He paused in mid step and slowly placed down the paw he had already lifted before she had began her onslaught of reasoning in response to his muttered comment. He was striking a nerve there every time and he knew then that the female was aware she had flaws, flaws she needed to master and solve.
He stood still, with his back to her as she finished. He did not yet turn to face her, still not convinced she was worth turning around for, 'The fact that you assume I would want such a female shows your lack of understanding and poor judgement. I do not want a female who gives in to my every whim but I also do not want one who possess so much pride she cannot see that she has a partner and mate who is better than her in some areas and thus should trust him to care for her in regards to such things.' he paused and closed with, 'I would like a mate who understands how a partnership works and how best to utilise it.'
The female had obviously been alone for so long now she had forgot how to interact and work with others, not just as a potential mate but perhaps in a pack setting and format. Haemon did not mind taking the time to heal and repair others but he did not want to take part in a losing battle, was this female worth the effort when others could perhaps make for a better option.

Her jaw clenched for a moment. He was making sense, and that almost irritated her a bit more. She wouldn't admit defeat, but.. she could agree with him, couldn't she? Raeling wasn't stupid enough to fight for something she knew was wrong, after all.
"I know I have things I can't accomplish without the help of a mate," Her nose stuck up a little out of habit, but her eyes still glanced at him. "And when I have a mate, there will be plenty he will be good at that I am not. Like fighting, for example. Physically." She lowered her nose to stare into his furr, her own with that ever dying storm, but it was slightly calmer now.
"I'm not willing to bow down and serve a male as a little b***h." Raelin made that part very clear, but she expanded on it, "But that doesn't mean I won't rely on him, work with him as a partner. That's what I want, a partner, not a master. And you can bet when I find that wolf, I'll be well worth it to him. I will be of value, whether or not you believe that."
It was almost as though she was trying to reassure herself, rather than him. Was it supposed to be this difficult to talk to males? All she wanted was what her parents had before her father left. A partner ship that was strong enough to run a pack when they needed to.

Haemon stood for a moment longer absorbing all her words and the hope they possessed and the promises they held and he smiled, not his normal crocked grin but a genuine warming sort of smile, which almost looked out of place on him and bowed his head and then turned his head, staring over his shoulder at her, his blood red eyes truly taking her in this time.
She was strong, there was no doubt to that, but she was also broken and needed the support to fix herself up, to become something better and the potential was there, he saw it then. Turning his body now as well he strode back down the path towards her, coming closer and closer until he stood, towering over her. He lowered his head and whispered in his ear, 'Let me help you.' He did not pull away from her and he kept his head next to hers, his warm breath tickling the inner hairs of her ear. Now she could either fight him off or accept, but it was going to be his only offer.
He waited.

Her breathing quickened just slightly when she saw the other turn around and approach her. As he got closer, her ears lowered slightly and she listened carefully to the four words he spoke. Her ears were forced to twitch due to his breath on them, but she wasn't going to pull away.
Help her? He wanted.. to help her? Her eyes closed as she slowly forced her head to nod. He knew every weakness of hers, she bet that he knew how to make them better.
It was hard for her to say the words that were about to leave her, but she truely wanted to be better, and if this wolf could make it happen.. "Please, help me.." The words were soft and her eyes were still closed. This wasn't admiting defeat, she told herself, this was finding away to be stronger through help of another. This was admiting weakness with the hope of finding away to remove it, even if it meant depending on another wolf to help her out. Her weaknesses may very well be his strengths. It was time to find out how to reccognize and accept that.
He also knew that she wasn't willing to bow down and kiss at his claws. She hoped that he would work with her as a team once she learned how, and so she opened her eyes and stared at him.
"I want to learn."

So, she had accepted his offer, he wondered then if this would indeed blossom into a partnership, of male and female, she his mate. But it was too soon to fore tell that yet but for now he was simply content with having the female's company. He pulled away from her and looked her straight in the eye. There was yet much to learn of each other and plenty of understanding to be done but first... 'As you wish but firstly.' He lunged at her, baring his teeth and closed his mouth about her throat in the blink of an eye.
Fangs pressed into the vital flesh about her throat threateningly but he simply held them there, one flinch away from the grasp and he'd snap his jaw shut. He wondered what her reaction would be. This was an age old action of trust, the beta male or female usually actioning this out upon first meeting a new pack member, they would hold them in this manner, if the other wolf trusted them they would stand, if not they would try and pull away from their assailant. She needed to trust him before he went any further, total trust was earnt but he needed a degree so she did not challenge him when he asked something of her.

