WARNING! LONG ANGRY RANT AHEAD, WHILE IT'S NOT INTENDED TO BE BIPHOBIC IT MIGHT COME OFF AS SUCH, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
-------------

While I understand that a lot of Bisexual people are mad that people don't believe them, you don't have it worse, you aren't looked down on(Except when you COMPLAIN).

If nobody every faked being Bi for any reason, then nobody would ever question Bisexuals, and then being Bisexual would be a blessing.

If you're Bi then you still CAN ignore GLTQ(The B is left out in this example on purpose) problems, if you so choose you can settle down with somebody of the opposite sex and never have anybody spit on you or disown you or shout "f*****t!" at you or even hear "Stop being so sensitive!" when you object to having f*****t shouted at you. While Straight people get 45%(The other 55% is gay people of the opposite sex and people of the same-sex) population as potential parters based on Gender and sexuality alone, And Gay people get 5%(The other 95% is straight people and people of the opposite sex) of the population as potential partners. Bisexual people get 95% of the population based on gender and sexuality alone(The other 5% is gay people of the opposite sex)

If you're Gay, or Trans-gendered you have no choice but to get involved in GLBTQ problems, Even if I hated politics and just wanted to live a normal life, I Can't, because I only like men and 95% of men don't like me and might even try to hurt me if I tell them I like them. And if I want to settle down with a husband and have kids, well I can't, because I have to fight for that right.

there are over 38 states I can't go to because there are no hate crime laws or anti-discrimination laws, so if I go there then somebody could bash my skull in and there is a good chance they'll get away free, and my boyfriend wouldn't be able to visit me in the hospital, and the doctors can decide they don't want to treat a f*****t. And if I tried to LIVE in that state? I could get evicted and lose my job because I'm gay.

If you're Bi, you don't have to worry about ANY of that, you CAN, but you don't HAVE to, You get a choice in getting involved.

So before you complain about people not BELIEVING you(Which is the only problem gay people ever have with Bi people besides being whiny about not being believed) remember that you're still lucky, because you still have a choice about whether or not people will discriminate against you. And people going "Are you REALLY Bisexual?" should be the least of your problems.

Don't blame Gay people and say we "Look down" on you, blame the people who lie about being Bi for creating the need to be untrustworthy in the first place. Because you have it WAY better off then we do.

OH! Also, on why the GSA isn't the GBLTQSA, It's because Gay is usually used as an umbrella, and you don't need an alliance to protect Bisexual people from Bashing BECAUSE THEY HAVE A CHOICE IN AVOIDING IT.

I'm not saying BEING Bi is a choice, I'm just saying that if you ARE then you have the choice of dating somebody of same-sex OR Opposite-sex.

...EXCUSE ME??????
Ah, okay, i know you are not intending to be biphobic, but honestly that is exactly how it comes off.
And i for one am very, very, VERY insulted!
You act like being bi gives you some kind of flexibility and freedom? Uh, no! You still can't choose who you fall for, and whenever you do fall for someone there is constant judgement from freaking EVERYBODY!
If a bi girl (like myself) goes for a guy then "oh she's not really bi, just pretending because clearly she prefers men.
If i fall for a girl then "oh she's not really bi, she's a closet lesbian!"
And in some cases even your partner is sometimes wary of you in case you suddenly "switch"
And do you have any idea of how FRUSTRATING it is having your feelings leaping about like there's no tomorrow? Not being able to have things just clear and black and white? The constant freaking UNCERTAINTY!?
At least gays know what they want. It's disorienting (for me anyway) to see a girl and be attracted to her, and later on be attracted to a guy. It's like a total turn around and it'd frustrating as hell!
Straight people feel uncomfortable around you. Gay people feel uncomfortable around you.
So you think we have it better off then you do? I LAUGH VERY LOUDLY!
You may believe that gays are less accepted because bi's can "choose" but just saying that is so single minded. Do you have any idea how frustrating this is? Not having any control or predictability over who you are attracted to?

I speak only for myself. It might be different for other bisexuals. But right now i am so annoyed at this person's comment i want to punch a wall.

alrighty. this was pretty annoying to read, but i did and now i feel like making a response. how lame.
anyways, consider this: people fall in and out of love all the time. you may fall in love with a woman at one point, and then fall in love with a man. BECAUSE you fall in love with a man later, it would be easy for you to live a normal life, especially if you end up settling down and starting a family.
on the other hand, if you fell hard for the girl and lived with her, then you would be subject to the same discrimination as us. HOWEVER, you won't necessarily feel the same way about it.

now, in YOUR defense, i understand that you get confused. it's hard to think that you may be more attracted to one sex when then you're attracted to boys. here's the deal, though: you're BI! news flash- oh wait, no it's not- you KNOW that you're bi, therefore there should be no confusion when you start crushing on someone from both genders. so you fall for a guy and a girl? we all fall for two people at once sometimes. it's confusing no matter WHAT your orientation cuz that's just how hormones work; we're made to confuse and frustrate ourselves. welcome to life, honey.

