Dakota's tail wagged and he relaxed as the girl seemed to calm down emotionally, his head resting back down on the bed. He let out something that was between a sigh and a sneeze before letting his eyes slide closed. Spiro continued to sleep on- his dreams had stopped waking him up awhile ago.. Although they did keep him awake sometimes. He stayed up at night in an attempt to avoid them. After a few seconds he shifted a bit and flinched.
The same dream. Always the same. The fire, the crying, the execution, the evil the anger. And then he knew his dream was coming to an end when... He saw that one angel. Everything was fine, happy in the dream for a short while. And then the fire and the blood and the falling.
His eyes slipped open and he grimaced again, before letting out a small groan as if someone had just punched him in the gut. He rubbed at his eyes sleepily and stretched out his legs. "Unh.."

"Who protect you?" she asked after a moment more of staring. There had to be someone.. something. That kept him safe here. But what?

The boy looked at her sleepily, blinking once or twice.. "Protecting me...?" He echoed softly, still rubbing at one eye. He let the question soak in and then gave his answer. "Someone named Freize. He took me in 'cause nobody else wanted me... This is his house... He let me stay here..." He yawned and then fixed her with his usual neutral-stare.

"He.. Keeps ...them away?" she blinked curiously. Leaning foreward a bit more. Her tail swayed behind her. If he did.. how, and and... What else could he do? Such a thing seemed impossible..

"Yeah... He keeps them away.. He seems like he's really strong..." Spiro didn't know for certain, of course. Nobody except Arafel knew the full extent of Freize's abilities- after all, he tried to live a passive life nowadays, right? He watched as one of the kittens batted at his tail, and then slowly turned his mismatched eyes back towards the girl. "It's safe here."

The young girls eyes shifted to teh wall, as if she was debating something.
The moment was broken with a knock on the door, the halfbreed managing to flip under the boy's bed in less than a second. She shut her eyes tight... If I can't see them then they can't see me.
"Spiro?" the voice from the other side of the door called, almost heisitantly. It was easily distinquished as Arafel's. The woman felt as though she shouldn't be looking for the child.. something just wasn't right. Still... she had to find her first.
Arafel didn't bother to wait for the door to be answered. It really wasn't something to be expected from spiro. "Theres a girl, heaven seems to be looking for her... I need to find her, so if you see anything tell me or freize, okay?" Speaking of which.. she needed to go notify Freize of their.. situation.

The boy watched as his new friend disapeared beneath his bed, and he turned his head to peer at the door calmly. And, as expected, Spiro did not answer the door. He didn't even answer her call. He simply waited expectantly for his message, head resting back on his bed, his eyes somewhat weary.. "A girl...?" He echoed quietly, thinking to himself for a moment.. And then his body went slightly rigid and spoke up in a placid tone, "Are you helping them?"
He couldn't even imagine Freize and Arafel, the only nice grown ups he knew, in cahoots with them. That was simply crazy... It made his brows furrow just a bit, even. He continued his staring contest with the door, waiting for an answer.

Arafel shifted, letting out a sigh. Sure she could suger coat it like most would with a child, but she was much of a child herself... So she simply spoke to them as she would anyone else. Yet in this her sentances were hindered, anone who knew her could tell. "I'm doing what i have to do." And anyone who knew her knew that wasn't exactly what it sounded like. Ofcourse, that was probably only Freize and Zhome's knowlage.
She leaned against he door way... So many things hung in balance here. She had to keep on neutral grounds with both sides. Not to mention Akito now... All of them she had to show an unwanted respect to for the sake of all the children she rehomed.
However, she was suspicious of this... Their whole plan to get a halfbreed back? That made no sense. So far, her plan in progress was to get the child before any of them could. Then.. inquire.
But she couldn't state that outloud. The walls have ears you know. And some other crap no one wants to know about.

