"They're more of hobbies, really." Eve confessed. Hobbies which she liked to distract herself with when there was nothing else to do, hobbies that made her happy. "Honestly, I usually need my mom's help around the kitchen. Especially with the really complicated stuff." She was fine at basic things like cookies, muffins and all, but there were some experiments that would have gone awry if not for her mother's presence. "I know! Cakes like that are really hard to make!"

Eve blinked up at the shop Kala was dragging her to. "That shop is absolutely fabulous!" She chirped excitedly once she had read the sign.

When Kala and Eve, who was still on her arm, walked through the door a very attractive very blonde young man greeted them, welcoming them to Iced. Kala nodded toward him in a greeting. “Oh, I think it’s horrible after all that work that you actually have to eat the cake. Of course it’s really the same as making a glorious gown only to have it worn once for an event and then it never gets to see the light of day ever again!” That was actually horrible. She had never really thought about it that way. It was rather depressing.

“Anyways, I will just not think like that. So anything you were looking for?” She surveyed the shop and with a giggle pulled Eve toward a jeweled wall. On it hung several diamond studded tiaras. “Try one on!!” She prompted her friend while grabbing one for herself. It was small but very intricate with some light blue jewels at the tips and points where the curved designs met. “We need to find a mirror!!” Kala loved trying things on. She had actually wanted to be an actor for a while for the sole reason she could wear so many different clothes.

Eve grinned brightly at the shop assistant in return, then turned her attention back to Kala. "Well, part of the work put into making a cake is making it delicious as well! Cakes are meant to be eaten, after all. ON the other hand, dresses are meant to be worn and flaunted. I mean, there are some people who shudder at the very thought of wearing the same outfit again, but it can't be that bad! It might be the same dress but it's how you wear it, how you accessorize is what makes the difference!"

"Nothing particular in mind, sadly." She pouted slightly, but soon brightened up at the sight of the tiaras. Playing princess was so much fun! It reminded of her when Mother dressed her up in pretty dresses as a kid and Daddy would always call her "their little princess". Scrutinizing the tiaras, she picked out one intricate one with swirls and delicate little flowers, complete with a few pearls that made it look rather elegant. "Over there!" She spotted a mirror and dragged Kala over to it, all the while giggling.

The young girl placed the delicate tiara onto her head, adjusting it and re-adjusting it several times in the mirror till it was in the perfect place. Kala batted her eyelashes as she gazed into the mirror while pouting her lips, “Tell me, do I look gorgeous darling?” She drawled on in a faux French accent. It was such a pretty tiara; it made her feel like a princess. She used to have a trunk of dresses when she was child that she’d wear and then dance around in. Sometimes her father would dance with her like a prince charming or her mother would set out a vast tea party. Now if it was only fashionable to walk around in one all day. “I wouldn’t have anywhere to really wear this too.” She stated, running her finger across the top, “it’s a pity.’

Her face stretched into a smile, “I know, let me take a picture!” She dug around for her bag, looking for her phone. “If I can find it,” she huffed, “then we could record our first shopping day, because,” she grunted, reaching deep into the large bag, “we are so doing this again.”

"You look ab-so-lutely wonderful, dahhlingg~" Eve imitated Kala's accent, bursting into a fit of giggles after hearing how she sounded like. Now this was exactly why she liked shopping with others! She could act as goofy as she wanted, and friends would play along, and they would ignore the strange looks others would give them most of the time. Doing it alone would be incredibly awkward.

"Yeah," Eve pouted, "it's those kind of things that you really really want, but don't need." And this situation usually sent her into dilemma as she wondered or not whether she should buy it.

The blonde herself rummaged in her bag for her own cellphone, her intention to get Kala's number so they could meet up again for such trips. "I know; it's so much fun! I can't believe we haven't met in school before!"

“And then I’ll stand here arguing with myself whether or not to buy it. But I really really don’t need this,” She plucked the tiara off her head again, examining it closer, momentarily forgetting about her cell phone, which coincidentally was in the side pocket the whole time, “but I really really want it.” After finally finding the phone, she snapped a photo of Eve. Kala liked un-posed pictures as much as she liked the posed and pretty ones. She held her pink phone dotted in rhinestones in one hand and an equally sparkling tiara in the other.

“I know!! How have we not even seen each other before? I suppose that is school for you though, always keeping you busy. Smile.” She held out her phone, trying to center Eve in the middle.

"Temptation is such a vice." Eve sighed, staring at her reflection in the mirror, her blue eyes fixated on the tiara set upon her blond curls. She fully understood what Kala meant, though, in her shopping experience, there was many a time when she had to argue with herself about buying a particular item she had taken a shine too, but probably wouldn't use anyway. Lost in thought, Eve didn't notice the other snapping a photo of her until she heard the 'click' sound and spun around with a quizzical look on her face.

