i was on shock the other day when talking to one of the adults who supervise the youth group i go to. I go to a youth club held at a church, so the adults who help are rather religious. This man asked if i ever wanted to get married and i explained that i did, then i asked if he was against gay marriage. Me assuming he was going to say he was against it was rather shocked to hear him say he was fine with it. He said gays are still human beings and its just another form love. And that we are evolving. {Wierd way of explaining}
I'm all for gay marriage!

1) 'Cause they don't understand. 2) They think that it's 'unnatural'. 3) Most fear change. Which is a bad thing since everything has changed. e_e 4) And most with like this: " Men + Women = Love forever. " " Same sex + same sex = UNNATURAL. " e_e
Thank goodness there are a lot of open-minded people still. <3

More or less it has all been said. Religion, growing up, enviorment, past experiances, conditioning really. I don't agree with them, but I don't appose their thoughts. Not at all.

I'm not against gay marraige, but last I checked, marraige was something that went on in a church (usually). Or a temple, or a synagouge, or whatever. The point is, the basis of marriage is all about religion, the same religion that says that it is wrong to be gay. So why exactly would you want to be married?
Now, I may be very off in my terminology, but being legally wed to someone sounds more like what we're going for. The right to be officially recognized as the partner of the person you love, regardless of sex, seems to be the ultimate right that you can work towards.
So the churches and unaccepting blockheads can keep their "sacred" marraige, while we get our rights.

Phoenix_666 I just don't get society they accept most thing but not gay marriage it really upsets me but i guess people have their own oppions. "This is quite the subject to debate, but I blame the Republicans. I am a one hundred percent strait man, I was in the U.S. Army, and I STILL think gay marrage should be allowed. Now take for instance, who the President, my former boss, is. A Texas Republican. I'm not saying Texans are bad at all, I'm pointing out that Republicans from Texas tend to be the most close minded towards two men or two women getting married. Also look at how bad the conflict in the Middle East is getting. The President is sending millions of troops over, and has no shame when most come back draped in a flag, but on the flip side, he is appalled when the concept of gay marrage comes about. So it leaves many Americans in limbo about what to think when the leader of the country has no regret killing innocent soldiers, but acts as if the third world war is coming when a gay couple wants to be together and happy. Now don't think I'm some rambling, nut case, Vet. I love my country, it's the President I don't trust. I'm all for gay marrage, everyone has the right to do what they want. The premise of America from it's foundation was, 'Independance from Tyrany.' In my mind that includes a Right-Wing President."

Spoofehness Top Ten reasons why gays shouldn't marry: 1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, liposuction and air conditioning. 2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. 3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets.. because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. 4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal. 5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed. 6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children. 7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children. cool Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America. 9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children. 10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans... hmm, i wonder where you found that razz . 'twas a good post indeed, i must say

Because somewhere on the line they didn't read their Constitution and they think they can force their beliefs onto people. I'm Christian but I know my Constitution and I understand the first amendment and what this country is supposed to be about.

I dont know why people dont like the idea. personally I don't mind. It's their choice and their life, let them be happy and be with the person that they love.
