireflight. Flyleaf is okay, too, but I'm not convinced that it's a Christian band.

I assume most of you have never heard of Jimmy Needham? I think he might be more locally popular (esp. since he graduated from the college I currently go to).

Oh my! I'm sitting here looking at these music lists and I am thinking....maybe I am too old to be here. I used to take youth groups (and my kids) to hear Petra and Carman. Once experienced a massive move of the Holy Spirit at a Carman concert once that its almost laughable now (no disrespect meant). I had this group of like 15 kids with me and one other adult. All the kids and the adult just started crying and carrying on because they had been so convicted. An usher sent paramedics up to us LOL.
My favorite all time song is "How Great Thou Art" but that is about the only "old time" song I like. I feel like most of those songs are about Him and what we can get and not sung to Him. I like worship songs (mostly Integrity music) where your singing TO God and not about Him, though I suppose there is a place for both.

Or maybe I should break out my "Petra Praise: The Rock Cries Out"?