now, you seem to be annoyed that you get discrimination because "oh, are you really bi?" the thing is, a LOT of people fake it.
gay people get the EXACT SAME QUESTION and then when we have our first same-sex relationship, people PERSIST TO INSIST THAT WE'RE FAKING IT. why? cuz people are stupid and choose to think the "best" (or really worst) of us.

you guys are both gonna be mad at each other; you cuz you want to complain about how difficult it is to be bi, and the other person because he wants to complain about YOU complaining and comparing your life to his and insisting it's harder. see, it's not harder, it's not easier. we all go through different struggles in our course of life, and you guys both need to realize that. you can't compare lives when you're living two entirely different lifestyles (though they all fall under the homosexual umbrella, they are different colors of the rainbow)

now, no more fighting or getting mad, or imma lock this topic, ok?

@lifes4fun: Wow. Just wow. You are saying whether you like someone is a choice. Doesn't that go against everything a gay person believes in? Christians often say to Gay men and women that they CHOSE to be gay. That is obviously false. For you to say the same thing to bisexuals is an utter disgrace. They have no choice in liking someone same sex or opposite sex. You can't say that they do; otherwise, people could say the same to you. Don't be rude to people who are different. Unfortunately bisexuals get hit from two fronts. From gays (like you) for not being gay enough and straight people for not being straight enough. There is no choice. People like what they like. End of discussion.

i understand where you guys are coming from. my friend gave me this awesome piece of advice, which was FORGET ABOUT LABELS. like who you like. once i get more comfortable in my skin (i just came out) i'm going to say "i'm gay" less and less, but simply imply that i like girls.

i'm not sure if this works for everyone, but: focus on friendship first. i know that breaking up and stuff can & has ruined friendships, but idk. i wouldn't go out with someone that isn't my friend AS WELL AS such a good friend that even if we DID break up we wouldn't be able to get along. but i guess people change, too, sooooo hmmmm.

rawr people are complicated.
I agree; I don't like labels. I just say I like what I like. Period.

not end of discussion, I NEVER SAID THAT!
I never said anything about choosing. ******** that, choosing is ridiculous! I DO NOT BELIEVE IN CHOICE! You do not CHOOSE to be gay, you do not CHOOSE TO BE BI!
And i am not gay, i am bisexual, and i speak only for myself but i do find it really hard. People think i'm a freak because i believe love is free. because i believe love comes in so many different ways and forms. Because i believe people can love in so many ways.
I am agreeing with you, but i think you're attacking me for all the wrong reasons. I never said people can choose. All i said was i PERSONALLY found that difficult. I think life would be so much easier if you could choose. If i could choose to only be attracted to guys i would, because then i could stop lying to everybody like my family. But i can't.
So don't attack me for this. I said nothing wrong!

O.O wow this is getting really deep and I just got here.

I don't really know what to say. I know I like both guys and girls and that I am not just making it up or going though a questioning time in my life as some people tell me I am. I have know I am bi now for about three years. To get more relaxed about it, I joined a club at my school called the Gay/ Straight Alliance. I am a active member of it and I love the people in it.

I live in a vary... "normal god loving house" I have only told my mother that I am bi, but she thinks I am just going though a time in my life when I question my sexuality like all parents tell them self to run away from the topic.

In school... well not a lot of people other then girls are vary open with their sexuality and those that are are rare and few. I don't think I know any other bi guys at my school... It's hard being yourself when you have few people that even accept you for you, but that's just it. I am me and no one else.

I won't post again on this topic. Just leave me alone for Christ's sake!

You could say "I' am/Am not in a relationship. That's my answer."

That's what i try to tell people.

I love you all and all your replies : ] also please don't fight here :/
but i can really relate to a lot of these posts from bi and gay people, it is really hard. I am bi and it's confusing to like a boy and know that he won't ever think about you like that. I'm not saying that I'm confused about my sexuality or that Bi people are, i didn't choose and i don't think you guys did either. Sometimes it is confusing though and does hurt. A friend of mine that is a girl has known I'm bi for years but she really adds to the confusion because of what she says about me being bi : [ I don't want to seem like I'm whining but it is nice to talk to people about it that understand.
I don't agree at all when people say bisexual people are just horny, I'm a boy and i'll only have sex if i love the person

I agree we all have it hard, why can't we all just love each other? We all deal with a lot of s**t but maybe instead of fighting like animals we can try more to see what the other person is going through. Talk it out like adults. I'm bi and have finally just accepted that I am also a transgender so what do you think I'm going through?

That's what i think too, we should really try and understand everyone's view before we judge them and try to accept what they think, and not overstep our boundaries. IF i thought someone wasn't bi and was just looking for attention, i wouldn't say anything to hurt them.
