If anyone was going to respond to a polite apology and handshake, after insults and physical violence, it was Kesslan. After a pause, during which she and Rawni stared at each other, she nodded slightly, her own calloused hand squeezing firmly as they shook.

"I accept. I will inform the Candidatemaster, so that he knows you're conducting chores under the service of K'lan and Green Condoroth." It was clear in the way that Avery instantly relaxed, an slight smile touching her full mouth at Rawni's look, that the situation had quickly de-escalated. On their end, anyway.

As for Uuni? Well, it was clear that she was upset with everyone involved. Avery had to wonder what the repercussions of that would be, after their last private interaction, the curly-haired young woman was no longer sure of what was going on between them.

As Kess sat down at the table again, obviously falling quiet to calm herself, the brunette continued their previous conversation. "I'll be back in a sevenday. There's going to be a large gather of beastcrafters, which means purchases and bets will be made. Daddy wants my assistance."

Uuni expected her end of the apology to be stated in a bitter manner. It was the typical way to adress her, after all.

She did not, however, expect everyone to sit down and keep going as though nothing had happened at all after Rawni put herself in servitude.

And after Kess, of all people, had completely disregarded her and seemed intent on bashing Rawni's face into the rocks moments before. All until one little apology.

It was like being hit by a runby, twice.

For a while after Avery had begun talking, Uuni stared at the top of Kesslan's head.

There was a choice to make. Uuni drifted back towards the table, ready to sit down and pretend nothing had happened, but the soreness in her jaw reminded her that she had an excuse.

"I'm going to go get some ice," she murmured to the rest of them. Her hands were shaking a bit as she left.

This was the second time Kesslan had not listened to her reasoning, and this time had the potential to have been worse. What would happen the third?

Rawni was pleased that Kess accepted her apology and apparently moved past whatever reminents of their previous negative emotions had been left between them. And really, if she could spend some time with Condoroth and study her up close in a way she hadn't been able to do so with other dragonets, it would sate some of the keen interest she had been dying to satisfy.

Uuni's unfortunate reaction left Rawni feeling guilty, but also curious as to what state her relationship was with both Kess and Avery. Either way, Uuni was a very confusing female who sent out entirely too many messages. Letting her drift away and into the background of her mind, Rawni turned to Avery and nodded at that statement.

Eyes clearly dropped down and concentrating on her drink, she quietly murmured her acknowledgement of the upcoming trip and weakly, hardly audibly, asked if there was anything that she needed to be done, in regards to her betting pools, that Rawni herself could handle while she was away.

Was it getting a little hot in here, or was the girl simply blushing? If not, she sure looked a little uncomfortable, squirming, with the offer she had just made.

Another hard swallow on Kesslan's part and she stood up while Rawni and Avery began speaking. Her own empty glass in hand, she followed after Uuni, her long strides quickly overtaking the older girl's. She was quiet for a moment or two, before she spoke, her soft, husky voice almost hesitant.

"... Uuni." She reached out, fingertips brushing the other girl's wrist. "I'm sorry. I was listening to what you said. Are you alright?"

Avery glanced up briefly as the other two girls left, before shaking her head at Rawni. Truth be told, she wasn't nearly as quick to forgive as her blonde ex, and held grudges and judgements for a long time. Rawni, however, had causes previous offenses, and Avery's plans for the girl were longterm.

A hand casually patted the younger Candidate's thigh as she spoke, tone friendly. "Oh, no, I've decided to shut my own tables down. It'll simply make them more crowded when I return with the latest runner information."

Taking a slow sip of her drink, she laughed. "Don't replace me while I'm gone, mmn?" As a roommate, she meant.

Uuni really did not think she was getting the ice. Not every rider had time to go between, and certainly not every day of the week. Then, she had to assume that she could find a kitchen staff who was far enough behind on gossip to have not thought Uuni deserved getting cracked across the face.

No, she was fairly sure that ice was not what she was getting. Which is exactly why it made a very good excuse. She could waste as much time as she wanted with the task.

Eyes already highset, Uuni only had to glance over at Kesslan when she felt the touch on her wrist. The fingers of her opposing hand curled for just a moment where they rested against her slowly bruising flesh.

"Listening, maybe, but not responding." Her voice was short as was her eye contact. She took a sharp turn to the right and peered into the kitchens. This was a hopeless cause.

She grinned a bit and then winced. "I'm fine, Kess. This is nothing."

"That's true, I've never been very good at that," Kess allowed, stopping herself from maintaining a physical contact that Uuni may not have wanted. The blonde instead gestured away from the kitchens, toward the weyrling quarters.

