"Sounds nice," he said soothingly with a slightly rumbly undertone - almost like a purr. The cub already had such a sad life. He pondered if he should tell his own story in return.
"I'll tell you a story in return." He gave a nod and a small pause. "Long ago," he started. He really wasn't that odl though, but it just felt so long ago. "A litter of seven was born into a pride far from here. The lands were covered in amazing trees and the earth was no earth at all. It was in fact a thick layer of water," he looked down to the cub at his side.
"On of the cubs, named after the sky he could not see grew up with no friends, only playing with the siblings he loved dearly. You see, he had no father. His father left without saying a word before the cubs were born.
"It was no touble to his sky-named cub though. He grew quickly, shying away from other members, but dearly loving his home. When he came into maturity, he set out for his true name, for the sky was not his name."

Mashaka listened carefully to Wingu's story, it was interesting to think of a place that was so wet and earthy. He however was confued by the idea that one would have two different names, he had never heard of that before, why would someone need two names. "Two names... why?" he asked finally as he knew there would be no way for him to figure it out on his own. "When does he get to go home?" he asked... now that Mashaka felt he was heading towards a home he was much mor einterested in others homes.
"You see, the second name will be his true name. His true, or adult, name will define him." He answered. "He will get to go home when he finds his name - his name will come from deep within his soul, and he must travel so his soul tells him his new name. Only then can he return home to his family."
Mashaka was still confused by this whole name thing, but he didn't have any time to ask more question because just as he opened his mouth to ask them he heard russling from the other side of the tree line, then shortly after he heard his mother calling his name. He looked to Wingu "I am sorry but I must go now.. my family is travelling and well it sounds that they are awake now. It was very nice to meet you." he smiled at Wingu before turning quickly and darting towards the trees, he hoped he hadn't worried his mother. For once he actually cared about the feeling he invoked in others by wondering away... it was strange really.
Wingu dipped is head and watched the cub leave. "Have a nice trip, Mashaka," he gave a small rumbling smile and pushed himself back up. He had to travel his own trip and find his adult name after all. He sighed, walking off longing for home.