"Are you involved in any activities in school?" Eve asked. "I'm a dancer." Any further elaboration about this was halted as she posed for the camera, holding up a V-sign beside her cheek and smiled brightly, showing a dimple in a cheek.

Kala’s face lit up, “Really? I wanted so bad to be a ballerina when I was little. Turns out I’m not as gracefull as I appear to be. Then I decided that I didn’t have to be a ballerina to wear a tutu and I started wearing them everywhere for about a year. I’d make my own by tying tool to an elastic band.”

She checked the picture on her camera, it was a good photo of the girl. She walked back toward the tiara topped wall and placed hers gently back on the hooks. “What kind of dancing do you do? I mean dancer train in all kinds of styles right? Or I’m just pretending to know anything about it.” She ran her fingers across some nearby dangling chandelier earrings. “Oh, I sew things mostly. Costumes and the like. I’m in the sewing club. Vice president at your service.” She did a low bow, her face coming back up with a large smile.

"I'm average, really." Eve informed Kala with a sheepish grin. "I can't pick up new moves as well as those talented ones who come in on scholarships, but well, it's really fun!"

"I think every little girl wanted to be a ballerina because of the pretty costumes." The blonde said thoughtfully. "At least I did." Watching stuff like the Nutcracker and Swan Lake had piqued her interest not only because of the fancy twirls and pirouettes but the gorgeous costumes the female lead often wore.

"We do different styles, but mostly ballet. I kinda wish we could learn couple dances, but y'know, being in an all girls school hinders that. It's kinda sad, really." Eve sighed, shrugging her shoulders. Oh well, it wasn't like she could do anything about it. It was said that the guys at Hillworth were bad news, and she doubted the rivalry between Crystal and Meadowview would allow the students to interact for something like that.

"That's cool!" She exclaimed. "I'd love to see your designs and your work one day!"

“I bet you are really good, you’re just being modest.” She waved toward Eve. “I’d probably remove my partner’s toes with my horrific dancing. Of course that might teach those Hillsworth boys a lesson or two.” She shrugged. She glanced at her phone, now the only thing occupying her hands.

“Do you live in the dorms? I can’t remember if I asked you that.” She was mostly talking to herself at this point, opening up her phone again. “Anyways, you’ll have to stop by my house some time. Can I call you? I hear the ladies are real snooty about calls there. Do you want my number too? You know we should run through our class schedules too and see if we have any classes together, that would be great.” Kala often found too many ideas running through her head at times that came out in some grotesque ramblings and questions, as she seemed to be spitting out now. She caught herself this time, “Ahh sorry, I’m just going on and on, but I figured since my phone was out I might as well get your information?”

Eve laughed in response. She had heard of the Hillworth students...er...reputation, and she highly doubted that she would ever get the chance to dance with a male partner from that school. The other Crystal girls would be horrified, she was sure. She herself? She didn't know if she should be. They were just boys, and boys were usually unruly, weren't they? "It just takes practice! Some dances are easy; it's all just basic steps."

"Mmhmm." Eve bobbed her head vigorously in return. "How about I give you my number and you call me?" She held out her hand to take Kala's phone to key in her number. "If we had classes together, that'd be totally awesome! I don't think they'd let us sit together though; and even if they did, they would probably separate us if we talk too much."

Kala nodded, and navigating her phone to the contacts, handed the gaudy phone over to the girl. “Oh I don’t know, you say it’s just steps, and I suppose it is, but you can still do the steps badly and look ridiculous.” She shrugged, “I’ll still dance anyways, its fun, but I’ll never claim to be good at it.”

“Oh I don’t know, some teachers are pretty oblivious, we could probably text, I’m mean fast at texting, or hit it old school and send notes.” She giggled, “Now we are planning on breaking the law. Let’s hope we do get to sit near enough to each other though, that would be fun.”

Eve's fingers swiftly flew over the keypad, keying in her number and when she was done, she pressed the call button, waiting for her cellphone to peal out a cheery ringtone before she hung up and handed Kala's phone back to her with a grin. "Well, you're good at sewing! And I think I wouldn't be very good with that; I'm too impatient."

Blue eyes were alight with enthusiasm as she nodded along to Kala's suggestions. "Oh god, that sounds fun!" Doing such things behind teacher's backs were rather exhilarating, and Eve was already giddy with anticipation. "I do hope so," She said sincerely. "It would make communicating a lot more easier."