"Let me help you." It wouldn't be much of a problem for K'lan to get some ice. She was well-liked among rider's in general, and well, she could probably get a flitt to do it, as well.

"You're bruising," A furrow of the brow showed her displeasure.

"I appreciate it, Kess, you wanting to stick up for me, you know," Uuni answered as she swept her gaze around the room.

"Huh?" Careful concentration interrupted, she looked towards Kesslan and shrugged. "Generally what happens when you get hit hard, Kess." She winked at the girl and straightened up, ready to walk in to introduce herself to one of the staff.

"Where was I?" she asked to the air. A few moments later, balancing out the two things on her mind, she came across it. "Right. Well, I appreciate it, but, I wasn't actually in any danger. Save your daring romanticism for when some guy is trying to have their way with me, or if I've got a knife held to my throat. Sound good to you?"

Rawni wasn't sure what to make of the new interaction, to be honest. She tried to spend the least amount of time possible in the presence of Avery, simply because she didn't want to get caught watching her dress and undress, or looking improperly at the older girl. The touching and the casual conversation was both appreciated, but also made her exceptionally nervous.

Clearly, this was all related to Uuni's inability to keep her thoughts to herself, the airheaded brunette. Now that Avery was made aware of some sort of curiousity on Rawni's part, every interaction was going to be part of some game that Rawni wasn't sure she wanted to be a part of.

"Oh. I would never do such a horrible, despicable thing to you, Avery." Rolling her eyes and keeping with her usual sarcasm, Rawni left her responding comment as vague as Avery's had been. Even though her eyes were clearly flashing with some sort of amusement and interest, she hoped it was either ignored or misinterpreted.

"Sounds good. Next time, I promise." A sigh and Kess shook her head at Uuni's avoidance of anything and everything. Trailing her throughout the halls as she looked everywhere but at the blonde [for more than a second anyway], she finally spoke again, voice rueful.

"Will you at least let me get you some ice before you come up with some excuse to ditch me?"

----

"Fabulous." Avery stood, finishing her glass in a long, slow swallow. Her hazel eyes briefly scanned the room, and she looked back down at Rawni. "I've a few things to do before I go, and a goodbye to say to Kessy. Take care, and don't ruin our room, mmmn?"

A wiggle of the fingers and the brassy young woman was heading for one of the dining hall's exits.

Uuni paused, finally looking back towards Kesslan with her brows furrowed. The girl was acting like she was the victim here!

If Uuni had a list for the amount of people that had attempted to win her over that way. . . well, she'd be too poor to buy the ink write it because of all the paper she'd need to buy.

"Okay, Kess. You can get me some ice." A smile perked at the edge of her lips. Ever-persistent Kess.

She couldn't complain. What other type of person would be willing to deal with her?

"Wait right here," The blonde's face immediately lit up, as if reassured that Uuni at least liked her a wee bit, and she held up a hand, as if to re-enforce her statement.

Disappearing around a corner and down a hallway, it didn't take her long to find a rider willing to take a quick trip to the northern territories. A short while after that, maybe a candlemark, and the blonde was back with the ice, brow furrowed as she looked around for her friend.

"... Uuni?" Catching sight, she gave a slightly out-of-breath grin. "I've got to get back to lessons, but... Here."

Uuni watched Kess light up as through a match suddenly struck, and was yet again amazed by the ease of emotional change between these three girls.

Doing as she was instructed, Uuni leaned against the rockbase that was behind her and waited. There were all sorts of things to look at, but it was only her memories that kept her mind.

She'd stood close to here before, oddly enough. She remembered how her lover had gone off to ask some of the kitchen staff for berries. Miraculously, she'd actually come back with them. The girl had been liked in a way Uuni couldn't imagine. In fact, it wasn't unlike Kesslan now.

Only, she was waiting for ice instead of berries, and it wasn't after meal time, and she probably wouldn't be going back to Kess's room to. . .

Although her name was called, Uuni was wondering how Kesslan had managed to get ice that quickly. There were things Uuni could get if she wanted, and there were bound to be a few favours she was owed, but here was Kesslan, ice in hand as though it had been the easiest thing in the world.

Okay, maybe not so easy. The girl was panting like an overheated canine. "Thanks, Kess." She took the ice and moved it up to her jaw. "Good luck in lessons." Not that someone like Kess needed luck. There were some people in life that could do things with skill; someday, maybe, Uuni would get to figure out what that was like. In the mean time, luck, or lack thereof, suited her just fine.