Spiro sucked in a deep breath, eyes narrowing slightly at her response. He simply gave a bland, "Oh." He moved to a stand now, walking to his desk to peer down at his frog silently.. "Whatever." He finally muttered, just loud enough for her to hear. He would never be on the side of those who he had spent the first and most crucial years of his life with. They hadn't been on his side, after all. Ever. They didn't deserve any effort from him.
And they wouldn't get Ani. He promised. He'd protect her. He wouldn't let them have her, or him. They could all go rot in hell for all he cared.
He wouldn't tell them- however much he trusted and looked up to Freize, he couldn't tell him now. Freize would certainly tell Arafel, or maybe he was in cahoots with them too. It wasn't safe to talk to them about it. They wouldn't get anything from him. His lips were sealed.
He was good at keeping people out of his business, after all.

Arafel sighed, frowning off at nothing. Surely he hadn't been able to assume she had meant that in a different way.
"Allright." she shrugged, moving back down the stairs to hunt out her significant other.
Ani stayed under there a moment more, tail wiggling some before she slowly scooted out from under the bed "I.. I.." she muttered softly, the sudden urge to get out of there hitting her. She glanced to the windo.. then back to sprio. Unable to determine which of the two was safer.

The child simply began muttering to himself, grabbing a random utensil and beginning to write something furiously on a piece of paper. Dakota's head turned, ears perking as he picked up on his caretaker's sudden foul mood. He whimpered softly, tail tucking down between his legs. And just like that the entire room seemed to somber and fill with gloom.
"Why is Arafel... Helping them...?" The boy finally asked himself in a pathetic tone, seeming completely baffled now. "Why...?" And then he slumped down beside his desk, pressing a hand to his forehead. This was too much for him. Heaven was breaching into his safety zone. It was making him feel nervous. He remembered what happened the last time they breached his safety zone.. Sometimes. Sometimes he forgot. Those were the times he liked best.
When he forgot.
He closed his eyes tightly.

Ani watched curiously, deciding to wait before her running off. Being alone didn't appeal to her... She was young afterall. The dark frightened her, crossing the street was a troublesome task.
She listened, before tilting her head "People... Think they nice. Some angel nice... Maybe... she never meet bad them?" the little childs mind tried to answere the older child, as she shuffled over to him, sticking to his side much like a duckling would to it's mother.

The boy looked to her slowly, mismatched eyes uncertain. "I feel like... I just got stabbed in the back." He explained quietly, tone hesitant... He couldn't imagine a nice 'them'. Sure, he'd met plenty of nice angels, but they had been banished. That made them different. "Maybe..." He echoed softly to what she said, his hand lifting to run through her hair. "No one else could ever understand." The fear. The free-falling fear in the pit of his stomach. Just like when he'd been tickled by Colette and Avery. It was something no one else could quite get, but it made perfect sense to him. It always made perfect sense to him.
"Don't worry, I won't tell them... But I don't know if it'll be safe for you here when I'm gone... Maybe..." He faded out...
"Maybe we should find a safe place nearby for you to hide."

Ani looked to her feet, flexing her bare toes some before continuing some "M..Maybe.. she met my daddy? he was nice... he..he gone now though." she bit her lip, giving a tiny sniffle as her hand reached up to latch onto spiro's shirt. As if to try and hold him back from leaving, though he wasn't tryign to go anywhere.
She nodded to his suggesttion, whiping at her face "Kay.. Thankyu."

The halfbreed's eyes darkened in thought.. "My mom was good too... But she's been gone for a long time. I didn't know her very long, either... Al-" He stopped dead, his heart suddenly hurting at the thought of the other angel who was nice to him. "There was another nice angel I... Knew once..." Flames. "He's... Gone too."
He grimaced as she first grabbed hold of him, but didn't pull away. He was getting better.
He went quiet for awhile, and then looked towards his window quietly... "We'll look for a place tomorrow. I don't have school tomorrow, so it'll be okay." They'd just sneak out, which was just as easy said as done. That was perhaps the easiest thing to do around here. "You'll be safe here today... And I can bring you some food."
