Arch the Angel "Do you want to bleed to death on the beach? You'll get sand in the wound and have kids poking at you like a jelly fish. It won't be fun." "Believe it or not, it's a better fate." Kat stopped struggling, holding onto the wound instead, her face gone a bit pale. She made one last ditch effort, pushing up to take him into a deeper kiss, hoping to gain enough influence to either keep him from calling the ambulance, or allow her to yell at him in his head until his stupidity officially killed her. (depending on if he allows it) Her kiss was sweet, with a specific flavor (that you have to pick, ha).

Jeffery flinched at the kiss, not expecting it even with the last one lingering. His head got a little muddled as he tried to blink it off. "Huh.." He mused, slowing. "I guess I might be able to patch you up then..."

Kat let out a long sigh, finally relaxing. "That would be most appreciated." She continued to put pressure on the wound, attempting to hold whatever blood she had left inside her body.

He got to the road and paused. "Um hell, my car's a few miles that way. We might just need to call 911."

"A few miles? Hell, what have you been doing out here?" She flinched slightly, her eyes narrowing. "Just get to the damn car. Or call a taxi...or just find a bus stop. We're not calling 911."

"Because people will let us on a bus with a gun wound." He walked over to a pay phone, laying her down on a bench next to it. "Don't move, I'll make the call for a cab."
He sighed, walking over to the phone, and called 911.

The moment he dialed, Kat's voice echoed in his head, swearing at him and insulting his mother.
She pulled herself up from the bench with a pained grunt, and took off, as fast as her wound would allow, towards the parking lot down the street.

She pulled herself up from the bench with a pained grunt, and took off, as fast as her wound would allow, towards the parking lot down the street. "Yeah, I've got a girl down at the beach with a bullet wound. Dunno, I.." Jeffery paused, glancing at her as she ran. "Damnit! On the 24th parking lot!" He yelled, hanging up as he ran after her. "Damnit, what the hell are you doing? You'll kill yourself." He caught up to her easily. "Isn't any trouble you got into with the police worth not dying?"

"The police?" Kat let out a sharp laugh. "It's not the police, a*****e, they just happen to have ears in the police. And the not dying thing is what I'm currently working on." She paused for a breather next to one of the cars in the parking lot, before attempting to pick up a rather large rock and smash it into the window. This ended up being harder than she thought it would be, as the rock kind of bounced back away from the window, leaving only a small nick in the glass. "Goddamnit."

As expected, the keepers picked up on the call matching the woman they were looking for, in a feasible enough area. Linc was already on his way.

He said, snatching the rock from her hand. "Look, leaving me in the dark is a poor way to build trust, especially when you need help." He glanced around. "We're not too far from my car. I'll carry you there, but you're going to talk."

"You're not going to believe me," She warned, though conceded the rock to him, and agreed to the deal with a clipped nod, "But I can tell you everything you'd like to know."
Up the road, a dark sedan began slowing as it moved down the road. It pulled to the side, Lincoln stepping out, his smile wide as usual. "Kat, time to come back home, babe." His hands were in his pockets as he began walking towards them.

((For the Record, the "fight" Mrs. Klaus was paying attention to was Kat hitting Jeffery when he picked her up and told her he'd call 911. The "he was carrying her back to their car" and "very dark shirt to be wearing to the beach" should have been clues to that. >.>))
When her daughter was finally done and came out, Mrs. Klaus took her not back to the waterside to play, but up towards the parking lot. The girl fought.
"But Mooooom, I don't wanna go home yet! Can't we play more?" Becky protested, giving her mother the classic sad-puppy look.
Mrs. Klaus didn't see it, her eyes locked on the story ahead. "No, sweetheart. Mommy's not feeling well, so I thought we'd go get an ice cream cone instead."
"Oh!" Instantly appeased, Becky skipped along in the sand beside her mother.
As near as the woman could tell, that boy's older sister was a lot more drunk than she'd thought... or... injured. She was holding her side, not her stomach, and had trouble moving, but like she just couldn't move very fast, not like her inner ear was thrown off. A phone call--maybe the boy didn't have his license, but was at least smart enough to call for a ride. Or--waaaaaait. Mrs. Klaus pulled Becky back and started leading her around the parking lot the long way. The little girl couldn't see the cars, or the people, so there's no way she'd realize they were already within 5 yards of their Civic. That was a good thing. This was starting to look like a spy movie, and Mrs. Klaus was getting chills down her spine just looking at the guy who stepped out of the car. That look on his face... it reminded her of her grandfather, the one time they'd gone to visit him in jail. He was creepy.

Rook had picked up the conversation on the police scanner, and began to curse loudly, to no one in particular. He floored it, thankful for the government plates that allowed him to speed through St. Eva's streets unhindered.
He was praying he would arrive before Lincoln, but as he rounded the bend, he found he was too late. He rolled his vehicle by, shifting his appearance to look like a cop. He rolled down his window, pulling up to the scene. "Good evening folks. I heard reports about a girl with a gunshot wound?" Rook paused, looking to each, and spotted the girl, climbing out of the vehicle, "Step back you two," He said, pointing to Lincoln and Jeffery, before turning his attention to Kat, "Now, you, girl, take a seat in the truck, I've got an ambulance inbound."

((I assumed it was, AC, but there were no interaction lines so I wasn't sure what you wanted us to do about it.)) Kat was, assumedly still being held by Jeffery, and couldn't make much of a run for it. She didn't recognize Rook at all, and assumed he was another keeper with another ruse to take her in.
Linc easily recognized the car that had pulled up to the outpost earlier, acknowledging Rook with a nod. "No need, Mate, I'd rather get this done quickly. Be a help, though, and distract the mom an' kid up the street. Don't need to add any more to our list."
Linc stepped forward, grabbing a hold of Jeffery's arm as his other hand brought out his knife.
