Smiling at the child, he remarked, "As the King wishes." Picking up the blocks he had used for the demonstration, he continued to help build the castle by supporting it. The sky was his limit to reach; certainly he had the mind for it.
Looking around, he was likewise concerned for a mean or careless pae to come and ruin this little Kingdome. There didn't appear to be anyone at all. Who had left the child without someone to watch him?

Aulii quite liked this, having someone help make a castle, and maybe this big man could help him make the castle even taller, already Aulii was reaching up pretty high from his spot seated on the ground. He finally, slowly stood up so that he could reach even higher up and make the castle big. "See all up, up." Aulii sung as he stacked more blocks.

Watching the boy, he smiled as the castle started getting so high he couldn't see the seated child anymore. Popping up his neck, he would glance over at Aulii as they continued to build. This was even more interesting when Aulii stood up and kept building. Naturally, Kurt was concerned that he wasn't as steady on his feet yet, but so far he looked like he was doing alright.
It was a good thing the blocks kept coming; this structure was getting pretty tall for something a toddler built. "This is the biggest castle I have ever seen." King Aulii sure knew how to build them, if only he could see what the toddler saw. Imagination could build something out of something else far more impressive than just the blocks he saw.

Aulii smiled and waved at Knight Kurt when he saw his head poke around. Finally the castle had gotten too high for Aulii to reach and keep his balance at the same time so he sat down and observed the height of his castle from on the ground and smiled, proud of his work... and Kurt's work too. And the complement made him even more happy. "Big gust!" Aulii shouted, he needed an award or something for his big castle. He gave Kurt a thumbs up and continued to admire the castle.

Sadly, as adorable as King Aulii was, Kurt had something that needed to get done. With the castle completed, he offered, "Would King Aulii like a snack after all that hard work?" Blame the father in him, everyone, especially growing boys, needed to eat.
Aulii's thumbs up was returned, the classic wink with it complete with a big smile.

Aulii nodded his head. "Snnnnnnnack." He repeated after Kurt. Aulii was feeling pretty hungry after all the building he had been doing that day. He giggled when the adult winked at him, he was a funny. Aulii tried to wink too, but he only blinked both eyes when he tried to, it was much easier to bat his eyelashes which is pretty much what he was doing while trying.

Given the look of the young pae, he had an idea of what would be good for a little snack. His personal favorite tropical fruit, mangos. Chuckling a little, he was reminded that much of the skills he takes for granted came with age. Little things like winking for example. Aulii was trying so go props for that.
The poor ladies of the island if he keeps practicing and gets older. Getting, he even pulled off a bow of sorts, ego and pride had no place when playing with a toddler, "I shall return, King Aulii" Exciting the living room, the blue stared pae pulled out the mango, getting rid of the skin and cutting half of it up. little kids didn't have huge stomachs after all, and he was creative with his cutting turning them into block shapes similar to the blocks they had been using to build.
Along with that, he took out the old staple, ants on a log, one short piece of celery with peanut butter and raisins put along like they were little ants in single file.
Pleased with his creative skills, all that was left was to pull out a small juice pouch and take care of putting in the straw himself. The small plastic plate, held the little snack and the juice pouch even sat neatly on it. Returning, he sat on ground to the side of castle. Holding out the plate he said, "Here is my offering." Tasty without the pure sugar to drive a baby up the walls, he learned his lesson painfully about that one, painful for him since the child was perfectly fine and massively amused.

Aulii smiled and nodded his head, he didn't mind the other pae leaving him, after all his cousin of the same age had left to play elsewhere to. He could keep himself entertained. Aulii continued to push blocks around while Kurt was gone, this time pretending a block was a car and zooming around on the floor with it. When Kurt returned, Aulii looked up at him and took the plate which seemed to be for him. He studied all the foods, the juice pouch looked most familiar so he took that first and began to suck on it enthusiastically. Aulii then stared at the unfamiliar foods which seemed kind of scary to him. "Buggy?" Aulii asked pointing at the ants on a log snack. He didn't want to eat bugs.

Kurt smiled at the child as he went for the juice pouch, must have been thirsty. Though the way he looked, curious but scared, perhaps he had never had these items. Plucking up one of the raisins, he showed it to the boy answered, "Raisin." Following he popped it into his mouth to prove it was safe.

"Ray son..." Aulii repeated after Kurt and he picked up one of the raisins and copied the way he had ate it too. He chewed on it slowly, it was certainly odd, but it was okay. Aulii then picked up a whole 'log' and gnawed on it happily, somehow managing to get peanut butter everywhere he could, but he didn't mind the mess. "Blocks?" Aulii asked pointing at the mango cubes, he didn't know he was allowed to eat his toys.

Leave it to a child, Kurt thought bemusedly, to make a mess out of a snack. There was nothing a wet paper towel can't fix, so he didn't say anything. Smiling warmly, he just watched. The question made him chuckle a little bit, "They are blocks made out of food, you can play with them on the plate, but they are also yummy." Well, he thought so, how Aulii would view them was unknown at this point. It seemed to fit him, but then, taste has nothing to do with what a pae looks like.

Aulii looked at the blocks for a little while longer, Knight Kurt had said they were okay to eat, but Aulii wanted to play first. He grabbed the fruit blocks and stacked them one on top of the other until all the blocks were used, then he ate one of the top, chewing on it slowly in his mouth, trying to decide if he liked it or not. "Good good" he said after the fruit was thoroughly mushed in his mouth and swallowed.

Smiling, he stood back up when it was clear that Aulii was eating happily. Going back to the kitchen, he retrieved a wash cloth and held it under warm water. Once wet he wrung it out so it wasn't dripping and carried it back out to the toddler.
Kneeling once more, he handed the cloth out and said, "Clean up time." He was perfectlly willing to let the boy do it himself, peanut butter wasn't that hard to get off and the boy was very capable.

Aulii looked at the damp cloth in front of him and watched it curiously. He grabbed it since it was being offered to him and held it in his hands and then set it on his lap. It felt good. He patted his hands against it and it made a slapping sound, he liked the noise to so he continued to pat on the cloth, grinning a peanut-buttery grin the entire time.
