"Come give a gal a kiss, and you'll find out," The woman said, her tone mocking.

Linc leaned against the cell wall. "She kisses a bloke, and gets in their head. She listens in and can give you fancy suggestions as well. It's like having a wife, nagging over your shoulder every minute of an hour. Depending on the strength of your mind, you can hold off from her commands real well, but some blokes just give in by nature.

Linc's shoulders rose in a shrug, "Of course, it also depends on how long you kissed the gal. Fifteen or twenty minutes, and your mind is hers...until her venom burns out of your system."

"And fancy venom it is. Her kiss is near addictive, sweet even, and every victim tastes a different flavor."

"You were wintermint, weren't you, Linc? Delicate, cold....bland, it fits you." The woman smiled, her lips slightly shiny as if coated in lip gloss.

"Bitchy as always Kat," Linc took his hand from his pocket, this time holding a knife. He flipped the blade open, playing with it a moment, "We could always kill her now, and tell the council she was attempting to escape. It's worked well before." Linc glanced at Adam, his smile darkening further. "What say you, boy, perhaps you'd like to make the killing strike? Have you ever killed a slider before?"

"Talking is no good to us, Mate. The council wants her, and we aren't privy to what information it is they want, or what other reasons they'd be keeping this one alive." Linc flipped his knife closed and pulled it back to his pocket. "You wanna talk with her, that's fine."

Linc gave a slight nod and headed towards the door. He glanced back, a slight smirk on his face. "Don't have too much fun." He then left, his footsteps heard down the hallway in a chipper rhythm.

Kat watched Rook and Adam warily, not sure what was going to happen next.

"I'm chained to a wall, not much I can do to protest." Kat's eyes leveled with his. From a closer view, it was clear the color beneath the fading dye was a rich rusty auburn.

Kat's eyes narrowed momentarily, "What led you not to?" After a moment she blinked and looked away, "I've never been comfortable with the needless killing. The quiet isn't worth this much blood."

"I'd say you have too many connections to the green branch. We all try before we slide, Rook. We all try to change things, but tradition, fear, and the council, will not budge. And your suggestions are falling around the lines of treason. It could get you thrown into a penalty camp if you don't word things carefully."

"Since when has a blue been assisting the white branch? The idea is honorable, Rook, but very flawed. Besides. I'd purposely sabotage your mission. Sending information of St.Eva to the council, is a stupid thing to do. If they knew the extent, they'd take action akin to the mishap of twenty years ago." Kat let out a quick breath. "If you want to help me, then unchain me and let me escape. Linc is likely to kill me tonight."