His movement was too fast for her to do anything but stand there. This was not a new idea to Raelin, however, her parents were Alphas who had to test the trust of new members a few times. But this was the first time anyone had tried such on her. Her natural instinct was to rip away and flee, but her mind told her that the male would not work so hard to speak with her, then kill her right away.
He was testing how much she trusted him.
Though there was a slight hint of fear in her eyes, she did what she could to stay totally still, offering her neck and her very life in front of the Shaman that held her throat. In such, she trusted him not to kill her even though it would be so very easy for him to do so.
She did not speak, not wanting the muscles to twitch at all underneathe his grasp. Her ears were slightly low, but not in a threatening way. Instead there was a hint of curiousity. He wanted to make sure that she trusted him, the action showed that much. And her trust would be further proved if she followed him into his territory and be surrounded by pack members that might not be overly accepting of her.

Haemon felt the blood flow in her throat, the pulsating of her main arteries under his fangs, but it was steady and unfaltering. She knew what he desired of her and she responded just as he desired, she was perfect. Holding her a moment longer and then he released her, pulling away and coming up to stand at full height above her. Licking his lips he smiled contently at her, 'Very nice my pretty.'
The next test would not come from him but from his fellow pack mates. He mulled it over and thought it would not be wise to introduce her to the likes of Moghedien, one of the alpha's favourite females, along with Liriel and the Beta female. Perhaps his Brothers/fathers, Geri and Freki, he himself knew them better and how they would react. Perhaps the alpha himself, if he did intend to keep this female with him and help her it would be best the alpha knew the female was to be among the pack for a while, perhaps she'd even stay. Enough thinking he focused back upon the female.
'I have yet to have had the pleasure of knowing your name, as much as 'my pretty' suits you I do not think you like the title.'

When she was let go of, she shook her head a little just to relax the muscles of her neck, glad that the teeth had not clamped down on her vital flesh. When he spoke, a smile tugged onto the corners of her maw before she could stop herself.
"Raelin. You may call me 'my pretty' if I ever come to belong to you." Her words were not hissed or barked, but instead lighter. He was being much more friendly, and so it brought it out of her as well. She was never a -bad- wolf, just overly emotional and broken up. But he would help her, and so she would stay with him.
It would be a lie if she stated that she was not nervous about meeting the pack members. She would have to show respect for an Alpha she did not know, allow the higher up females to say with the wanted without the ability to talk back to them. Still, her heart was set on not letting them truly get the best of her, even if they were allowed to berate her with words.
It would not be an easy path.
"Will I be staying with you?"

Haemon looked the female over and smiled to himself as she introduced herself, so she was considering that she may become his, it was a reason to smile. But before he could return the gesture and introduce himself she asked about where she was to stay. He hadn't thought about that, from the arrangement he had just made with her, he guessed they were already embarking on becoming a pair, yet not really mates, he had agreed to help and thus it was better if she stayed with him.
The scent of Aitou would still be lingering in his den, but then that would only be another trial for her and perhaps not a bad one. Yes, she would have to stay with him from now on. The way she had directly asked him he guessed that she didn't have a pack or 'home' of her own; there was still a lot to learn of each other, but there was time, plenty of time.
Perhaps it was best for her to met the alpha, her fiery temper, he assumed, would not bother the helmed male and it had been a while since they had last met. He decided to let Realin decide, hopefully the gesture of partnership would not escape her. Returning from his thoughts he focused on her, 'Yes you will be, if you have no other arrangements of course. I would recommend meeting the alpha, though if you feel like resting first I will take you to my, our den.' He corrected himself.

As the wolf took time to think, she stayed silent and let him do just that. Her insecurities were tugging at the back of her mind, making her wonder if he was debating if he wanted to help her in the first place. It was amazing how him speaking to her seemed to soothe her insides and make her troubles disappear to the back of her mind once again. It was good that he could do that, though, right? He was going to help her let go.
"Yes.. I would like to stay in our den together."
The mention of her Alpha made her slightly nervous. There were rumors of him floating through the trees. She would have to keep her temper in check, she figured, so that she did not test him at all. Still, if Haemon thought it was a good idea, she would do it. She had to showed that she was going to trust him, right?
"I think it would be best if I met your Alpha now. Though, do you have any advice for me? I've met several Alphas in my time, but each has been different. I don't want to be disrespectful and get either of us into any trouble." He was doing her a favor, the least she could do was make sure he didn't look bad in front of his Alpha.
